DDA Chapter 18

Nick's left arm is bothering him. He doesn't remember doing anything to hurt it so we are assuming it is just an overuse issue from Working out on Monday and swimming on Monday and Tuesday. He's a bit of a drama queen so I'm not sure how bad it really hurts. Hunter has blisters on the bottom of all 10 toes, apparently from walking around too much on the concrete at the aquatics center. It seems the same as the ones Colby has on his fingers from rubbing against the concrete :confused3 Those boys need to learn to stay in the water without holding on to the sides. I've been there more than them, but no blisters (of course I don't play nearly as hard)

Deb - The Dr. mentioned the inhaler, but DH turned it down! :headache:  THEN he didn't bother to TELL ME the Dr. mentioned it until way later, after the office was closed! Our ped isn't in on Wednesdays, so the earliest I can call to get the inhaler prescription is tomorrow. :sad2:
DS started coughing a week before he had any other symptoms, so I do think the cough is more of an airway issue than a flu issue. I HATE to send DS tot he Dr. with DH. Absolutely HATE IT. But I couldn't drag Princess to the Dr's office so I had to have DH take DS.

Glynis - Good luck to Katie on those Valentines. Are they the ones in Family Fun? If so, they were really cute. I hope they aren't too difficult to make. :wizard: for your elbow and that it cooperates to bowl this week.

Lisa - Love the picture!

Elizabeth - Hope DS is doing better today. What a night you all had!

Marci - Hope DH finishes up soon and gets to spend more time at home. Not a fun time for him, I'm sure. I remember those guys after many long nights. Good luck with your work stuff too.

Jen - Continued prayers for the firefighter. :wizard:

Deb - Hope your finger feels better today. Crazy how bad injuries can look sometimes even from something minor. Chase accidentally bit my arm on Super Bowl Sunday. She barely got it, but must have hit just the right spot because it was black before she could even stand up and hurt for 2 days. (We were playing and she fell into my arm with her mouth open and it clamped down.)

Yes. Those are the ones. I got the conversation hearts for 18 cents a box, so they are not too expensive. Thank heaven she only has 22 kids in her class.

That's where we got the heart necklace idea for Kassie's party too. Definitely a little harder than in looked, but we also used more slippery heart beads. I think the foil wrapped chocolates would have been easier still.

Everytime Nicholas would get a cold/cough it would turn into something bronchial or breathing related. We would normally have a few cases each winter. Since he's been on his inhaler he has been A-OK! (knock on wood) I hope you can get some relief for DS.

I need you all to send a huge dose of motivation my way today. I decided to stay up and watch the interview with the octuplets mother last night. I headed to bed at 11, but couldn't sleep. So many things about the interview bothered me. She seems like such a huge liar that know I fear for her kids well being. She lied about government support, but then claims she only means "medicaid", they get food stamps and three of the first 6 kids have disabilities and are on disability. She was on disability for at least the last 8 years for a back injury. I think that must have been way exaggerated as she carried 14 kids with that same back over the same period of time. One kid killed my back, yet she was still attending school and out shopping etc. She seems to have figured out how to play the system to not have to work, yet have money coming in, by student loans, disablility, etc. I have to assume they get some sort of state insurance with no income and all those kids they must so medical costs are covered. Then someone pointed out that she had obviously had plastic surgery, which she denied :lmao: They showed pictures of her when she was married and when she had the first kid and her lips were not plump like they are now. Chris said she looked like she got punched in the mouth. During the interview there were obviously similarities drawn to Angelina Jolie with the lips, hair and obsession for Children (of course she denies it and "never made that connection at all, has barely heard of Angelina Jolie") She also claims that she had always had 6 embryos implanted, but only one or 2 developed. That made me wonder if she was trying for sextuplets all along, maybe for the publicity :confused3 or hoping for money :confused3 She did some sort of TV spot for invitro while pregnant with her twins too. Anyway I had difficulty getting to sleep. Then Colby woke up several times with bad dreams, Chris got up at 5:30 to go to the gym and I was up at 6:30 to get the kids ready for school. To make things worse I'm on day 2 of my period and I have enough pressure to make me think my body is trying to pass a grapefruit :scared: Getting older sucks. I ended up taking Advil and going back to bed after the boys went to school. The cramping/pressure is much better now.

But here it is 11:40 am and I've only managed one load of laundry and an early lunch. I haven't even hit the gym. I need the motivation to do so, but when I got on the scale this morning I had GAINED a pound. I totally couldn't believe it as I've carefully eaten all my points and exercised. It make no sense.

My plan is to shower and get the boys stuff out for snowboarding then hopefully I can run to the gym and still beat the boys home. I need to do this and get out of today's funk. I am not sick and I cannot allow myself to create excuses.

