Janet, do you eat at the Plaza often? If so, do you use the DDP? I can't seem to make it worth while, unless we paid OOP. I'd love to hear more of your thoughts!

I have eaten here twice & paid OOP both times. The 1st time I was on the DDP(my solo trip), but did not want to use a TS credit there. The second time was with Chanon & Anne Marie & I used the TiW discount. They do not have a fancy menu but the sandwiches I have had were delicious(veggie sandwich & a hamburger). The burger is the best I have had on Disney property. The desserts are really good as well

I was hoping to eat here again this past week, but it didn't happen. We did a walk up & was told it would be about 30 min. We waited & finally I asked how much longer they thought it might be. They said they had already called my name & I could go back on the wait list. I was bummed & would have waited longer had I been alone. Not sure how we did not hear our name as we were sitting right outside

I do not think I would use a TS credit for here, but I think it is well worth paying OOP for!

I forgot to mention - we booked a trip for October! For now, we grabbed a room at VWL for 10/4-10/8, then at OKW for 10/8-10/14. We might end up modifying that depending on whether Kyle gets his vacation requests or not, if we invite my family for part of it, etc, but it's a start!

Hope everyone is having a great night! I went out with my cousin and brother but was exhausted so came home early and have been relaxing for a bit. I cant beleive I actually leave for florida on Thursday!

I got my hair done tonight and am starting my last preparations for the trip! I cant wait!

Jennifer - I'll find the info. for the renter, and PM it to you. As Debbie said, he's a bit more expensive than some might be the earlier you rent out. My parents used him to rent points (on another DIS'ers recommendation) in '05, and liked that they could pay him with their credit card (some extra insurance on the transaction, plus they got airline miles for it). He takes CCs because he has his own business.

Debbie - we got the DVC FP's when we toured in early '06. It worked out perfectly, as it was the AP preview weekend for Everest, and we ended up riding it about 6 times in a row!

I forget who asked - but we love The Plaza! That has become one of our favorite restaurants in all the World - it's simple, good food. The menus is small, but all is good. I love the club sandwich, the burger, or the strawberry salad. Jonathan likes the Reuben, and I think he hopes to try the cheesesteak next. And of course, you can't go wrong with the ice cream!

Becky - I was absolutely horrified to read about what happened to you. It's so unbelievable that if it hadn't happened to one of us, I would almost think someone made it up!! I can't believe you were as calm as you sounded through it all - the aggravation alone wasn't worth $150, let alone the stuff they misplaced! Lots of as you contact Disney re: this. That really scares me about on-site stays in general, and the values in particular. Between you and Tom, they just don't sound like safe places to be anymore!

I have a feeling I'm going to have a hard time sleeping tonight, but it's time to start trying. Good night, DDA!

That's because you have daughters who don't like the characters. I only have one that doesn't care for them and we hide her in the corner so they can't get to her.

But the characters don't do a whole lot for me either... and Bob thinks they all have it in for him! Do you think you could hide all 4 of us in the corner?

Which is better.....Tony's or The Plaza?

We are planning on those for our next trip too. They are not new to us, but it has been 3-4 years since we last had dinner at Spoodles and over 10 since we last ate at Chefs de France!

I asked Bob if he wanted to go to Rose & Crown or Raglan Road and he looked up from his book briefly and emphatically stated, "Raglan!"

I think we will also try Flying Fish for the first time. They have a steak that Bob will eat and they have many items on their menu that I would love to try. So, if you end up coming for part of our trip we will make an ADR for when you are there. That will check another new place off your list!

those are nice! I have so many lithos and prints here that are unframed and looking for a wall. Unfortunately there is no wall for them. I have toyed with the idea of framing them myself in plain black and hanging them at my studio. But I spend half my time in one studio and half in another, so I haven't done that either. I should just do it!

I can't believe what happened to you! Of course we got the same run around and excuses of this never happens here too!

I forgot to mention that Disney did contact us, and credited us for one night of our stay and are giving us a complementary night at a Value on our next trip. After reading what happened to you, I don't think I will be using that night.


Jennifer, we are still waiting for picures. And I did see your scheduled posts on your blog while you were gone. I can't believe that you are all caught up on here and have gone through all of your photos!
I haven't opened up the laptop since we returned, and I have two days of pictures on there that I need to go through!

WE ate at LTT once on DDP, just to try it. The bill was over $100 for the 3 of us. If I was paying cash I would rather go somewhere like Kona!

OMG! If any of DH's camera stuff ever just disappeared out of the room I can not even IMAGINE the wrath that manager would face. That is part of the reason we lowered the deductibles on our insurance - to cover camera and/or laptop theft at WDW. Becky, I am so sorry thathappened to you! I would have been IRATE. And I would not have been calm or polite about it. I hope as you continue up the chain of command that you finally get an acceptable resolution to all of this!

Plaza! We eat at the Plaza almost every trip. It is better than CS for dinner, and with the TiW it isn't any more expensive than CS.
