DDA Chapter 18

Okay today may not be the day to apply for a job....I spent an hour filling out a company's individual app...to have it swallowed in a "network" problem. Then I have one job that needs to be faxed and then do a follow up call....do I send a cover letter with it?
THEN I am really interested in another job that has the professional interviewer setting up the interviews....I don't know if I want to a) apply and b) if I do apply, do I mention the previous experience I've had with this lady?

Yuck. I would be really aggravated if my application was sucked into cyber never-never land. :sad2:

Yes, send a cover letter with the fax.

Yes, apply! I don't think it matters that you have been interviewed by her already. That was a different job. :confused3

see....I needed Miss Elizabeth to tell me what to do....I am just feeling so far down on myself, I am constantly second (and third) guessing my own decisions.

Plus the app being swallowed (along with all of the stuff I had typed just to get on to the site) just about sent me back to bed!

I survived 2 1/2 hours of exercise :cheer2: :cheer2: I've very proud of myself. I went in and had a brief orientation to the equipment and I mean brief. I think I knew more than the old guy that was showing it to me :lmao: Since the fitness center was nearly empty when I got there I decided to have the health assessment. Richard put me on a treadmill and upped my speed every three minutes until I was jogging. At each 3 minute mark they check your heart rate to make sure you are progressing at an acceptable rate. Apparently a lot of people never make the jogging phase as the heart rate goes up too fast just with walking :confused3 from there he did a flexibility test (I was way above normal) then a weight lifting test (again way above normal) and last was a lower body strength test. I had to put my back against the wall and lower myself to a sitting postion and hold that position as long as possible. Man did I ever shake, but I still held it for a bit longer than average. He said that was my weakest part of the test. Overall I'm very fit. I really thought he was kidding as I truly haven't worked out in 15 years. So I moved on to the workout equipment and began my circuit. Then I overheard them talking about how fit I was for my age and they couldn't believe that I don't work out :lmao: I was feeling pretty good at that point. I finished the circuit and my muscles were pretty much trembling. It didn't matter, I had gone to swim and swim I would. I took a quick shower and put on my swimsuit. Thankfully it fit as I didn't try it on :rolleyes1 I went to the competition pool. One of the coordinators was out there and she told me that 66 lengths of the pool is roughly one mile. I knew I wouldn't be doing a mile today:rolleyes1 I started laps, alternating strokes, some tiring between the more relaxing strokes. The coordinator was great about cheering me on and giving me encouragement. Of course she knows that I plan to work there which added to the pressure that I put on myself. I ended up swimming 28 lengths in about 20 minutes or so. I was totally spent when I crawled out of the pool. She gave me a big high five and told me she was impressed :lmao: She also suggested that I really stretch out later tonight or I'm going to be sore tomorrow. I think she may have something there. Tomorrow I will probably just do some swimming as I need to let my muscles relax. I really should do upper body one day, lower the next. Live and learn or relearn as may be the case. I ended up stopping in later this afternoon I stopped back in to set up a health assessment time for Chris. The trainer I had in the morning was there and asked if I had considered hiring a personal trainer (i.e. him) and I told him that I thought that I could obtain my goals by September on my own. He laughed and totally agreed, but he said that he had to try :goodvibes So today I faced my nemisis and for now I won. Ask me again tomorrow when everything hurts:scared:

Theresa I'll share with you some insight that my husband shared with me. After my workout I stopped to see him and told him of my morning. Then I asked him why if a trainer is telling me I'm fit do I feel like such a train wreck? His reply is that I'm just way to tough on myself. I think you may do the same with yourself :grouphug:

Deb - I'm UBER PROUD of you! 2 1/2 hours??? Way to go, woman! Stretch out now, and take some tylenol to help with the hurting that's probably going to happen later!

I've stretched and done the tylenol and bumped it with Aleve. My back is the only thing tightening up so far and that wasn't one of the muscles that I thought I was over doing it with :headache: No pain no gain...right?

The good news is that I suddenly find myself with a day off. The baby's mom is sick and so she won't be here today. Of course, we have dance this morning and Daisies this afternoon, but still, it's a day off! I have found myself in need of one of those. Looks like we have another nice day in store, if the rain doesn't come in too early, so maybe we'll have a picnic at the park like Terra's been asking to do. Or maybe not since I just saw that it's supposed to be really windy.

Well, I had better go get ready for dance since we've got to leave early to get Phil to work, etc. Happy Monday everyone.

Hope you enjoyed your day Tia!

It is in the 60's again here today & now we are getting some rain. I will take this over snow any day lol

YAY!!!! :cool1: :yay: :cheer2: :dance3:

I was able to get a concierge studio for 2 more nights!! Now we will be checking into our concierge studio on my birthday! Yippee!

And modifying our remaining 4 nights down to standard view would have screwed up our points so I just left them alone.

Now we have a savannah studio Aug. 1-5, and a concierge Aug. 5-15. Great! Now IPO will have to do 10 nights of ADRs for me! I will only have to do 2 nights of ADRs, because the other 2 nights we will eat at US/IOA. I have no clue what we will eat over there. Maybe just CS. :confused3

Congratulations :yay:

Theresa great pictures!

Deb sounds like you had a good day!

 to all that are still not feeling well.

thank you for the warm welcome. I met MrsHeg at a DisMeet a week ago and she invited me to this thread. I don't get on but a couple times a week right now, but love the Disboards. I'm married with 3 kids and don't get to Disney quite as often as I would like. I am planning to rearrange my priorities though.

Welcome Lisa, Yes WDW is a very high priority!!!!

My name is Terry and I am the second oldest person here at 58 years. I have been married for almost 40 years and have three grown children and three grandsons. I wish I could go down more than once a year.
Stephanie (Steffy) and I are "TWINS"

I love this thread. I have so many wonderful friends.

Okay I'm curious. What is every one doing to save money?

We recycle cans and that is spending money for WDW

I line dry my clothes to cut down on the electric bill.

I use half the amount of soap powders that is recomended

I am considering making my own soap powders when I run out of my curent soap powders.

I use coupons

I can't really think of anything new we are doing. We switched to buying groceries at Super Target quite awhile ago. They are WAY less expensive than the grocery store, but their prices have really gone up since I first started shopping there.

We are probably eating out less. We are more likely to get a pizza now than to go out to a restaurant on Friday night.

We have cut down on eating out. I have an entertainment book and try to use those coupons for things.

After the baby is born we are shutting off our land line, I don't want to cut it off quite yet.

We've also decided to drop the insurance on our oldest vehicle down to just what it absolutely necessary.

We both "brown bag it" for lunch

We stock up on the basics when they are on sale

I try to run my errands on the way home, or if it's my day off I plot my path before leaving so that I don't backtrack.

We tried saving cans but after a truckload netted $7.49 we now put them in our recycle bin, someone goes through the neighborhood and picks them out but I'm fine with that, at least they are being recycled.

DH and I will have to sit down and figure out some more things, and I'll need to show a little restraint when it comes to shopping for the grandchildren.

Thank you all for your support, things may not be as bad as I thought, there will still be cuts but hopefully not quite as bad. I can't go into details because there are people who will lose their jobs that don't know yet, I hate knowing and not being able to say anything but it goes along with my position.

This is definitely somewhere we have to cut back on, although paying $3.00 for a $25 gift certificate at restaurant.com was a great deal.
