DDA Chapter 17

Happy Birthday to "C" and a fun night out for the "B" family! :cake:

Marci, thank you for your thoughtful birthday card! :goodvibes Your trip report has been so fun to read.

And, Elin, I totally forgot to thank you for the lovely e-card. Alyssa really enjoyed watching the fairy. :)

Another big round of :wizard: for the DDA! My goodness...

Theresa, I'm sorry about the job, and I hope today's testing ends up being fun and challenging, resulting in something great!

Debbie, I hope your mouth pain subsides soon.

Glynis, I hope Timothy is feeling better. Poor little guy and poor Mommy!

Anne-Marie, I hope you get a much better house offer soon.

Vicki, lots and lots of pixiedust: for all you're going through.

Robyn, I hope your strenuous Friday passes quickly!

I know I'm missing people, and I apologize. :grouphug:

All our snow days worked to our advantage because the kids have been sick, but since Alyssa's cough has been horrible, I made her an appointment this morning. While we were there, I also dropped enough hints that my doctor checked out Noah's and Matthew's ears too. The verdict: Alyssa has a double ear infection, Noah has a double ear infection, and Matty has fluid, and with his history, that always turns into an ear infection. Three prescriptions to fill! Alyssa never complained about her ears once...Noah, I was suspicious, because he's been waking up every 2-3 hours again. So, hopefully with the meds, everyone will be feeling good again soon.

Meanwhile, we hardly had any hot water yesterday, and I was really worried. Luckily, when Kevin came home from his budget meeting, he realized it was a quick fix. It seems a nosy child was goofing around in the laundry room, and turned the water heater thermostat to a low setting. I thought Matty was the culprit, but this morning, after I was telling Alyssa how dangerous it was to play with things like that, she confessed. It would be wonderful if this sense of "guilt" sticks around through her teenage years! And, I only feel slightly guilty that I suspected Matty, because Alyssa confessed before he even woke up, so he didn't get lectured. :teeth:

As soon as Noah and Alyssa (she was up at 6:30 a.m. again) wake up from their naps, we're headed out to fill prescriptions.

I hope the DDA has a great weekend ahead!

oh no poor Kiddos.pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:      to all

Elizabeth - Just in case I miss you in all the hullabaloo... I hope you and everyone else has a terrific time at DS' party!!

Robyn - You need to slow down, woman!

Elin, did you know this? Maybe it has something to do with the less the exemplar service on Christmas Day.

Chef Brian Piasecki has left Animal Kingdom's Jiko and is now the new Chef de Cuisine at the California Grill! Brian started with Walt Disney World over eighteen years ago with the Disney Culinary Apprenticeship program. He then proceeded to round out his experience at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and Epcot’s Coral Reef restaurant.

As a Chef de Cuisine, Brian lead the culinary teams at Epcot’s Le Cellier and Rose and Crown complex. Most recently, as Chef de Cuisine at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Brian has worked extensively on the opening operational aspects for the upcoming Kidani Village project.

Actually, I had heard that and wondered the same thing. I know that while he was at Jiko we had terrific meals but never terrific service. :confused3 I did some Food & Wine Pairings with him at Le Cellier and found him to be very personable and we all know he is a great chef. Most of what we love about Le Cellier food-wise is his doing. But I don't know how much influence the chef has over service. It will be interesting to see.

Chanon - I am glad that you and yourBob are home safe and sound.

Don't know if this helps anybody, but I saw this posted elsewhere today:

My CM DD just texted me that starting next Friday (2/6), Fantasmic! will be performed three nights a week -- Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.? She thought this would be especially helpful to "creativecarriet" for her upcoming trip since she was having difficulty fitting it into her schedule.

Welcome home, Chanon. I'm glad you made it safely there and back.

Amy - :grouphug: for your little ones and their ears. I hope things begin to improve mood-wise at your house once the meds kick in!

Morning DDA!

Our drive was quite fun. :faint: We had no time to do our driveway - which had gotten 8 inches in 12 hours. We made a path wide enough to get my car up the driveway and in the garage and left. The turnpike was clear so our travel time didn't get extended at all. Despite the reason for traveling to Detroit, it was a good visit.

Looks like I'm sending a blanket of pixiedust: to everyone!

welcome home

Elizabeth Happy Birthday to your ds!