Man, the state of Missouri is fast. I sent in our tax returns last week, going in the mail on Wednesday. Yesterday, I already had my $4 check. Yup, all $4 that we got back from the state. :rotfl: Mom figures they weren't worried about the interest they could get by delaying on that huge amount. ;)

Nothing too exciting on the agenda here today. I've got laundry going already. I'm also highly contemplating getting down and scrubbing the kitchen floors as I'm not sure mopping will be enough this time. I also really need to work on getting Christmas stuff down. I know, it's Feb 11. They have to be down in time for Terra's birthday party is all I figure. Speaking of which, I need to get her invitations made today too.

oh thank goodness....our Christmas stuff is still up....I have chosen to let Jim be in charge of them and not nag about getting them down (though I did remind him it is February). He says he wants to be in charge and be a parent....it's been horrific to see it but I am staying firmly out of it.

Good morning, everyone. After 2 days of snow, we're having a nice day here. My plans for the day are to finally leave the house to go grocery shopping. We are getting seriously low on the stales here. After that, I'm meeting a friend for lunch at a little Greek cafe. Yummy! This is a friend that I made in elementary school, then we lost touch with each other when she moved away. About 5 years ago, she found me through my dad's email, and we've gotten back in touch. It's been fun to reconnect!

After that, it's back home for homework and valentine's. I'm so happy that the twins and Jacob decided not to make their own, and to go with the boxed kind. Katie, on the other hand, wants to make her own. They are going to be iPod valentines. They look quite labor intensive, so I'm glad she's old enough to do them on her own. I predict lots of drama involved with them, though.

My elbow still hurts, and it's getting really annoying. I'm hoping for a good day with it. I have to go bowling both tomorrow and Friday, so I'd like it to cooperate. I foresee tylenol in my future.
I came across color your own valentine's cards in walmart. Alyssa originally wanted Camp Rock ones, but then I knew my little artist would love these so I got them. I was right! There are 28 to a box and have a saying and an outlined picture. It comes with crayons and lollipops to attach to the card. She was in heaven!

Cassidy got HSM ones for her friends....my HS'er got valentines for her friends.:rotfl:

Abi's best friend turns 13 on Friday so she will decorate her locker on Thursday after school and then head to her house for a sleep over on Friday. I couldn't believe the mom, I love her to pieces but, she asked if Dude could come too. :headache: Ummmm.....not the sharpest tool in the drawer...why the heck would I send Dude over to a house he doesn't know with at least 10 people in it???

Deb - Lots of motivation :wizard: coming your way as well. I've had several of "those" days lately and totally know how you feel. I'm trying to break free of it today and so far am not doing so well. Well, the basics are getting done, but I was really hoping for some good "extras" done today as well. I couldn't even turn on that interview last night. I'm not sure why exactly, but I just couldn't bring myself to watch it. It's just a crazy situation that I can't even imagine thinking was a good idea.

Deb - I got sucked into that train wreck of an interview too, but fell asleep during one of the commercial breaks. I think they need to track down the doctor who did her invitro and make him be the one to pay for all her kids' assistance instead of burdening the tax payers with it. She has got to be a bit loony.

I couldn't turn it on either, so I watched the other fake show "True Beauty". Those "beauties" crack me up. :lmao:

Deb-lots of motivation :wizard: Pixie Dust heading your way......I am hoping by sending some your way it will get my butt in gear. Though I did clean the kitchen and most of the laundry yesterday, along with 3 job resumes sent.

I watched the octuplet whack job, too. What an idiot. :sad2: So much of what has been said was lies - there is no father, just a donor! She doesn't live WITH her parents, she lives in a house that belongs to them. She isn't young, she is just hugely immature!

What kind of job is she going to get after she graduates that will allow 14 children to live comfortably? She will make more money on welfare than she will working, but she already knows that!

And HOW does one get disability payments for a child with ADHD? I'm curious, because nobody ever said DS could collect disability payments! It sounds like I am missing out on free money! What do you guys think? :confused3 And di she say one of the kids gets a disability check for a SPEECH DELAY? Is that just a California thing?

That poor little autistic guy is going to be lost in the shuffle. I think child services needs to step in and take the octuplets away. Maybe the other ones, too.

I am seriously thinking of trying to get a BLT ressie for 2 of our nights in August. If we arrive Sunday instead of Saturday, and stay Sun and Mon at BLT MK view, then switch over to BCV for the remainder, I'll save myself 16 points. But I'll be cutting my trip by one day. Also, I wouldn't tell anyone. They'd find out when we line up at ME for the bus. What to do, what to do.

It was only the first few days of February that Mom decided she was ready for it to come down. Since then, we just haven't had a chance to get to it. I did manage to bring up some of the boxes last week, but didn't get any further. Today, I'm bringin up a box with each trip to the washer. From there, we'll try to get it down. We're all home tomorrow afternoon so we can work on it then too.

Oh! I am all about that show! What a bunch of fluff! :rotfl2: I usually just watch the last 10 minutes, because they recap everything that happened inthe first 50 and then I see who goes home! But I missed it! So who went home?

Why not? At least call MS and see if you can get the room at BLT.

Well, I think I hear a baby waking up so I had better go get her lunch ready. It's also time to change over the laundry so I'll take that as my cue to get busy on some other stuff. Catch you in a little while everyone!
