Bernadette nice job on all the clothes.
I'm not sure I like those-I stole them off an old pair of DH's pants.

I am thinking orange buttons if you can find some.

The Dr's office just called & everything is ok :cool1: He has a cyst on both Kidneys & they are nothing to worry about. He may have to go in for another urine test, but he is in the clear! Boy is that a weight off our shoulders.

Thank you all for the good thoughts & prayers. I knew deep in my heart that all would be ok, but you just never know.

I am so happy :yay::yay::yay:

ETA: He is being referred to see a urologist just to be sure all is well with the other issues.

That is the best news! :goodvibes

Today was the first firefighter funeral that I went to. I was not sure what to expect, but it was a surreal experience. There was a 2 hour long mass in which the firefighters (including my dad) walked in together and sat together. It was absolutely heartbreaking when they closed the casket- Manny had 5 children. The FF’s brother in law did the eulogy and a firefighter did another speech. The bagpipes were played and the firefighter’s prayer was read, which was very hard for me to hear and I do not think there was a dry eye in the house. After the firefighters left the church, we followed them out. They put the casket on the back of a firetruck and had his helmet carried out. Hundreds and hundreds of fire fighters from other districts lined the streets and saluted the truck as it went by. The families of firefighters and firefighters were on buses that they chartered for today. As we followed the truck, there were firetrucks behind us as far as the eye could see. Someone later told me the procession was at least 2 miles long. They even had the ladders of two trucks up, creating an arch for the procession to go through. What amazed me was the support from the residents of the town. So many came out of their homes and businesses and just stood, some with their hands on their hearts, some crying, as we drove by. One man even ran out of his house, lowered his flag, and went back in. As we passed firehouses, the members were outside, standing at attention and saluting. Very touching. At the cemetery, the FFs were lined up at attention while bagpipes played amazing grace and taps—again ,not a dry eye was seen. It was so hard looking around and seeing “my firefighters” fighting back the tears..i just wanted to run up and hug them all, especially my dad.
When that was done,I could finally see my dad and just hug him---This entire situation has made me appreciate him even more and it was really hard for me that he had to work and couldn’t be with us for the viewing/funeral.
We had the luncheon at a firehouse and just sat with firefighters all day..after wards, we went out for a bit with some of the guys. I think it was like therapy for me to be with them. After I got home, I couldn’t stop crying…But its over and I appreciate your thoughts through all of this.

:grouphug: I've been to one for the son of a good friend. What a wonderful tribute.

Molly lost her first tooth!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to her!

We got a new print server that I tried to install and it would not do so. The problems started after I tried to install that. I have to assume that when the installation failed it possibly changed something on the laptop.

Example:

Address type on the PC: Assigned by DHCP
Address type on my laptop now reads: Automatic Private Address... I think this is new and I cannot seem to find a way to change it.

I'm glad you were able to fix it!

Scoot over, Elin. I need to get in the "computer problem" boat. :headache:

DS was supposed to be doing research on global warming yesterday. BUT he got bored with that. So off he went to a Google search of game sites. He claims he didn't download anything, BUT my computer is now infected with pop-up ads that are not stopped by the pop-up blocker, the virus scan or the spyware program.

I found the file and uninstalled it. I ran a virus scan, and I am sweeping for spyware now.
I Googled the name of the thing and the number one result is how to try to get rid of it. The article on removing said "What you have now is a mess." Perfect.

I was already on the brink of strangling DS for his progress reports. Now this! :furious: He went to the grocery store with DH so I can sit here and attempt to fix the computer in peace. I am not happy with him.

I'm glad you were able to fix yours, too. I hope the extra credit projects help.

I was offered the promotion on Friday. We are still in negotiations. Since it will require me getting an apartment and paying my own travel expenses, there is a minimum that I need to cover those costs and not end up taking a loss. I know that my boss wants me enough to pay it but it has to be approved by other areas. I hesitated posting anything here because it isn't public info so hopefully I don't have a stalker from work that will read this and share with others. :lmao:

For those on Facebook, don't congratulate me or anything over there! I have work friends there that would see it.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Molly!

Sorry to hear about all the computer woes, hopefully Eric can help you figure out you delima Elin. I've had decent luck deleting things by searching for files updated by date and deleting them in the past Elizabeth.

We're having car troubles here, Friday we went to start the car and it was totally dead, so yesterday DH put in a new battery, I went to get groceries this morning and it squealed horribly all the way there, so it's now at the shop getting new belts.

Oh no -- I hope nothing else goes wrong. The pics were great of the airshow!

Please explain to me why I was so excited for spring to get here. All it does is bring pollen and grass that needs to get mowed. I was out mowing yesterday and I think I gave myself a sinus infection with all the pollen blowing around.

