DDA Chapter 17

Snow day for us! It looks to be about 2-3 inches, plus ice on top of it..im planning on staying in all day! Its like a sick day i didnt have to take :)

Good Morning DDA

Right now things are closed. Or I should say MOST things. I was actually able to work from home last night, so I am caught up with my work. (As much as I can be from home) :goodvibes

I am looking out the window and cannot tell how much has fallen but it looks to be a lot. We will be the last place for the plow to come to, so that will be a factor on when we get cleared here. I even heard something sounding like sleet earlier so we have to contend with icy conditions as well. For now, I will be staying home until it gets cleared out here.

Please be safe if you have to go out in this yucky stuff. pixiedust:

Jennifer adorable pictures. :goodvibes

Love how one was so smiley and they other was meh.

P.S. I will never remember which is which.

Apparently my girls think 6am is an appropriate time for babies to wake up and play. No matter what I do to deter this.......

Heidi, Avery was really sleepy. It's a wonder she lasted at all! :rotfl:

2 hour delayed school start here.

Well I don't watch the news and no calls here, but if I had to guess school is closed since we had 4" when we got up this morning. No ice noise yet, but it could be a quite ice. :rotfl:

Well, they've changed our forecast, but I'm not sure if it's better or worse!

We ended up with about 8 inches of snow yesterday, before the ice came (and packed it all down).

Then we got (so far) about 0.6 inches of ice. The ice was supposed to turn into other wintery crap by 4am, but it hasn't yet.. They expect it to continue to fall until it warms up, hopefully not more than another hour. We probably will hit that 1" of ice - they are calling backyards and driveways skating rinks, which is pretty accurate!

The "good" news is that, because the ice is falling hours longer than it was supposed to, we should only get 3 inches of snow on top when the system changes this morning, rather than the 6 more that we were supposed to! :rotfl:

Yuck yuck yuck. I hope the roads are clear(ish) by the time Kyle is driving home. I'm slightly nervous as it is when he's driving home after 35 hours working and not a wink of sleep. If he's on the road for hours, hitting ice and driving defensively between Cincinnati idiots that can't drive in any sort of precipitation, I'll really be concerned! :sad2:

We got sleet or freezing rain yesterday evening and overnight. All the schools around here are closed, but we had today off anyway for a teacher workday. I'm going to venture into work. Need to save my leave for summer!

Is she your sleeper?

I know you said that they will change facial expressions, but it just seems that every time I see pictures the one seems to be a bit of an old soul.

Good morning. :)

Be careful, everyone, if you are going anywhere today.

Is she your sleeper?

I know you said that they will change facial expressions, but it just seems that every time I see pictures the one seems to be a bit of an old soul.

Actually she's not! Elise is a MUCH sounder sleeper. She actually beams when I put her in her crib to sleep, whereas Avery will fuss/cry every single time and fight it as much as possible. Additionally, Elise can sleep in public, whereas Avery is still too curious!

But which one, say, in the snow pictures? Left or right? .... because I know who you usually say does, I'm curious if it's true throughout.

Jennifer my sister was the sleep fighter, now she can sleep all day if she doesn't need to be up.

The one on the left in the snow pictures.

The one on the left in the snow pictures.

That's what I thought you were going to say :) Since they came home from the hospital, Elise has very often sparked the comment about being an "old soul". Never has Avery, but that's her on the left. They'll already play tricks on you, I tell ya'! Never too early to start, apparently ;)

Dallas ISD - Closed.
DS lives to see those words scroll across the screen! :rotfl2:

The problem is that I have to work. I am not sure what time I will have to go in, but I will definitely have to go in. So I can't go back to bed and be all cozy, I have to get in the shower and get ready to go in case I have to be there at my regular time. I am hoping I won't have to go in until 10 AM or so. There is a clause in my contract about ice and the closure of DISD, but it also states I am to report to work if the ice melts by later in the morning. We shall see! I don't think Momboss is up quite this early so I'll wait another hour to call.

DH left at 3:30 and he said it was icy the entire 19 miles to the warehouse. Took him 45 minutes to get there, but he made it there safely.

I'm off to acknowledge that the girls are awake. I refuse to do so until 7 (unless they're distressed of course ) because they don't need to be up! :rotfl:

I guess we'll be stuck here again today (did I mention that I hate winter?! :headache:). Ugh!

Everyone venturing out where it's at all slick, drive very safely!

Make it a great day! :goodvibes
