Becky - I am so sorry to hear of your family's loss. :(

Elizabeth I have a project for you and it might make the science fair fun for you. By several forms of alcohol, maybe a bottle of wine, six pack of beer, shot of hard alcohol. You will also need a pocket breathalizer. Now each day between now and the end of the project you can drink until you blow a certain number on the breathalizer. Of course you'd need to make sure each portion was the same amount and drink one per 15 minutes or 1/2 hour. Mind you this is not really appropriate for a 7th grader, but I bet you'd forget about the science fair after enough drinks :thumbsup2

It's time for me to say good night but first I wanted to wish everyone
A Blessed and Happy New Year

I am sitting here watching the Travel Channel and trying to stay awake. But I had to stop and say HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all here on the DDA. You are the BEST friends I could have ever hoped to have. Thanks for being in my life.

DS like to bowl but he gets frustrated. He is so small he can only throw the ball so many times before he gets tired, then his friends outscore him. And the last time we went the bowling alley said they would only allow bumpers for kids under a certain age, so the majority of his shots landed in the gutter.

If Colby can bowl 3 consecutive games I'm sure you ds can too. The more they do it the easier it gets. Nick uses a 10 lbs ball and Hunter uses both a 10 lb and an 8 lb. Colby sticks with a 6 lb ball. None of them use bumpers. You just need to go more often :thumbsup2

I got home from work at around 10:30. It was not at all busy tonight. I only waited on 29 people, I waited on 23 last night :confused3 The owners really need to change their attitudes if they want to stay in business :sad2: I did make great money off the people that I did wait on though. I also had a job offer. One of the guys that I graduated with owns a restaurant up the street. He is only open 5 days a week and they do most of their business during breakfast. He mentioned 5 AM :lmao: clearly he does not know me. My clock doesn't even have a 5 AM. It was nice to have the offer though.

We were busy from about 5:30 - 7:30. I had just 2 parties after 7:30. By 9:00 I was at the bar having a drink while waiting for us to officially close. I had a SoCo and cranberry there and I'm having chambord and vanilla egg nog now. Yummy.

I have to agree with everyone's sentiments tonight. I find myself surrounded by aquintances, but the group I have here I consider dear friends and I am very thankful for each and every one of you.

I hope you all have a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Kristin and I are home from PA. I am all the way back on page 114! You all were chatty. :teeth:

We made great time yesterday, arriving in plenty of time to check into our hotel and get up to see my FIL before heading over to the funeral home for the first visitation. We had a quick bite around dinner time (the neighbors have filled the refrigerator and freezer to overflowing) and then went back for the second visitation. It was nice to see so many friends and family that I haven't seen in years and to be there for Bob and his brothers.

We got up to snow and high winds this morning. Kristin and I decided to go to the funeral home and the church for the mass and then to start home. I am glad we did because we ran into a lot of blowing snow across the roads for the first 2 hours or so. It continued to snow off and on clear into Virginia, which really surprised me. The trip home took about 5 1/2 hours which surprised me since we had a rough start. I am glad to be home. Bob won't come until Saturday or Sunday. I know he hopes to tie up some loose ends and make sure that his 91 1/2 year old father is well cared for.

He said to thank you all for your kind words. He has decided that you all are pretty neat people. Well, DUH! I have been telling him all along that you are AWESOME! :goodvibes

I am tired. Kristin's cold is somewhat better and she has taken off to play Rock Band with her friends tonight. I am looking forward to having some time alone!
I'm glad you are back safely. If I would have known, you could have come over and hung out with us. But I know how enjoyable that alone time can be. ;) :goodvibes

Stupid DIS clock can't even get the time right on New Years.

We ended up staying in tonight as the temps dropped and the wind really picked up. We ate, did Pixos, played Wii and board games, then watched Dick and Ryan. Alyssa loved seeing the Jonas Bros. And how relevant is Lionel Richie???? Does anyone even know who he is anymore? Both kids made it till midnight, Nicholas just barely. Alyssa was still playing with her dollhouse at 12:30. That kid is going to be a night owl.

Thanks for another great year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, DDA!!!!!

Thank you all for the blessing of your friendship for another year.

We have had an interesting evening tonight. Lots of crazy laughing, storytelling, etc, topped off by Erin commentating the evening on Terra's doodle pad. That in itself has been quite amusing. Somehow we never even made it to the games, though that could have been the 8 kids from 1 month to 6 years running around all night.

The rest of the day was spent running some errands including hitting the 75% off at Target. That netted me 2 Christmas trees for next year so I'm excited! Two trees for less than $25 is right up my alley.

Tomorrow we're kind-of-Christmasing with Dad's best friend and family which should be another entertaining day. I'm highly considering sneaking out to see The Curious Tale of Benjamin Button, but looking at the kitchen and living right now I'm not sure I can leave that to my poor mom before company comes. Plus, it doesn't look like any of the theaters have morning showings for the cheap admission so that would put a glitch in the plan as well.

I hope you all have had a wonderful and safe New Year's Eve. May 2009 bless you and your families greatly. :grouphug:

I just put my french toast bake in the refridgerator. Looks like there will be some good eating in 2009!!!:thumbsup2

I can't get the top off of my Korbel. So I'm drinking water out of my Sigg. :cool1: I'm getting ready to go to bed.

Happy New Year dear friends. I sure hope this year sees us healthy and joyfilled!!:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:
