That's the way to double team it! Have fun!

I'm going to a Hen Party tonight. What is a hen party, you ask? Well, let me tell you. Several years ago, my nephew married a girl from London, England. A few days before the wedding, all the women of the family went out to dinner. A theme was decided upon, and all dressed in costume accordingly. The bride-to-be was then asked to do several humiliating things in the restaurant. Apparently, it's a really good time. I wouldn't know, as I didn't go to that wedding. However, we have another nephew getting married in a month, so we're taking his fiance out for her hen party tonight. She has to dress as a little girl, and the rest of us have to dress as "little old ladies." Now, I'm scrambling for an outfit. Accessories I have. My grandmother had tons of gaudy rhinestone jewelry that I inherited on her death. I just have to find something to wear with the accessories. Sigh. I should have gone to the thrift shop today! Oh well. We'll see what I can come up with!

But when my birthday rolled around in July my father wasn't feeling up to the trip to Virginia so we went to PA instead. He took me aside the day we left to come home and said, "Missy, I don't think your mother and I will be able to make the trip to Virginia next month for Monkeyshine's birthday. So I want you to invite everyone from her Kindergarten class." He handed me a blank check.

Every single child from Kristin's Kindergarten class came to that party. The place was packed. And those "kids" still talk about it now! And Kristin remembers that her Grandpa made sure she had a birthday to remember even though he wasn't there. That trip to visit them that July is one of her last memories of him. :goodvibes

What a wonderful memory :goodvibes

Breakfast at school was really nice. There were a lot of homemade dishes that parents provided. Things like quiche, hash brown potatoes, fruits, donuts, danishes, etc. etc. Each child was called up and presented with a medal by the guidance counselor. The AP also gave them a certificate that was made and signed by everyone in their class, about why they were selected for their Honesty. She was so proud of herself. Here are a few pictures.

Sounds like it was a wonderful morning! Alyssa is such a cutie :goodvibes

Back from the doctor. I have a bad case of tendonitis! Apparently, there's not much they can do for it, except use a little velcro band just under the elbow. I'm still not clear what it's supposed to do, but I'm wearing it. I'm supposed to try not to use my right arm (I'm right handed), and ice it and take tylenol. Ugh! I guess I'm glad it's not a fracture, but I was hoping for a quick fix to take the pain away, and the doctor told me it could last months. Not what I want to hear!

Glynis I hope your elbow heals soon pixiedust:

Debbie the baby shower pictures are great :thumbsup2

Elin & Theresa hope you are feeling better pixiedust:

Glynis have fun at the hen party!

Jennifer look forward to seeing the outfits you bought :goodvibes

Debbie - your DD looks radiant, and wow, did she make out on the gifts! Is that her house, yours or a friends? It's beautiful!

Sounds fun, although I don't know if I'd be up for humiliating myself! I have visions or Carol Burnett's janitor lady!

Debbie I forgot to say that I think our dd looks like you :goodvibes

Well apparently the Sweetheart Swirl is a big deal here, so Garrett will be wearing a tux. We went after school today & picked one out, he looks so handsome! I know I will probably cry when I am taking pictures of him & his date

His date decided on a pink(she said it is a pink/peach)gown. Garrett will be wearing a black tux with gray pin stripes. Right now we have a pink tie to go with it, but that may change once I see his dates dress. She will go with us next Friday to get his tux & to see if the color of the tie matches.

Now I just need to get a corsage & to be on the safe side I am getting Garrett a boutonniere.

Wow, how exciting for Garrett! Is his date a girlfriend?

I just made the mistake of looking at my 457 financial report. It went down 40% in 2008!!!!!! :faint: :sad2: I'm very, very afraid of what 2009 will, or won't , bring.

I got my IRA info and mine is also down 40% :sad2:

Debbie - your shower photos are wonderful!

Tammi - Alyssa looks SO grown up!

Glynis - your poor elbow!

They have know each other for 3 years & say they are just friends ;)

I was talking to her on the phone earlier & she was telling me that Saturday she has an appointment to get her her hair, nails, & toes done. She sounds so excited!

Garrett got his hair cut today, no nails or toes for him lol

Have you all ever looked at my Tags? One of them is about our virtual DDA hen parties that were in abundance when Clare was with us regularly and planning her wedding.
