Great pictures, lovesdumbo. I love how the castle is all lit up.

Welcome to our little corner of the DIS World! :wave2: You will have to tell us a little bit about yourself!

I am Elin... 57 years old and married to Bob for 35+ years. We have 2 grown DDs. I am a music (piano and composition) teacher. I have been to WDW about 65 times in the past 29 years.

Oh, Anne Marie! Even though it was freezing we couldn't resist!

What a wonderful way to start your trip with that surprise at Tony's!!! Hope you all enjoy more magic during your time at Disney.pixiedust:

Deb, I hope you kick this stuff soon! As odd as it sounds, I think there is a GI bug that is mostly gassy, crampy crap (no pun intended). Kyle and I have both been like that for days - we're talking doubling over sometimes - and have blamed it on everything under the sun (poor eating choices, IBS, stress, whatever). Now, though, we know a dozen people with the same problems, and my girls were up last night all night writhing and screaming with rock hard bellies and gas. :confused3

I hope it ends quickly! :wizard:

I agree! That is exactly what I was dealing with and 2 of my co-workers as well as many students have been complaining of the same symptoms. Hope today is better for you, Deb and Jennifer, Kyle, Avery & Elise! :grouphug:

I kind of figured as much. I just hope that it doesn't linger for too long :wizard:

I know. I have been struggling with it for about a week now and it's not gone (I know not what you wanted to hear ;)).... hopefully it's just because I'm always the sick one! ::yes::

Have a great day, DDA! Stay warm! (I'm so tired of having to say that......... :crazy2: :scratchin :beach: :thumbsup2 )

Good morning, DDA!

DS said one of his theater classmates goes to a school they are closing for the rest of the week because so many kids are out sick. They were on the news last night - 200 out of 800 kids out sick! :scared: It is a private school.

Most of Princess's friends were better yesterday, but I did notice one went home sick. Her teacher said they all have the same hacking cough - the classroom sounds like a TB ward. :sad2:

I hope everybody feels better soon! pixiedust:

Emma is absolutely correct. She HAS to go to WDW this year. In August. Did you know they extended the Buy 4, Get 3 free deal through August 15?

You are quite the saleslady!!!!!:rotfl2:

Welcome back Bernadette! Now I am ready to go back to the Poly, I just loved our stay there:goodvibes

Tom what a great start to your trip! Look forward to reading/seeing more.

Deb sorry you are still feeling bad, I hope this goes away for you soon :grouphug:

I took a 3 hour nap, what are my chances of getting back to sleep at a decent time lol

Thanks for the dittoable Janet. I hope you managed some sleep.

Welcome Lisa! You'll find a great group of people here!

Hi Lisa, Welcome!!!

Hi Lisa, Welcome!!!

I think I fell back to sleep around 1:30. Oh well other than taking the boys to school, I have nothing planned for today.

What a great way to start your trip :thumbsup2 I hope that the rest of your trip is just as magical :cheer2:

I know that is what my mother said too. I have it all figured out though. The last time I was sick this much was the year I got my first flu shot. Got my second one this year so it figures that I would be sick a ton this winter. No more flu shots for me. Oh I had some raspberry pie yesterday. I figured that I wasn't going to keep it long anyway :crazy2:

I'm hoping that I'm on the mend though I have a fat lip from the cold sores and my tummy is making some horrible noises :scared: We are off to school this morning. Nick gets his award. I will not be subbing today though. If I need to run I can't be standing in front of a bunch of kids:scratchin

I'm sorry you guys are feeling crappy. As Elizabeth said, we have illnesses virus/flu running rampant around here and a private school is closed for the rest of the week. The DJ on the radio made what I thought was the "stupid comment of the day" about the school, remarking that it wasn't even the height of flu season yet, that it is usually mid-Feb. OK -- isn't that just a week away? It's not like it's the same time every year. It just kind of struck me as stupid. I know she was probably trying to say it will get worse before it gets better, but I still thought it was a stupid comment to make filler.

We got to Andrew's ortho appt., and they found that the bracket on his back bottom tooth is gone. He mentioned something felt loose the night before we left for Disney, and Randy looked in his mouth but I guess, didn't notice it was gone, since it's on the very back. They didn't have time to put it back on, so they put a new wire in and a separater between the teeth where the new band will go, and I have to take him back next week. His mouth is very sore, and he has to go through it again next week, as they'll have to put another new wire in. I really hate the whole braces thing. I'm hoping he doesn't lose more weight.

Jake has his last basketball practice tonight. I finally talked to Andrew's soccer coach, and he isn't coaching this season. We've been with him for six years. I understand, though, because his grandson isn't playing. It's an awful lot of work with kids who have attitude. About half the kids on the team I can't really stand to be around. I'm hoping that will mean Andrew won't play, as there are a number of kids that aren't going to play. He will go to a soccer camp this summer, and probably play for his school next year.

Gotta run -- the admin came in sick yesterday, so I convinced her to go back home. Probably not before she spread her germs around here. Have a good one!

Good morning, DDA!

Hate to post and run, but we've got a busy day. We've got to leave in 5 minutes to take Phil to work, grab some breakfast after that and head to MOPS. After that, we'll get some lunch quickly before meeting the Realtor to see some houses this afternoon. These are the houses I had picked from the listings so I'm really excited to see them. Maybe we'll get lucky and find the right one today!

I'll try to catch up later!

Welcome home Bernadette!

Tom - Glad you had such a magical first day.

Feel better everyone! That sounds like what I had a couple of weeks ago. :wizard:

Nick got his high honors award. His name was also drawn for a free DVD rental. Apparently they were having behavorial issues at recess so the kids that did not get in trouble last quarter were put in a drawing for random prizes. :thumbsup2 It's good to know that he didn't get in trouble at recess :thumbsup2

I'm home and back in my comfy warm clothes. I'm sitting here with the heat on 72 in sweats, turtleneck and sweatshirt and I'm still cold
Smilies.gif
After I get this load of laundry switched around I'm going to get in my bed and turn up the heated mattress pad.

Marci - Sorry about the bracket on Andrew's braces. We were lucky to make it all the way to the end without any bracket or wire issues. Well, nothing broke or came off. DS had a few problems with things poking him.
I think not playing soccer sounds like a good decision. :thumbsup2