Ditto

Thanks for all the well wishes, my mouth is improving daily but for some strange reason my neck hurts today. :confused3

Glynis - I hope Timothy is feeling better :grouphug:

My nephew is having his first birthday this weekend and I am at a delima as to whether to go or not. We were originally not invited, but at the shower Sunday my niece and daughter were talking about it when I walked up, my daughter asked me if I was going and I said I didn't know anything about it, my niece got a "deer in the headlights" look on her face and said oh, you're invited. Tuesday I got an invitation in the mail that had been sent out Monday. I don't really want to go but I fear the fallout if one of us doesn't show up.

Theresa no ice cream for my cousin. The doctor said it causes to much phlegm which causes much coughing that leads to an irritated throat. But I had gotten her some Winnie the Pooh stencils with markers.

Ya all know that I live in a development right? well we are to get yet another storm. Where in the heck are we going to put it all? :sad2:

Theresa - good luck with the test today!

Glynis - I hope Timothy did okay through the night.

Deb - Are you going swimming this weekend? ;)

It doesn't open until Feb 9th. We are touring it tomorrow though. I can't wait for it to open. I've never been so excited about excerise in my life :goodvibes That is the last piece of my diet plan and I need to get it in place. I truly hope to be in terrific shape by my big 4-0.

Vicki- pixiedust: for Chuck's mom and :grouphug:'s for you and Chuck. pixiedust: that Becky makes the right decision.

Theresa- I am so sorry, but the right job is out there for you.pixiedust: Glad you all fun at the game.

Debbie- So sorry about all the dental woes.

Glynis- I hope Timothy had a good night last night. pixiedust:

Elizabeth- Hope DS's party is a smashing success tonight!!!!

Tia- Hmm, maybe a trip to Target is in store for me this weekend, all by myself.

Tammi- That cooking academy looks like a fabulous thing. I wish we had one closer.

Deb- Yay for your aquatics center membership.

For anyone I may have missed. pixiedust: and :grouphug:'s

Brownies last night was just a tad overwhelming. I don't know if it was the fact the kids had been out of school for 3 days or that I just was not up to controlling them last night or that my helper was not there to reign in the girls. What ever it was, I got home at 9pm and was in bed by 9:30.

Today is another day that is off our routine. Eric is home and getting ready to leave this afternoon. Once all my daycare kiddos arrive I am packing them up and headed over to my sisters. She has an appointment so I will watch the 4 I have and the 2 she watches. Eric will take Mo to school and then I'll get her and also Emma and Allyson when then get out. I am pretty sure that with all the commotion there will be no naps and a general craziness to the day. Thank goodness I will be ALONE tonight!!

I am off to shower and get ready for the day. Make it a great one!!

Enjoy your alone time.

Elizabeth Happy Birthday to your ds!

:wizard: I hope that your kiddos get better quickly. One child with an ear infection is bad enough, but three :faint: :scared:

Debbie Happy Birthday to your oldest daughter :bday:

Oh, dear. That makes it very tough indeed. How old is Becky? I assume she cannot pay for college, her car and her insurance. That makes it very hard for you all, I agree. I am so sorry. What ever makes them think they are all grown up and can make all their own decisions but rely on parental financial support? :grouphug:

That's been my question?! Becky is 19 and will be 20 in July. If she gets married in December, she'll be the same age as I was when I married Chuck. However, I told her there is a big difference between her & I. I left home at 17-3/4. I supported myself entirely from that time on and lived on my own except for going home one summer.

My laptop is functioning once again :cool1: Of course I have way too many hours invested in the repairs, but I did it :thumbsup2

The boys are home from school. Nick got straight A's (and only one was an A-) Hunter missed with one B+ and Colby is doing well on the learning spectrum (that is how they grade K-2). The boys don't realize it yet, but I've cooked up a little celebretory party for tonight. My Mom is coming and so will my Dad if he gets out of work early enough. I picked up balloons while I was out today as well as brownies (for the kiddos) and some plastic champagne glasses (for their soda ;) ) I'm sure they'll enjoy a little extra praise for their hard work. My Mom is bringing a pizza for the kids and I'm making homemade ww friendly pizzas for the rest of us. It should be fun. I rented a few DVDs too.

If they are truly in love then why do they Need to marry so quickly? Why not wait until she graduates? Chris and I were engaged my freshman year of college, but we didn't get married until after we both graduated. It certainly didn't kill us to wait.

well, phooey!! Cool present though:goodvibes
