we are hoping the same thing! I left a voice message on Kristin's phone to be alert when she comes in tonight!!
I'm sure he's gotten outta Dodge. It was domestic related, so he won't want to stay around and get caught.

Yep I heard about that. Husband was served with an emergency protective order on Wednesday. He shows up today and shoots the wife as she pulls into the driveway with her teenage son in the vehicle. She was killed. :sad2:

so sad

Debbie - Aubrey certainly doesn't have that newborn look. She was c-section, correct? So precious.

Looks like from your post a while back the only days that we will be at the same parks is the day of your arrival & the following Mon., both at MK.

We are going to try this trip without hoppers, so I am going against the grain & going to parks with EEH.

I hope we can meet up, even if just for a few minutes!

I hope to meet up with you as well.

I am hoping to do without park hoppers as well. Just do not want to spend the money. Although I may break down and upgrade.

When is your last day in Florida?

I guess I need to make sure I have clothing that fits.

I have started my list of things I would like to buy the night I get there at Target or Walmart.

I have to print out documents and things.

I hope I get my Universal ticket thing.

At least I have my WDW travel documents.

Stephanie is staying home again today. The fever seems to be gone, but she's still totally stuffed up. I may take her with me to work for a couple hours. She can play on the computer and watch movies on my laptop.

Kelli - I hope Stephanie is doing much better this evening, and will be good to go on Monday! :thumbsup2

I am sooooo furious this morning. It all started when I was getting ready for work and was listening to the Early Show in the background. They had an organization on there called Angels in Waiting, who made an offer to Octomom to provide her with a house and around the clock medical care for ALL of her 14 children, cost-free. This will cost the organization $130,000 a month and they are hoping to get donations from the public.

I could have just screamed. Here's a woman that has thought about nothing other than herself. Not about the health of her children or what kind and how she would provide a life for them. Then there is the doctor that aided in this. Why are these 2 people not held accountable for their actions.

After that this whole foreclosure crap got on my nerves, about how the govt. is going to make it easy for people who are facing foreclosure to revamp their loans.

Then to top it off my kids have a father that expects that he should get our children for holidays because he is entitled to them, like they are trophies on a shelf that he can take down and play with whenever he wants, and put them away when he is finished.

I am so sick and &^%$^&( tired of people getting hand-outs because they are "entitled" to them. People get themselves into situations and want the rest of the country to 'rescue' them.

Where is my rescuing? My handout? My piece of the pie? I have to work like crazy and sacrifice so I can provide a decent life for myself and my kids. Why do some people think that this doesn't apply to them????

I'm sorry if this upsets or offends anyone. I guess the reason that all of this stuff bothers me is because it sits so close to home for me. Sorry, but I am over the top infuriated by all of this.

Tammi - lots of   for you, and the situation with your ex.

I agree with what you posted, too. I have tried not to watch much about "Octomom" because it makes me crazy. My heart aches for those children, who don't deserve the life they've been born into. Any health care provider that had a hand in this woman's situation should be held personally accountable as well.

I just saw a comment made by Mike Huckabee - the difference between our parents' generation and the one now is that our parents were willing to make sacrifices today, so their children would have opportunities greater than theirs tomorrow. Nowadays, our country seems to be operating on the preference of stealing the opportunities from our children, to fulfill the needs of today.

I inherently believe in the American spirit - the hardscrabble, innovative, "I will do and have better tomorrow if I work hard enough" attitude. My fear is the proportion of this spirit amongst those who call themselves Americans today is being slowly replaced by many that believe that the government must and will solve their problems - they hold no responsibility or inclination to do for themselves.

I whole heartedly agree. She doesn't need money or assistance, she needs counseling and her kids need to be put into foster care with parents that have some sort of brain function. The whole welfare system is out of control. I guess maybe I should have applied for assistance instead of taking on a third job :confused3 I'm sure we would have made out better in the end, but that is not how I'm made. It is MY responsibility to provide for my family, I don't feel that I'm entitled to anything. My new job will just about make up the difference in what Chris isn't bringing home with this weak economy. His paychecks have been down $300 - $400 per week. You haven't heard any complaints from us, we are just reevaluating our priorities and figuring out how to bring in more income. It's too bad that so many people are unwilling to do just that, but they are willing to whine and cry until they are given things :sad2:

You go, girl!

No hospitalization for now, and hopefully not at all. She sounds bronchiolitic now on top of the pneumonia (it IS a word! ;)) so he was a bit concerned, but she's acting 1000x better (which isn't saying much) and we all feel comfortable staying home and hoping the oral meds keep doing the trick. The MD pretty much said it helps tremendously that he knows us and trusts that Elise is in good care at home with an RN and MD, to where the only reason to hospitalize would be strictly if she needs IV meds. We're to keep temping her every 3 hours, and if it spikes again we'll be directly admitted. He's fairly confident it won't happen, as am I. Let's pray that confidence isn't unfounded! :)

Jennifer - continued prayers and  for all 4 of you!

I personally believe that the MAJORITY of people who are on welfare are not scamming the system...I think it is a good program for people who are in need. God forbid any of us would sadly be in the position of needing it....but if we did, thank God it's there.

I also think it's good there will be a program to help people facing foreclosure...not everyone is a deadbeat. I look at my sister who has worked her entire life....has a disability....has a husband who had such a massive stroke he will never be "normal" again....was laid off and now she could lose her house. It's easy to lump everyone together....but to me it's not so simple.

Octo mom is whack job....it is unfortunate that her bad decisions put so many others in a bad light.

I agree with you, too, Kristine - there is a time and place for these programs, and situations like your sister's are certainly deserving of them. I bet if you asked your sister, she would much prefer to be employed and doing for herself like she was before all these other problems befell her family - and I think that's the fundamental difference. There are those that see welfare, food stamps, govt. assistance, etc. as a very temporary stop - but I think more and more are treating that sort of lifestyle as a job to maintain in and of itself - and these programs just can't survive and do the most good when they're being bled dry by those that don't want beyond them.

Jennifer - I hope Elise continues to improve!

Let me say there is NO WAY Mom could have gotten through her cancer treatments (which ended yesterday, BTW) without assistance if she didn't have double insurance coverage. Even WITH health insurance AND cancer insurance her bills are staggering. She's hanging in there, but if she did need food stamps or help paying for her meds or whatever beyond the help I can give her then I am SO thankful there are programs to help!

It is easy to be blinded by the scammers, because those are the people who tend to be in the spotlight.

I'm so glad to hear this - continued prayers that the complications and side effects will go away soon. :wizard: :wizard:

I hate when the oak and elm and other trees start blooming. I have had an allergy headache for 2 days now thanks to them

I think I have allergies, too, Jennifer, and it will be good when I'm not having to blow my nose all the time! Hang in there!

We leave on the 11th!

P.S. Chanon says to call your local AAA office & ask them to reissue a card for you.

Congratulations Chanon and Bob! :goodvibes

Since things happen in threes, who's having the third baby? ;)

Not me...for a little while anyway. :teeth:
