Elin- Yay for having 2 weekends of Girl's Time!!! Sorry about all the drama with Bob's family.

It's been crazy here, but that's nothing new.

We celebrated Mo's birthday Saturday at Pump it Up. Here is a link to some pics. They are horribly blurry, my girlfriend was taking them and I'm guessing the camera was on the wrong setting. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=20878&id=1134281491&l=c9116e74d5Mo had so much fun as did everyone else. And an hour after Mo's party ended we had a birthday party for Hayden & Jake. Guess where? Same place! We were completely bounced out as we were there from 3:15pm until 8:30. 3 hours of bouncing, while fun, is extremely exhausting!! Eric brought the older 2 girls home and I went and picked up Lucy, a friend took her home after Mo's party. She never would have made it 5 hours. I got home about 10. Eric and I ate dinner and then crashed!!

Got up Sunday morning and had to bake and decorate a cake for Em's friend, Lily. Lily's party was at 2pm. Here is her cake http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=396157&l=e45242b9d2&id=1134281491 We were at the party til about 5. Headed home for dinner, bath and beds for the girls. I managed to get some of the house cleaned up before I headed to bed.

Molly went to the zoo yesterday with her preschool. My MIL took her. It was horribly hot and miserable. I did manage to get out yesterday afternoon and found Lucy a pair of glasses. They should be in next week and I am hoping she will keep them on! We barely got them on long enough to make sure they fit her correctly. I am so not looking forward to the battle ahead!! After Mo's dance class, Eric dropped her off at my aunt's house for the night and then headed to his BS meeting. Em had jui jitsu and I then dropped her off at my in-laws for the night. Poor kid, I forgot to feed her!! Came home and got Lu settled in for the night. We ate dinner after he got home and then went to bed!

Up at 5am this morning and got ready for Lu's surgery. We left here at 6:30, had to be at the surgical center by 7:30. Surgery was less than 10 minutes and we were on our way home by 8:30. She is doing well and napping right now. Mo was waiting for us when we pulled up. I am enjoying the peace and quiet that comes from having no daycare kids here!!! I am wondering if I can convince Mo that a nap would be good ;)

Off to fix lunch!

Robyn - good luck with the napping. I can't imagine why you would be tire, though.

How bad are Lucy's eyes? How did you even figure out that she needed glasses?

It's not looking good as far as the convincing goes. Whining is much worse, though, so I'll drop the subject!

As for Lucy's eyes... I had her at her regular pediatrician for an ear infection and while we were waiting I noticed her left eye looked a bit off center. Not 2 seconds later, the dr. came in and immediately noticed it as well. She thought that she could be nearsighted and that it "wandered" and sent us to the ophthalmologist.

He determined that she is actually farsighted and has Strabismus, where she can't aligned that one eye to the center. When he first examined her, he mentioned something about her hair hanging in her face. I was freaked out as I have heard so much grief over not getting her hair cut. She will not keep in a barrette or ponytail. I did not want to hear the all "I told you so's". But after he dilated her eyes and then re-examined her, he explained that since her hair was hanging over her right eye it was actually helpful and I should not get it cut for a while. Ha, vindication!:rotfl: He said he would like to see if the glasses help and after we see him in July for the follow up I can then cut her hair. Eric and I had planned to get it cut this summer in WDW, that's why I was so adamant that it not get cut now, so it works out perfectly!!!

Thanks for all of the comments for Cassidy. You can tell she is trying to not care, but of course does. She is also very ill, I kept her home today...I can't decide if it's a dr. calling illness.

Do they think it is something that will correct itself?

Do they think it is something that will correct itself?

This is what I found out on the web. Hopefully, the glasses will do the trick.

What treatment is available for strabismus?

Strabismus cannot be outgrown, not will it improve by itself. Treatment to straighten the eyes is required. The types of treatments may be used alone or in combination, depending on the type of strabismus and its cause.

* Glasses are commonly prescribed to improve focusing and redirect the line of sight, enabling the eyes to straighten.

* Medication in the form of eye drops or ointment may be used, with or without glasses. Injected medication may be used to selectively weaken an overactive eye muscle.

* Surgery may be performed on eye muscles to straighten the eyes if nonsurgical means are unsuccessful.

* Eye exercise, An eye doctor may recommend eye exercises either before or after surgery.

Is her prescription glasses for only the one eye? Kirsten has plain glass for one side

It must be that time of year again for all the extra school stuff to kick into high gear. Now that I think about it I can remember the last weeks of school being very busy in the past. Today I have Colby's parent/teacher appointment. I need to meet with the school on May 11th to review and create and new IEP. He is progressing very slowly, much more slowly then they anticipated. I'm going to try to get reading included in it for next year because kids with severe speech delay such as Colby tend to have difficulty learning to read and it will be much easier to get it included now then to try to deal with it when it occurred. Both Nick and Hunter did the reading recovery program so it makes sense that Colby will need it too. Lacrosse season is kicking into high gear with games starting on Sunday. That will most definitely keep us running in and of itself. SIL wanted us to go camping for Memorial Day weekend, but with games on Friday night and Saturday Morning it doesn't make sense for us to go.

We took Riley to the vet again yesterday. His meds are still too low for his thyroid so we're upping them for the 3rd time (4th doseage). He has lost more weight which is a huge concern, but he doesn't care for any of the prescription foods so she agreed that we should put him back on his old food as he will at least eat a whole can. Of course that will effect his kidney function, but there really isn't another option. He also had an eye infection in both eyes so he has an ointment for that. The poor guy is just falling apart. I realized that they had the wrong age for him on his chart. Once we corrected that we realized that 15 1/2 in cat years is equivalent to 78 years old in human years. No wonder he is starting to have problems. The vet has been very helpful and she has been giving us outdated meds that she kept as she said it works just as well, but she can't sell it after the use by date. Even with the free meds it costs nearly $100 each visit. He is certainly worth it so I won't complain, but it is a good thing that I'm working :rotfl:

good point....I have him focused on the TX weather now....we will see how long that lasts

Our weather is fine. But I am sure the entire state will have swine flu very shortly. Of course there is swine flu at WDW. I am not the least bit surprised. Better than Ebola or something that is fatal to pretty much everybody who contracts it.
