anyone going to watch the Westminster Dog Show tonight and tomorrow???

So on Thursday I will be attending the 4th funeral for the year. As my Grandpa passed away early this morning between 4am and 7am. His viewing is on Wednesday and the funeral is Thursday.

The ironic part is 6 years ago today my Pop-pop had passed away. They both passed away on February 9th but 6 years apart. But his funeral and viewing was on Valentine's day. This is not the best time to go as flowers are a fortune. But what can you do.

I am going through pictures. My Aunt and Grandma are here now.

I hope that you are all doing well.

Oh, Becky. I'm so sorry for your loss. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers at this time.

I have no brains left... will I be able to follow it???
Yes, you will be able to follow it. It's really not that bad. It's just that sometimes I would forget who was the real priest that was killed and who was his impersonator. But maybe that's what happens when I read at 10PM and I'm falling asleep in the book. :confused3

Great pictures, Theresa!

Elizabeth - I'm glad you got your trip all straightened out!

I survived 2 1/2 hours of exercise :cheer2: :cheer2: I've very proud of myself. I went in and had a brief orientation to the equipment and I mean brief. I think I knew more than the old guy that was showing it to me :lmao: Since the fitness center was nearly empty when I got there I decided to have the health assessment. Richard put me on a treadmill and upped my speed every three minutes until I was jogging. At each 3 minute mark they check your heart rate to make sure you are progressing at an acceptable rate. Apparently a lot of people never make the jogging phase as the heart rate goes up too fast just with walking :confused3 from there he did a flexibility test (I was way above normal) then a weight lifting test (again way above normal) and last was a lower body strength test. I had to put my back against the wall and lower myself to a sitting postion and hold that position as long as possible. Man did I ever shake, but I still held it for a bit longer than average. He said that was my weakest part of the test. Overall I'm very fit. I really thought he was kidding as I truly haven't worked out in 15 years. So I moved on to the workout equipment and began my circuit. Then I overheard them talking about how fit I was for my age and they couldn't believe that I don't work out :lmao: I was feeling pretty good at that point. I finished the circuit and my muscles were pretty much trembling. It didn't matter, I had gone to swim and swim I would. I took a quick shower and put on my swimsuit. Thankfully it fit as I didn't try it on :rolleyes1 I went to the competition pool. One of the coordinators was out there and she told me that 66 lengths of the pool is roughly one mile. I knew I wouldn't be doing a mile today:rolleyes1 I started laps, alternating strokes, some tiring between the more relaxing strokes. The coordinator was great about cheering me on and giving me encouragement. Of course she knows that I plan to work there which added to the pressure that I put on myself. I ended up swimming 28 lengths in about 20 minutes or so. I was totally spent when I crawled out of the pool. She gave me a big high five and told me she was impressed :lmao: She also suggested that I really stretch out later tonight or I'm going to be sore tomorrow. I think she may have something there. Tomorrow I will probably just do some swimming as I need to let my muscles relax. I really should do upper body one day, lower the next. Live and learn or relearn as may be the case. I ended up stopping in later this afternoon I stopped back in to set up a health assessment time for Chris. The trainer I had in the morning was there and asked if I had considered hiring a personal trainer (i.e. him) and I told him that I thought that I could obtain my goals by September on my own. He laughed and totally agreed, but he said that he had to try :goodvibes So today I faced my nemisis and for now I won. Ask me again tomorrow when everything hurts:scared:
Congratulations! Sounds like a heavy schedule. Don't overdue it so you don't get burnt out too quickly, and I mean mentally.

Okay I'm curious. What is every one doing to save money?

We recycle cans and that is spending money for WDW

I line dry my clothes to cut down on the electric bill.

I use half the amount of soap powders that is recomended

I am considering making my own soap powders when I run out of my curent soap powders.

I use coupons
Honestly, I haven't changed anything. In fact, I'm out looking for bargains, hoping to capitalize on the sagging ecomony.

Becky - I am so sorry for your loss.

Terry - I hope your meds kick in and you are feeling better soon!

I still have a temp.. I went to the Dr and he gave me cough medicine. Told me to stay home tomorrow since i am still contageous.

He asked me if i was having lots of sinus problems and i said yes. He suggested I try a Neti pot. I bought one and will try it tonight. If it helps clear up the sinusus, i will keep it up. Anything is worth getting better.

Love my post count.

I do remember the Hen parties. My favorite one was when Stephanie got a great post count and didn't figure it out for a couple of pages. We were all staying up to see when that would happen. :lmao:
What is a Neti pot? I might need to get one!

Becky, I'm very sorry for your loss. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

So I got off the phone with SanDisk (in India I'm sure) and they say that I physically damaged the card and that nullifies the warranty. I asked to talk to a supervisor but he said we had a poor phone connection and he couldn't hear me.:headache: So I get an email from them with a "case" number and they say that the status is "waiting for customer's response".:headache: :headache: :headache: So I sent an email but I'm sure the response won't be any better. This card sells for $65 on Staples (I paid $35 and had a $60 rebate on 3). I used it ONE time and always had it in a case. How can they say this isn't a quality issue?????

Who knows where I can get some teeth? Another science fair project that I came across was to put teeth in several different beverages (water, milk, oj, soda, etc) and see which decays a tooth faster. Sounds interesting and simple. The article I read suggested checking with a vet. The others that caught my eye were which fruits/vegetable conduct the most electricity and why do some soda cans sink and some float. That last one has to do with the density of the sugar in the soda. If I can find someone who will let us borrow a multimeter, Nicholas is going to want to do the electricity one. It doesn't sound very award-winning, but it's what interests him.

ugh I hate poor customer service.

I picked up KK II today and read one chapter while Alyssa was at ballet. I forgot how strange those books were.

We rarely eat out, never go to the movies though we do rent, but only from RedBox for $1 each. I'm working more at the school and Chris has worked extra Saturdays at work. I drive used cars and only have liability insurance on it. We do have a new truck though. We camp in the summer at campgrounds that have lots of free activities. We always plan our trips to be the most cost effective whether it means using Annual passes for 2 trips then skipping a year or two, taking the camper etc. We let the kids do as many activities as reasonable, but really no more than before. They do snowboarding, bowling league and lacrosse. We did splurge by getting the aquatics center membership, but I'm planning to use it to gain my strength and endurance which will assure my passing the tests that I need for future certification which will give me a job there and a free membership. We use coupons and I have no brand loyalty so I buy whatever brand is on sale. Chris does all the work on our vehicles, we do all of our own home improvements. We are cutting our own wood for our outside furnace. Our last oil bill was $18. We use loyalty points from Price Chopper to get money off our gas bill. It usually costs about $20 to fill Chris' truck. I'm pretty financially conscious in general.

:grouphug: I'm so sorry. How is your grandmother holding up?

Becky I am so sorry to hear this

February 9th is not a good day for me either, as this is the date my father passed away as well.

:grouphug:

I had forgotten about it, but I never win anything anyway. I am an official LuUser :rotfl2: You guys would have had to follow the World for $1 hotel thread to fully understand that :sad2:

If there were 500 prizes and 501 people to win those prizes. I'd be the one that didn't get something. :lmao: That's ok with me. I decided a long time ago that I don't need to win things because I have such a wonderful life that I feel I should not complain.