Vicki - congratulations on the promotion. Good luck getting the details worked out.

We're having the same problems here. It is incredibly windy most days. Jake even started having major problems yesterday. He's gone to school this morning, but he sat in the car with me most of yesterday because it was so cold and windy, and he was sneezing, coughing and snorting!

So, Stevie came over today. It was nice to see him. He will be living up here and doing masonry work for a company he has worked for before. It is good work and good money. He is staying with a friend. I love him but he knows he cannot stay here. ;)

It will be nice to have everyone here for Easter. His girlfriend will drive up to meet all of us when we go to the Outer Banks.

I'm glad you had a good visit.

Great job on the sewing Bernadette :thumbsup2

I agree!

We played soccer and baseball all weekend, not making it in until midnight last night, after getting up at 5:45 yesterday and being gone all day on Saturday.

The good news -- the baseball team won first place at a tournament in Ft. Worth. I was sure tempted to get up later this morning or take the day off, but I resisted.

Good Morning All!!

We were supposed to have a blizzard Friday into Saturday....by Friday night it was downgraded to a winter storm (up to 6 inches)....all weekend long we got a total of an inch. Mother Nature seriously is PMS'ing.

I have told you that Abi has an attitude toward Jim....both girls do really. When they step over the line I make sure to tell them to back off....after this weekend I am tempted to stop that. Jim seems to think because he supplied half their DNA he deserves respect, and can dis the girls but they can't do it back. :headache:

Good Morning.

Somehow I managed to get up an hour earlier than I had too :confused3 I swear the clock said 5:55, but after I showered and walked into the kitchen the clocks were all saying 5:02 :rotfl: My alarm self sets the time so I wonder if it went wonky on me. I haven't gone back in the bedroom to look. I totally considered taking and hour nap, but though I might feel worse when I had to get up again. I guess I'll take a nap after work today as I am dog tired now.

Bernadette the sewing projects look great :thumbsup2

Jen good luck getting everything done this week. It sounds like you're going to be a busy girl. :wizard:

if your clock has an auto daylight savings time set. Then it reset itself sunday morning. We have one of those and it has done that to me twice once it went off an hour early and once an hour late.

oh what a dutus. :wizard::wizard::wizard:for you and the girls. He does not know what he is missing. Give the girls hugs from their Aunt

Marci - Congrats to Andrew and his team! Makes the long weekends worth it sometimes.

Theresa - :grouphug: for all of your girls. Not an easy situation at all, I know.

oh, and what I thought would be a minor annoyance but it's painful. I have a cut on my wrist...right where my wrist rests while on the computer. :headache: How the heck did I cut it??

Marci - :yay: for Andrew and his team. Even with the hats on I picked him out before I had scrolled down far enough to see that you had told us where he was. ;) He has such a great smile!

he does have a recognizable smile doesn't he? Infectious!!

Thanks for all the congrats to Mo on her lost tooth. She was absolutely thrilled to see her name all over Mommy's computer.

Sorry the girls are having power struggles with Jim.

:cool1::cool1::cool1:Congratulations:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I hope that Jake's allergies are managable, and yours too.

Hopefully you will all feel better soon. It is still cold here, I can see my breath today and it's raining :sad2:

I will commute on the week-ends indefinitely until he can move down here. He'll give it a try when the time comes. It could be many years before that happens but I want this job. I don't think I could go back to my old one. I like having decision making power. It makes my life a lot less stressful. :lmao:

Good for you, Vicki! And good for Chuck for being willing! What a keeper he is (but I think you already knew that!)

I'm so glad that you are taking this job! You sound so excited about it!

T-shirts are in the dryer, and the printer is printing the design! Hopefully, I will get them done tomorrow. My sister is helping me with the ironing, and she's also helping me turn a couple of 2T t-shirts into little rompers for Timothy. I'm so glad she's close! Bernadette and Tom are too far away for this sewing emergency!

It's a gorgeous day here! Finally sunny and warm! I'd much rather be outside, but I've got to get these shirts done! Dad wants them done by Easter so he can add some crystals to them. At least for the girls. Should be cute!

I've done all the Easter shopping, too. The kids are getting a DVD, a couple of books, a small toy, and a small amount of candy. Nothing major. I have to haul it all to dad's house, so it can't take up too much room. I know they'll all be excited about the books. This morning, they all told me that they are bookworms, just like mom . That just made my day!

Well, I'm off to check the printer.

Well, it's pretty slow here today

I used this time to do the budget and pay the bills. Thanks to our tax return we now have one less credit card bill :cool1: Now we're moving on to the others :thumbsup2
