DDA Chapter 20

So Lizzy's best friend is going on a cruise with her parents-she is an only child. One day they have a port of call at Cape Canaveral. They can get off the boat at 8am, then they are taking a shuttle to Avis, renting a car and driving to WDW for the day-they have to be back on the boat at 8pm. They have free park hopping tickets from a friend who works at ESPN.

I suggested they go to Epcot because it is school vacation week for the Northeast so it will be busy. AK has AM EMH and MK has PM EMH and DHS has Fantasmic! I also think Epcot is an easier park to find stuff to do while waiting for fast pass times then MK.

They have told Lizzy's friend that this is her ONE chance to see WDW so now she wants to go to MK because she wants to do rides and she thinks Epcot looks too educational. I did tell Lizzy to tell her how fun Epcot can be.

Do you think I'm wrong to think they'd be able to see more/get more rides in at Epcot?

The Mom thinks they should go to DHS to do RnR & ToT then hop to Epcot. They probably won't get in a park til almost 11am. I just don't see this as good strategy.

I want to tell the kid to just go to Epcot and I'll take her WDW for a "REAL" trip some other time. But I don't want to make a promise I can't keep either.

Gosh-I can't imagine just doing WDW in one day...even when we went and it was just Epcot and MK we did 3 days and it still didn't feel like enough.

I would let them know how many rides there really are in Epcot (lots of our favorites).

You've got solid reasoning behind your advice. I do think that if this is her once in a childhood trip then MK might be the place to go. Cinderella Castle and Main Street USA are just the icons that stand out in advertisements and in my memories as Disney.

We're even crossing our DNA ;)

I'm guessing that you are down visiting for April vacation as I think the kids are finishing the school year in NY. Unless I missed something along the way :confused3 I'm so happy that things are going well. Did the big closet win her over?

Yes, we came down for the week so the kids could start to feel comfortable. Well Daniel & Sophie are more than "comfortable", they do not want to go back to NY!:lmao: They love their own rooms, they love the parks, & love the other kids as there are so many here. Katie has made progress for sure. She is happy with her big room & big closet. We went to the mall yesterday & she said that the people were so nice in the stores that she couldn't believe it. Where we live in NY you have to hunt down someone to help you but here people seem like they want to help you & are so polite. I was happy that she is trying to find the positive in this. She even found some friends to walk to the school bus with. :thumbsup2

We head back Monday & I would rather stay here, but we are still staying in Ny to let the kids finish school. I was having fun here with my new kitchen & own bathroom! I am spoiled now.

Well, I watched one person ahead of me waiting for her interview and was glad I went with the outfit I did....I was more dressed up than her but not so much that I stood out.

I did well enough to get a second interview on the spot....I will know by next Thursday if I am employed by Target.

My mom was told last night that her position will be rethought out as a ministerial position (she was the office manager at a church also). How they think that a minister is going to do her job on top of the other "stuff" they envision he/she will do, I am not sure. Mom and Mark just did a lot of renovations on their house so they need her to work at least part time.

John believes that they go through the system and weed out the people who go often, figuring that what the heck they don't need a pin code cause they will come anyway.
Dana finally registered with Disney.com & HE got a PIN for free dining !

I feel like such a jerk! I didn't have any idea you all were moving already! :confused3 I thought you weren't leaving until June. Where the heck haqve I been?!?!?

I am glad to hear that all is going well. :goodvibes

Why did I think you were waiting until school let out at the end of June?! Obviously, because I don't get around here often enough myself.

Good luck and enjoy your new home!

We are just here for the Easter break. :) But now we don't want to leave. We have had beautiful weather & am not looking forward to the cooler temps in NY.

I have a phone conference with my attorney later this morning. Please keep your fingers crossed that the outcome is good, or at least something that I can work with/is feasible.
I hope that well Tammi!

Checking in....

Today is our anniversary....we just got back form our traditional dinner out. We always go back to the French restaurant (Chez Collette) that we had our wedding reception at. They were very kind to us...they made us a custom dessert that I didn't expect. We had a good time...polished off a great bottle of wine. I am exhausted now!!! :rotfl:

Hope everyone is hanging in there....I think we are all due for some good health & prosperity!!!

Anne Marie - I think you and Dana were BRILLIANT to have Spring Break in your new house. How absolutely insightful! I bet the kids will be ready to make the move more readily now. :thumbsup2

Kristine - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! I remember when you went last year. It seems like just last week! :sad2:

Thanks!! Bill and I just commented how quickly time is moving....also how when we polish off a bottle of wine, we now we have to lay down! :rotfl2:

We're slowly tucking kiddos in. Nick's friend is spending the night so we've got an extra. My neice is also coming over in the morning as she wants me to french braid her hair. Her mother cannot seem to figure out how to do it.

Yes, that was about 15 years ago. She's been with this one for a long time-10+ years. She is one of the most kind hearted people I know. She always sees the best in everyone and every situation. She never lets anything get her down. When I'm in a real cranky mood I often think to myself "how would Sue" look at this situation. She's very talented too-does wonderful stain glass work. She is attracted to artistic types. This guy is a not financially sucessful musician so she basically supports him. I really don't know much about him at all. I don't even know if he has insurance-I'm sure she has it through our work but you have to be married to get coverage and they are not married. I'm sure that is the least of her concern now though. I just feel so bad for her and wish I could do something. I did ask her if I could cook anything for her so she wouldn't have to do fast food but she says she's only staying about 5 minutes per visit as she doesn't want to agitate him. He is still sedated. She said she sang a song he wrote for her this morning and he started moving-he's restrained, so she stopped.

Bernadette this is just so sad :guilty:
