Happy Birthday to "C" and a fun night out for the "B" family!
Marci, thank you for your thoughtful birthday card!
Your trip report has been so fun to read.
And, Elin, I totally forgot to thank you for the lovely e-card. Alyssa really enjoyed watching the fairy.
Another big round of
for the DDA! My goodness...
Theresa, I'm sorry about the job, and I hope today's testing ends up being fun and challenging, resulting in something great!
Debbie, I hope your mouth pain subsides soon.
Glynis, I hope Timothy is feeling better. Poor little guy and poor Mommy!
Anne-Marie, I hope you get a much better house offer soon.
Vicki, lots and lots of
for all you're going through.
Robyn, I hope your strenuous Friday passes quickly!
I know I'm missing people, and I apologize.
All our snow days worked to our advantage because the kids have been sick, but since Alyssa's cough has been horrible, I made her an appointment this morning. While we were there, I also dropped enough hints that my doctor checked out Noah's and Matthew's ears too. The verdict: Alyssa has a double ear infection, Noah has a double ear infection, and Matty has fluid, and with his history, that always turns into an ear infection. Three prescriptions to fill! Alyssa never complained about her ears once...Noah, I was suspicious, because he's been waking up every 2-3 hours again. So, hopefully with the meds, everyone will be feeling good again soon.
Meanwhile, we hardly had any hot water yesterday, and I was really worried. Luckily, when Kevin came home from his budget meeting, he realized it was a quick fix. It seems a nosy child was goofing around in the laundry room, and turned the water heater thermostat to a low setting. I thought Matty was the culprit, but this morning, after I was telling Alyssa how dangerous it was to play with things like that, she confessed. It would be wonderful if this sense of "guilt" sticks around through her teenage years! And, I only feel slightly guilty that I suspected Matty, because Alyssa confessed before he even woke up, so he didn't get lectured.
As soon as Noah and Alyssa (she was up at 6:30 a.m. again) wake up from their naps, we're headed out to fill prescriptions.
I hope the DDA has a great weekend ahead!

I did some Food & Wine Pairings with him at Le Cellier and found him to be very personable and we all know he is a great chef. Most of what we love about Le Cellier food-wise is his doing. But I don't know how much influence the chef has over service. It will be interesting to see.
We had no time to do our driveway - which had gotten 8 inches in 12 hours. We made a path wide enough to get my car up the driveway and in the garage and left. The turnpike was clear so our travel time didn't get extended at all. Despite the reason for traveling to Detroit, it was a good visit.

Of course I have way too many hours invested in the repairs, but I did it
