DDA Chapter 16

so you all may remember when I resigned less than 24 hours later tattle tale's assistant had a "proposal" to take over my position (for more pay). Seems they may have hired her. She was answering the phones (badly, I might add:rotfl: ) when I needed to call the girls' piano teacher.

Oh well, if they hired her they deserve her. It also would explain why they haven't called me to come in and show a new person the ropes....why would I need to show the ropes to somebody who, if given the chance, would have strangled me with it. Now if I could just find that perfect position to go back to them to go "nahnah nahnah!", I would be a happy camper.

pixiedust: for Colby!

That stinks about the mayo. One thing about being HUGE is that I have lots of points to use right now. I remember when I was almost at goal and had 18 points for the day. Then I used to really resent having to "waste" 4-6 points on milk.

So far, so good for me today...but it's only day 1. Then again, I've been having trouble even completing day 1 lately.

I hear you on that. This is the first time since June that I've made it past day 1 :rotfl: My SIL is going to meetings so she has all the info on the new momentum plan. It seems that they have restructured how they determine how many points each person gets. I need to read through all of her materials so that I can recalculate mine. I know that 3 years ago the lowest amount of points was 20. No one ever should eat less than 20. I think I have 22 right now, but it would be a nice suprise if I get more. I know that SIL gained 2 more points. They also have new guidelines for eating out. If you order a lean steak it only counts as 5 points, you don't have to worry about ounces :confused3 Since I eat out a lot (at work) I would really like to read that. Once I read it I'll try to post a condensed version for all of us that are doing it on our own :thumbsup2

It seems that we all survived the first day back at school and the homework is done. Chris is now playing video games with them. I even made it home before tuck ins. I need to give Colby a good dose of meds before he goes to sleep. Hopefully he will have a restful sleep and us too.

We have a big storm heading our way mid week. It may mean the snowboarding is cancelled Wednesday night. The kids have really been looking forward to it starting so they may be disappointed if school is cancelled, then again maybe they won't

On a better note, though... Stonehill College came up with a little more money so Kathrin accepted the job and will start work next Monday! :woohoo:
Wonderful! Please congratulate her for me. :yay:

Whether it is flattering or not, it is completely accurate and I am willing to admit it.

Just don't turn into a Black Hawk parent or a Lawnmower parent. They are just unbelievable!! Once the kid becomes an adult, they should be handling that stuff on their own.

We'll see. I was thinking I could probably write a decent college admission essay for DS. :rolleyes1

This sugar dissolving thing is KILLING us. We have discovered if you let the sugar sit in the water for a minute after you THINK it is saturated, then stir it again, the sugar will dissolve. DH helped DS with it all afternoon and we are still not finished. :headache: I think our results should just be that the water appears to dissolve the sugar infinitely. The liquid becomes increasingly viscous, but the granules continue to dissolve!

My child is a goofball. :sad2:

This morning he woke up with this weird spot on his chin. Flat, the size of a nickel, PERFECTLY round. It didn't go away after he had been up awhile. I looked at it, and determined it looks like lots of tiny broken capillaries. What on earth???

Yesterday he was bored. He has a bunch of those "poppers" that look like half of a hollow rubber ball. Little dome shaped thing, you turn it inside out and it "pops" up from the table. Hours of entertainment. Apparently he decided to stick one to his chin. He gave himself a suction mark from the stupid popper! He just got out of the shower and it has not faded as much as he hoped it would. It might look a little better in the morning, but it won't be completely gone.

My favorite part is when I asked him if he stuck the popper to his chin. He looked me in the eye and said "No!" Liar! :headache:

I think he needs to go to school with the spot on his chin. :rolleyes1

What does a frozen spoon do? I have heard you can rub a hickey with toothpaste to make it go away, but I never tried it. I don't recall ever having a hickey. :confused3

I think it helps distribute the blood...or help with the swelling...I don't know :rotfl2:I just remember using one

Or you could let a baby who refuses a pacifier suck on your arm. One of these days, I need to post some pictures of the arm hickeys Noah gave me. Ouch! :teeth:

Hopefully by the time our groundbreaking research in hickey elimination is finished, Noah won't suck on your arm anymore. :rotfl2:

We are up to 71 teaspoons of powdered sugar in 12 oz. of water. I am the only one still awake.

while the kids (and Jim) were home I didn't do it as well as I could have...that will change as soon as I feel comfortable being a few feet away from a bathroom. (sometime last night I had a lovely intestinal bug hit me):rotfl:

I do have a lunch date on Wednesday...and I think I will make a warm treat for when the girls come home.
Ack! :scared: I know what that's like. I hope you feel better soon!
