DDA Chapter 18

Back from the doctor. I have a bad case of tendonitis! Apparently, there's not much they can do for it, except use a little velcro band just under the elbow. I'm still not clear what it's supposed to do, but I'm wearing it. I'm supposed to try not to use my right arm (I'm right handed), and ice it and take tylenol. Ugh! I guess I'm glad it's not a fracture, but I was hoping for a quick fix to take the pain away, and the doctor told me it could last months. Not what I want to hear!

Icky!!

Tammi - It is ONE free ticket. One per household. And non-transferable from what I can tell. They will send me a voucher, and I have to present the voucher along with my photo ID to get the ticket. Chanon is helping me sort it out. It is sort of coming together now. Looks like we will be spending about $500 in order to utilize the one free ticket. :headache:

Can I tell you all how much I hate the new set up of the Disney World site??:crazy2:
The old setup let me look at all of the pricing on the same page....this one does not!

I figured that would be the case.....I bet that is what Universal figured too...one ticket per family means others have to be purchased...smart marketing move!

Great marketing plan for US!

If it were me, it would probably go in the trash if I had to spend THAT much money to use something FREE! :sad2:

With the buy 4/3 free, do you have to buy a package, IE room AND tix? Or can you do room only?

ETA: Nevermind. I found my answer.

I just made the mistake of looking at my 457 financial report. It went down 40% in 2008!!!!!! :faint: :sad2: I'm very, very afraid of what 2009 will, or won't , bring.

Tammi don't you know you are not supposed to look at thoes? ;)

Well the Gyno is out of the way for another year and the Mamo is on the 16th.

I'm not Elizabeth, but had to chime in here. Once our girls were old enough for parties we allowed them to invite as many kids as they had years under their belts. So, the parties got bigger as they got older, but they were certainly more manageable!

There was one exception to the rule and it is kind of a touching story. For Kristin's 6th birthday she wanted to have her party at McDonald's. :upsidedow So we started planning an August party for Kristin plus her 6 friends . We took my parents and my siblings to the beach with us that June and were talking about the birthday party and my parents both thought it sounded like fun and planned to be there, as they had been for every single birthday my children ever had. No matter where we lived they also came to visit us on my birthdays too.

But when my birthday rolled around in July my father wasn't feeling up to the trip to Virginia so we went to PA instead. He took me aside the day we left to come home and said, "Missy, I don't think your mother and I will be able to make the trip to Virginia next month for Monkeyshine's birthday. So I want you to invite everyone from her Kindergarten class." He handed me a blank check.

Every single child from Kristin's Kindergarten class came to that party. The place was packed. And those "kids" still talk about it now! And Kristin remembers that her Grandpa made sure she had a birthday to remember even though he wasn't there. That trip to visit them that July is one of her last memories of him. :goodvibes

What a wonderful story, even if it made me cry.

DEBBIE! You are my hero! :) (Pictures to follow...)

What a sweet story! :goodvibes

I hope you aren't getting sick! :wizard:

Wouldn't you know my mom got a 40% code.... and we had already selected (as I told you) the first half of October for our first vacation choice. Now I don't know what to do, if we should try and switch it or what! We wanted them to come down part of that trip with us, and it would be perfect.... SO close, and yet so far! :sad2:

Yeah, We love pictures!

Breakfast at school was really nice. There were a lot of homemade dishes that parents provided. Things like quiche, hash brown potatoes, fruits, donuts, danishes, etc. etc. Each child was called up and presented with a medal by the guidance counselor. The AP also gave them a certificate that was made and signed by everyone in their class, about why they were selected for their Honesty. She was so proud of herself. Here are a few pictures.

Yes, but...
DS and DH wanted to go anyway. If we put it off until next year chances are it will still cost me $500. So I think we'll probably go over on Monday morning and stay until Tuesday night. We'll end up having 2 rooms Monday night (because we'll just take backpacks with us and leave the rest of our stuff in our studio at AKV) but it will be cheaper than the other options we looked at.

I didn't get my nap in.....somebody was taking a tree out on our street. :scared: Abi will be playing with the basketball band so I guess I will scrounge the money together to go see the game. It's one of the few times my kiddos will play together...and I get to see Cassidy's boyfriend in action. :groom: :lmao:

Great pictures, Debbie! The mama-to-be looks radiant, and I love the lady bug decor! :goodvibes
