DDA Chapter 17

I have admitted defeat and am making the statement that I am sick. I canceled my morning classes and went to get the drugs you have to sign away your first-born to buy. I hope they kick in so I can go teach my afternoon classes. I have already sent an email to my director that I won't be at rehearsal tonight. I am very sad because we are starting new music for the semester. :(

Robyn, Becky, Marci and Jen... I know you aren't feeling 100% either. I hope you feel better than I do! (I probably missed more sickies. Sorry about that.)

I hope you feel better soon Elin.

Glynis, we received Flat Stanley too. When is the actual due date on it? We will be in Disney TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY!!!
If you need him sooner, I am sure that we can still have fun with him here. Just not as much fun as at WDW!

Yeah for two weeks!

Deb - I would say it is the sellers problem.

Good news from an airtran email! (I went that route so I could print it out and have it on paper)

"You may bring a stroller or carseat to the gate for ease of travel.... may be gate checked and will be returned to the jet way..."

"Carseats and strollers may alternatively be checked free of charge"

(We might just check them, although the baggage handling aspect of that makes me nervous. Still, nice to have the option!)

"Traveling with an infant, you will be allowed more than the normal one carry-on item in order to travel with baby related items such as diapers, clothes, blanket, etc. We recommend that you carry on more than ample supplies of baby care items in the event your flight is delayed, even if this places you over the normal requirement for carry-on luggage".

Well, our management team evaluated all the full time employees, ranking them from first to last, the bottom three will be cut back to part time.

I'm not supposed to know about this, but being the office manager I often "see" things that I'm really not supposed to. I definitely don't agree with the rankings, and of the three cut back I only agree with one, I feel like personal favoratism played a big part in their decisions instead of actual performance. :sad2:

Great news Jennifer, traveling with two infants is definitely going to be a challenge.

That really stinks! :(

Oh, Elin! I hope you feel better quickly! Robyn, Becky, Marci and Jen, that goes for you, too.

Whatever is going around finally made it to Utah. Leslie spent the night throwing up. Alan got to deal with that, as I had the baby. So, she's home today, nibbling crackers and watching Barbie movies.

I'll check with the teacher and let you know this afternoon. I knew you were going to WDW soon, so figured that could be fun. But, I'll let you know for sure. Thanks for helping us out!

Just popping in to let you all know we are home. The drive took about 17 hours, and we pulled in the driveway about 2 a.m. Tuesday morning. Kevin did go to work, but the kids and I stayed home all day. Everyone is coughing with yucky runny noses...the return to Ohio winter reality! This morning, Alyssa went back to school and the boys and I took a quick trip to Kroger.

I will try my best to get caught up on the 100+ pages now that my laptop is hooked up again. Kevin is determined to write a trip report, but we also need to FINALLY get Matty's big boy room finished! He proved in Disney that it's going to be a challenge keeping him in bed. It's also time to put some effort into potty training Matty and starting Noah on solids.

I miss WDW already, but at least we won't have to wait as long for our next trip, since we have APs. I think we're going back the week before Thanksgiving.

Back to laundry and unpacking. :laundy:

Hope you are all well! :grouphug:

Deb, I'd say she's out the money too, especially since she chose a different way of shipping.

Oh, and good morning all! :goofy:

I was just planning on harassing you, knowing you should have been back yesterday. I can't wait to hear all about your trip! Put the rest of the stuff off! ;) :teeth:

You definitely need to set a limit! Good luck! I don't think I want to get tangled up in that, but thanks for the offer! :rotfl2:

Marci - The cat makes a noise that is between a wheeze and a hum. But if you want to be technical, it's snoring! :rotfl2:

Pearl SNORES. She is loud...it's not a wheeze or a hum. We can sometimes hear her in another room. So between her cleaning herself twice a night in my ear and the snoring, no wonder I can't sleep. :rotfl2:

That's a shame. Do the employees have written performance evaluations on file so they can challenge the decision? Hopefully your job will not become too difficult/stressful because of the changes. pixiedust:

Welcome home!! I can't wait to hear all about it! And see pictures....hint hint. (As if I'm one to talk :rolleyes1 )

I got an email from the ebay seller about my ski boots. She has shipped them via UPS (instead of USPS which she had in the listing :confused3 ) and she said it cost here $5 more. I was a bit taken aback as I'm not sure if she thinks I should give her another $5 or what :confused3 Anyone have this happen before. I would think it is her problem as I paid the shipping amount listed :confused3

I have heard of it....the seller is just SOL. They are trying to get more from you but you have fulfilled your end of the contract...just because she changed shippers isn't your fault.

Well, we are off for a fun-filled day (as soon as Charlie and Lola is over anyway). So far the list includes Party City for some birthday plans exploration, lunch out somewhere, Glow Golf, Carousel and the bookstore. Who knows what else might come up in that process. If we get far enough on the party ideas at lunch we might add in a trip to the craft store since the nice big one is out by the mall.

Have a great day everyone!

Sounds like a fun day!

Welcome home, Amy & Family! :)

Theresa - Pearl and Aurora have about the same build, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I got an e-mail yesterday saying that another one of DS's friends will be coming to his party, so that's 2 out of 5 confirmed. I imagine his best friend will be coming, but I don't know for sure. The other 2 I have no clue what to think. I guess we'll see if the boys say anything to DS today.

I HAVE TO go to Target now. I was supposed to go Monday. OK. Going. Now.
