Sorry. I have no other ideas of suggestions. I hope you can get it figured out.I do... and it is working properly. My laptop is connected to the network.
Something is blocking my use of the network. Like a password or something like that. I can't figure it out and it is making my head hurt!

Sounds like a good case for the Geek Squad. When I try repair the connection it hangs at setting a new IPA address and tells me it cannot do "that" and to contact the person who manages my network. I AM the person who manages the daMned thing! I set it UP!!!

Molly lost her first tooth!!!!!!!!!
It does, but I am so stubborn I will probably refuse to pay their outrageous prices!
I'll show Eric your last post when he comes back in. Eric may have some more suggestions.

After you set up the new router...did you enter the security key and or password into your laptop?
There is no new router... that is what is causing me such consternation. The password is accepted when I enter it and that is what allows the laptop to be "connected" but as far as a security key....
We have a series of 4 keys but it won't accept any of them. I am flummoxed!
so new modem....existing router. it shows you connected to the network...but unable to access the internet. Is that right? do other computers work?
She was doing something with a printer yesterday.i'm confused...so you made no changes...suddenly your laptop would not connect?
A quick fly-by post here.... In an attempt to set up a new wireless print server for our network somehow my laptop has been blocked from internet connection. It keeps telling me to contact my administrator for access. I AM THE ADMINISTRATOR!!!
