Christopher has caught whatever dreaded illness seems to be going around. He vomited last night and didn't tell me imagine my surprise this morning!! Could be a l o n g day!

Marci Have a great trip. :cool1: :cool1:

Isn't Debbie going soon too? I've lost track in all the confusion. Elin must come back this weekend?

So now that Christmas is over, does anyone have plans for New Years Eve?

We will be staying home as I have to work the next day. I will probably make a few appetizers for us to munch on & for Gary & the boys to have for New Years Day. Sounds exciting huh lol

Garrett's birthday is on the 3rd, so I really need to concentrate on that now. I do have his gifts bought though, thanks to some good Christmas sales :thumbsup2

I can't believe 2009 is almost here!

Wow I am really sorry to hear about all the sickness that is going around, seems to be hitting everyone pretty hard!

Deb sorry you had to cancel you plans for today.

Kristine sorry you woke up to such a mess.

:wizard: & that you are well soon!

Good morning.

Wow, seems like so many of us are being affected by the sickies. Hope everyone who is sick feels better soon. So far only Katie was sick here (so far:rolleyes: )

We are just hanging at home...the kids got up at 7am & ran to play Wii Ski. Thats their favorite present of Christmas.:goodvibes

Marci,
:wizard: for your ankle & give us all the details about Disney!

Deb,
:wizard: for everyone in youe house. Feel better

Tammi,
How are the kids today?

Janet,
The kitchen remodel is a fabulous gift!!! Your pictures look wonderful.

Lindsay,
I am so sorry about the layoff. I hope you can secure another position soon.

Our local bowling alley has a family new years eve party. We bowl in the afternoon & they have pizza, games, & a champange toast to the new year. I have lots of appetizers in the freezer so after bowling we will come home, eat those & watch movies (or play Wii I imagine) until the ball drops. :goodvibes

Me either, how exciting!
See! She was holding out on us.;)

Good Morning. Obviously I'm home and not heading to Boston.
I'm sorry the adventure for today was a bust. At least someone got to use the tickets and they didn't go waste. I hope Colby enjoys the day. Get some rest!

Lucy is the next one down here. She was up screaming most of the night and pulling on her ear. Thankfully we have the ear pain meds on hand and that along with ibuprofen seemed to calm her down for a bit to sleep some. Although she is still very tired. She has an appointment this afternoon at the urgent care clinic, our ped is closed for the holiday.
:wizard: for Lucy, Mo and Eric!

How did this virus become virtual?!?!?

Isn't Debbie going soon too? I've lost track in all the confusion. Elin must come back this weekend?
Yes, she is, and I don't remember for certain what day Elin gets back. :confused3

So now that Christmas is over, does anyone have plans for New Years Eve?
My kids will be here so we will probably go downtown for First Night, providing the weather is decent. Then my parents are coming on the 1st.

Tammi,
How are the kids today?
:wizard: that the rest of your family doesn't get it. I haven't called them yet. I figured I'd give her a little time to wake up before I check in. They are always up late over there anyway, so hopefully they are sleeping in.

So much for being at the mall at 6 AM. :rolleyes1 I didn't sleep well, so even though I was awake at 5:20 AM my goal was to get some SLEEP! Our room was hot, DH was snuffling and snoring, the Axe shower gel we gave DS fell off the suction cup holder and make a huge crash when it hit the tub (about 3 AM), at some point after that the STUPID woman below us came home, SLAMMED her front door, and proceeded to start hammering on things. I swear, I SWEAR she must have some disorder where she has some compulsion to hammer on the walls in the middle of the night. I think DS should play his drums ALL DAY.

So at 5 AM I moved to the couch. DH came out around 6 AM to make coffee, so I moved BACK to the bedroom. Now I am up. I have to hit the shower and get to the mall.

Tammi - I hope the kids do OK with their dad.

Marci - I am sorry about your ankle! Have a MAGICAL trip!!

Deb - Sorry you guys are all battling that virus!

Kristine - Hope Christopher feels better soon! :wizard:

Robyn - Poor Lucy! I hope she feels better soon! Her ears just keep giving her trouble, don't they?

Lindsay - I am so sorry about your job! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I would be happy to e-mail ExMomboss and see if she knows of any leads.

Bernadette - Sorry to hear you guys are sick, too!

No New Year's plans for us. DH has to work, so I will be home hoping he doesn't get killed by a drunk driver (or a random lunatic on a shooting spree, which was what we had in Dallas this week).

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Hope everyone sick is feeling better soon!!!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Sounds like everyone had a nice Christmas despite all the sickies.

Jennifer-great pictures-glad you got the day off yesterday!

I don't own a rolling pin, so we have never done cut-out cookies. I know, I am a slacker mom.
I would say I'm the slacker mom because I ALWAYS made a ton a cookies for Christmas before the kids were born. I know they would love it but I just couldn't do it. I think I should book a December Disney trip next year. When I do that I always get my cards & shopping done before the trip. I still haven't done my cards this year. If I'm going to make any gifts next year I better start now. This last minute stuff is way too stressful for me!

There. You see? I can make cookies if I have to! ;)
Beautiful!

Here are a couple of pictures Gary took tonight of the kitchen. Picture a black stove & fridge here ;) Also where the window is on the back wall will be a door leading to the back yard. Still more work to do, but I can use my kitchen now! Excuse the clutter on the counters.

DSCF8485.jpg
You call that clutter?

Garrett told me tonight that he knows he is getting to old, but he is excited about tomorrow. I told him that you are never to old to be excited about Christmas. I am so happy to see that little child still in him :goodvibes
 That is so sweet!

I got one of the best gifts today! a friend of mine is in Iraq and I usually get emails once a day or so. I havent heard from him in almost 2 weeks and I was getting worried. I had a great christmas morning, came in my room and starting putting thinsg away. I was thinking this ist he best christmas, but I need to hear from him and it would be perfect.

20 minutes ago, i got an email from him! Im so relieved--that was the best gift!
That is wonderful!

Santa brought a new addition to the family....

This is Banjo.

The kids are in love....especially Jackie!!

bxmas.jpg
Beautiful!

He is so looking forward to all of the activities and wants to see Bernadette's family again. He will be heartbroken if he can't go.
We will have to plan a summer get together-no weather worries, less chance of illness. A day at the beach and a cookout rather than a few hours. The kids would love it!

so my parents got me a kenmore sewing machine.
Cool!

Oh, and we received airline tickets from my In-laws. They just didn't want us to drive their precious granddaughter to Florida in Feb. I am thankful, because now I won't be so tired of driving! So now we are booked with Southwest Airlines with a very early flight. More time at Disney!
:woohoo: That is great!

I got a PM from Lindsay a few days ago, though I didn't see it until tonight. She was laid off on December 22nd, and could use some PD or prayers. They had previously laid off some employees, but when she, Elizabeth and I talked, we were hopeful that it was the end of the layoffs. Unfortunately it wasn't.
I'm so sorry to hear that.:wizard:

Hope your ankle is OK for Disney. Have a wonderful trip!

Terra fell asleep right after dinner - literally, on my lap, just minutes after her last bite, and is now awake so I'm up for a while longer. That's okay cause I have a project of sorts that I want to do some research on. I fear jinxing it by saying too much, but let's just say that we got what could be some really good news for us and a real help for our family. From what Phil had told me, it sounds promising, but I never really know for sure with him, his memory and his family. With that, any pixie dust you could send our way would be greatly appreciated.
:wizard: Hope things work out!

Good Morning. Obviously I'm home and not heading to Boston. Hunter stopped vomiting at around Midnight and is feeling somewhat better today. He is still exhausted and very pale. He is also having pain from his foot issues that had him in tears :sad1: Nick had the runs at around 10 pm last night and then fell fast asleep. We heard him run for the bathroom at 2:00 and he emptied his tummy. Amazingly he went right back to sleep and he hasn't thrown up since. We got everyone up and through the shower this morning. Nick decided that he wasn't well enough to travel so we arranged for my Dad to stay with him since Mom was going with us anyway. Soon after making that phone call I started running...in both directions :sad2: At that point there was no way that I could travel either. Chris and Mom were still going to take Colby and Hunter, but then Hunter decided to stay home and rest so we bagged the whole trip. I called Bernadette hoping to give them our tickets, but they are all sick too  We called several family member in an attempt to give away the 6 tickets to no avail. Much to my suprise my brother called and said they would go. We thought that impossible as SIL's parents and grandmother are staying with them for a few days. SIL's brother and his family are coming to town tonight and I guess he family wanted to rest until then so that freed them up. Mom and Colby ended up going with them. Colby wasn't sure he wanted to go since the museum won't be happening, but he finally decided that it might be fun. I hope they have a quick and safe trip and that they totally enjoy it. The rest of us will do a lot of sleeping today. Chris isn't sick...yet, but only Colby got sleep last night so we can all use the rest.

