DDA Chapter 18

Everyone must be enjoying their Saturday. It's 67 degrees here, so I went out and washed the van. Got all the salty road spray off of it. Now I can see out the windows.

Bernadette - good luck planning your trips!

Wow, we were supposed to see the mid 30s today. 67 I think I'd have to lay out on the deck and catch some vitamin D. The aquacenter opens on Monday and I am as pale as a ghost. I'm glad you got outside.

I was strictly foollowing DDA orders and resting. I didn't really sleep, but I did lay down for a while. Right now I feel good, but I just had a snack so I'm hoping that doesn't make things worse

Bernadette - good luck planning your trips!
Thanks! I don't think I can really do a F&WF trip-it doesn't work well with the budget schedule and I don't think I'll have enough vacation time.

I just have to figure out how to stand up for myself with the May trip without being taken the wrong way by a good friend.

Bernadette, I do not envy you. It is not fun to have to navigate around extra people on your trip. Uncle1 e-mailed me that they have booked a trip to Yellowstone the end of June, so I am feeling pretty safe now! ;)

Not here! My in-laws won't leave! :crowded:

SO...if you go on a trip with me be prepared to be up early!!!

:rotfl: Actually.....it was about 7:30am so not that early....the camera exposed the shot off the bright sun but I thought the picture was pretty cool. I took it from the monorail ramp. We had a ride with the driver over from the Poly.

The park was pretty empty and they soon let folks through the gate. There were only a few folks in front of us so it was easy to walk a bit faster and get this great empty shot.

I wish I had taken the time to take more photos but I was hoping if we were the first ones to check in at Crystal Palace Lizzy might be chosen to open the place but instead this is what we found:
DSC_0212.jpg

They weren't ready to open and never did an "opening" thing. Lizzy would have loved that! I did notice a few changes here too. They had Mickey waffles instead of Pooh character ones and instead of a made to order omlet they offered 3 choices. They were made for you so I don't know if they would make one that wasn't one of those 3 choices as I didn't try. The characters were very slow coming around so we didn't get out til after 9am. Lizzy wanted to ride Dumbo (I did too :goodvibes ) so we went there first. You can see the park was pretty empty!

Next up was the carousel. It was almost as if we had the ride to ourselves.

Lizzy's favorite horse:

Next up was Pooh:

By now it was about 9:40 so thanks to Amy who said they opened Toontown around 9:45 we headed over there and they were just dropping the rope. We were right with the rope drop crowd when we got in the Fairy line. The sign said 20 minutes but we really waited over 45 minutes. We saw Tinkerbell and Iridessa. The set up was really cool but so slow! They gave us a small photopass card (the waterpark kind) so that was cool because I could attach it to my camera strap and always have it handy.

Forgot to add in above post about the sunrise photo.....can you see the Spaceship Earth like balloon thingy??? I don't know what that was-probably some promo thing for DVC.

So after the fairies we hit Minnie's house-crowds were picking up....but still a short wait for Goofy's Barnstormer.

We took the path over to Tomorrowland and got a fast pass for Space Mountain.
DSC_0329.jpg

I just love these things!
DSC_0376.jpg

Next up was the speedway. Lizzy had never done this and it was only about a 15 minute wait. Now this is love as I hate those things but I've got to say it is more fun to be a passenger than try to drive those cars.:rotfl:

This was our warmest day. The forecast said 84 but I don't think it really got that warm. Lizzy cooled off in the misting fans. We greeting Buzz then got a fastpass for his ride. We tried to ride Space Mountain but it was down so we did Carousel of Progress instead.

As I was "resting" in COP I remember that Lindsay said she'd be in the park so I gave her a call when we got out. She was just sitting down at the Plaza so we walked over to say hello to her. It was so nice to see her again and her Mom!! (sorry we didn't think to get a photo) She said her Dad had gotten stuck on Space Mountain and had to walk off. That sounds pretty cool but I would be worried doing that with Lizzy!

We got lunch at Casey's then went to ride Buzz. We saw that Space Mnt was open so we rode that. Surprisingly the walk on folks were getting on just as fast as the fast pass-you'ld think after a break down there would be lines-maybe people were afraid to ride it.

We rode the TTA-I am still crushed that it won't be open for my trip with Joe. I love taking photos from up here. How lucky is that train shot?

Then we headed out of the park as Lizzy was very anxious to get in the pool!!!!!!

We got another ride with the monorail driver back to the Poly. This is a lounge area in the building were in at the Poly-we never sat out there but it gave a nice "homey" feel to the place.

Great Photo Bernadette. It looks like you picked the perfect time to visit. At least it wasn't too crowded in those photos. Crystal Palace is Hunter's favorite too. We were just talking about eating there this morning.

Forgot to say we saw Daisy & Pinochio on the way out of MK.

I called down to Bell Services about my groceries-I waited too long and couldn't schedule a delivery for our arrival day. The bell man was great but was worried about not seeing an invoice from Garden Grocer. I later realized that we hadn't received our frozen PBJ's-the receipt was in that bag in the freezer-still in Bell Services.

Lizzy LOVED the pool!!!!! I tried it out but the water was cold!!! She tried the slide and said it was fun but it was too cold waiting in line to go down it so she only did it once.

After a long swim in the volcano pool she also wanted to try out the quiet pool. That pool has a 7' 8" section-I didn't know Disney pool got that deep.

We went back to the room and get dressed for Epcot. It was about 6pm when we got to TTC and got a ride with the driver again. I love that ride with the driver as the monorail goes through the park. This was the last time we did a driver ride on the trip.

We did Figment then had dinner at Sunshine Seasons

Seems like the colored lights weren't on the fountain.
DSC_0530.jpg

We road Spaceship Earth and learned that you can send that video home to yourself.

DSC_0544.jpg

We found our Leave a Legacy and took the monorail back to TTC-our first regular car ride of the trip:
DSC_0557.jpg

We came back to the room and got Bell Services to find and deliver the lost PBJ's then went to the beach to watch the Electric Water Pageant-we even got a hammock. I was a bit cool in jeans and a T but it was nice.

We went to Captain Cooks and got a brownie for me and Mickey Bar for Lizzy and ate them on our balcony taking in the Poly music, tiki torches, hearing folks enjoying the pool-it was really very magical! What a first full day!!!!!!

It worked! :cool1:

Bernadette, what great shots! How wonderful that the park was so empty!

Thanks guys!! I really wish I could say we had great weather and low crowds the entire trip. That was definately our best day for weather & crowds. I'm pretty excited that my birthday is a Wednesday. I think Wednesdays are good for MK!:thumbsup2 We'll start the day with an 8am CP breakfast!:cool1:

Jennifer-glad they are gone!!!!

Robyn - looks like Em and her friends and the Dads had fun!

Deb - I sure hope you feel better tonight!

We finally got the brochure for Point Sebago. We booked June 21 - 27. Turns out that many of the activities start on the 20th and we won't be checking in until late afternoon on the 21st so we would miss a few tournaments including shuffleboard which is Hunter's favorite. Chris and I decided to forgo time on the coast and book extra days at Point Sebago. I'll call tomorrow and add at least Friday and Saturday night though we may add Thursday too as the add says Thursday night is 60% off. I need to make sure I call tomorrow though. We have snowboarding tomorrow. It's a make up day. Lessons are at 10 AM. We are hoping to be able to stay until mid to late afternoon. I haven't checked the weather yet.

If it's given with the intention of her wearing it to the Swirl, unless you know what the neckline of the dress is, I'd stay away from a necklace. Maybe earrings or a bracelet.

I was able to see her gown & a necklace would go perfect with it & the color matches Garrett's tie :thumbsup2

Good morning...

Here are a few pics from Em's Father/Daughter dance last night. Em and Eric had a great time. Thank god for Gail, Emma and I raided her closet!

Great pictures Robyn, looks like they all had a good time!

It sounds an awful lot like prom.....

how about earrings?

I am going to have Garrett found out what type of jewelry she likes.

I did order the corsage today along with a flower for Garrett!

It got to 64 here today :cool1: My truck needs a good washing as well.

Bernadette your pictures are awesome & now I am feeling home sick :guilty:
