John had a scratchy throat and stuffiness last night and by this afternoon it was full blown in his chest. He is quite miserable but not complaining and he was smart enough to start the antibiotics that we had on hand.

We're the same here.
Laura lost 3 very good friends when they decided she wasn't cool enough or popular enough. They like to go the the high school dances and do the "grinding" dances any boy that wants to which makes Laura uncomfortable. I've heard (from one of the mothers who thinks that her daughter was the only one of the group not involved--I'll save judgment on that one) that they sent topless photos to a boy who was trying to "figure out if he's gay." It's been hard on her, because all through elementary school those four were such close friends. I'm good friends with the one girl's mother which makes it even harder. They (including the mothers) just have a different view on some important things than we do. Popularity is definitely a priority there (and I know that in my friend's case that it's because she never felt "popular" enough when she was in high school).

They have the new course posted for the Princess Half Marathon. It is a real disappointment as it starts outside Epcot, over & through Magic Kingdom, back to Epcot, basically around the ball (but not the World Showcase) and back to the Epcot parking lot.
They also posted the course for the 5K but I think that is the same as originally. It is starting outside Epcot, through World Showcase, and out to the parking lot past the ball.

They have announced the replacement party for the Princess Half Marathoners. I'm very disappointed. I paid for Pirate & Princess Party tickets. I think I'll probably ask for a reimbursement. Hollywood Studios just is not a park that has anything that I'd be interested in doing after having run a half marathon earlier in the day. Magic Kingdom has a lot of low key rides that I would have really enjoyed. I don't mind a different party but the change in park does matter.
NEW! Exclusive, post-race Happily Ever After Party at Disney's Hollywood Studios™
Mickey's Pirate & Princess Party will no longer be taking place on Sunday, March 8 as originally scheduled. We will now be hosting an exclusive Princess Half Marathon Happily Ever After Party that evening at Disney's Hollywood Studios™. The party will be open only to Princess Half Marathon Weekend participants and their family and friends. Tickets for the Happily Ever After Party are available at the same price as the previously advertised discounted tickets for Mickey's Pirate & Princess Party. If you purchased Mickey's Pirate & Princess Party tickets for March 8, your purchase will now apply to the Happily Ever After Party and you will be contacted via email with more details.
It will have a lot fewer people, though... I'm interested to see what kind of 'entertainment' is offered. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't great use out of the rides at HS with the girls.
Not implying your child, because we all know the DDA kids are a special bunch, but don't say never, ever. You would be amazed the amount of times I've heard that, and it's been proven not true.
That's the only thing that will stop me from getting my money back - the entertainment if they have some neat stuff or if there are special characters that you don't usually get to see. We don't do RNRC or TOT and I don't think I would do it after running a half even if these did interest me. I don't think I could handle Star Tours after the half. DHS is something that I can do everything once during our trip and I'll be happy. We'll be there a whole week so I'll already have done everything I want at DHS. At MK, I could do things over & over. They are slow & easy rides.

That's the same course as our 1/2 was. It's pretty boring during that stretch (x2), but the finish is fun around SE. Through the castle, and in the 'backstage' area of the MK is fun, too.

I thought the same thing! I wish that I'd taken more time in the backstage area. It would have been fun to have gotten some autographs, but I was so focused on not getting swept. Oh well. Next time, right?