I'm certainly hoping that luck turns around soon for all of us. Between loss of jobs and illness we seem to have had more than our fair share here. I cannot believe that Lindsay's employer would do lay offs right before the holiday. What ever happened to Good Will toward man :confused3 I hope that she and all others in search of employment can secure something soon. With this economy it may not be the perfect longterm placement, but any gainful employment until things come around.
I'm sorry you're all feeling lousy. Glad your brother is going. Hope Colby has a great time!

I managed to twist my foot on Tuesday, and it's still bothering me. We took a quick trip to Austin after Randy got off on Tuesday, and got to have dinner wtih some good friends. Wednesday, we had lunch with Randy's family and exchanged gifts, then we drove back home. We usually eat dinner, so it was nice to get home at a decent time. We were up at 6 today, and I've been running ever since. We opened presents, had breakfast, tried to put gifts away, made fruit salad and mashed potatoes for lunch, had lunch and helped clean-up, took a 45 minute nap, then took down all 20 boxes or so of decorations. We had dinner, then I started catching up with what has been happening with my DIS family.

I am sorry about your foot! Hopefully it's all better for Disney!! You certainly are one of the busiest ladies I know!

Thank you for telling us about Lindsay.

Lindsay-I hope that your layoff is short.

Good Morning. Obviously I'm home and not heading to Boston. Hunter stopped vomiting at around Midnight and is feeling somewhat better today.

I am so sorry your family has been hit so hard with this illness.

Bernadette-I hope your family feels better soon also!

Christopher has caught whatever dreaded illness seems to be going around. He vomited last night and didn't tell me imagine my surprise this morning!! Could be a l o n g day!

oh no!! I love that we are a sharing family but please no one share this illness with my family please!!:rotfl2:

I hope Christopher feels better quickly also!

Elizabeth-I am sorry the mall had to be postponed for sleep...sometimes it would be nice to be able to sleep through disturbances wouldn't it??

Cute! How's he doing?

We went to Christmas Eve service at my SIL's church.
The church was beautiful. Some of the ladies in the congregation sewed these angles.
DSC_0108.jpg

The pageant was lovely but WAY too long! I don't know how the kids all stood so still for so long. They had a soloist sing and then the congregation sing a hymn between all 5 acts. They also had other soloists, hymns, bell choir and candlelight hymn during the service. It was a nice night-in the 50's I think.
DSC_0186.jpg

We had a nice morning opening gifts. DH got me the Disney Treasures Donald Vol 4 and Nikon lens pens I asked for and a Maeve Binchy book (haven't read her in years) and a sewing book and sudoku book so I guess I can't complain about the toilet seat. I made him watch the JC Penny dog house video today.

So I was making breakfast and noticed Emma was quiet. I found her asleep on the couch. She woke up saying she was going to be sick. She hadn't eaten anything so it wasn't much and she felt much better after that.

My SIL & MIL came around noon. I just kept things very simple. We had a boneless spiral cut ham. It was good and SO easy-just heat up for 30 minutes. I baked both white and sweet potatoes and my MIL brought a nice salad. I made Pillsbury frozen rolls too. I hadn't tried them before and thought they were good. Emma had a couple of rolls and some crackers. Joe ate but was complaining his belly hurt. DH & I haven't been feeling well but not vomiting. I'm just waiting for someone else to get hit with it.

They gave us today as a holiday at work so I've got all weekend to recover.

Bernadette I love the pictures of the kids on the stairs :goodvibes

Janet,
Love the one of the boys playing rock band!

Bernadette,
