DDA Chapter 16

I really need to get Emma one (she may be going to Germany in the spring), guess I should find out what I need and how much it's gonna cost me!!

Make sure that both you and your hubby go with Emma to turn in her application. They need to have both of you there. I guess there have been a lot of international parental abduction cases, so they want both parents to say it's ok for an underage child to have a passport. I didn't know this last year when I was doing Katie's passport, and had to make a couple of trips to the passport office because of it.

Deb,
I hope you get rid of the bugs on your own.

Yuck for a cold sore on your nose.

Yep. ExDadboss tried to take Brother to get a passport and they wouldn't allow him to do it unless ExMomboss was there.

The good news is that I didn't find an infestation :thumbsup2 In fact I didn't find any bugs in the couch when I tore it apart. I did however find a few on the floor after I removed the couch bottom. yep I ripped the staples out and complete removed it. Threw the material out in the freezing rain. I will recover the underside with plastic, then I can easily see what I'm dealing with. I think I found 3 or 4 live ones and a couple of dead ones on the floor. I have no idea what they are, but I took some photos in hopes that someone can identify them. I'm uploading the photos now.

Hope you have a great day!

I love this one!! So I am scraplifting and wishing you a very happy day, Miss Tammi!:goodvibes

Here are the bugs. I think they resemble fleas, but they don't seem to jump. They crawl, but they do have wings. They are tiny and move pretty quickly for their size. I also saw on on a cracker crumb which makes me think pantry pest rather than fleas :confused3

And here is what the underside of a 10 year old couch looks like

Now that I've done it , I would highly recommend everyone clean the bottom of their couch out :scared: Lots of stuff finds it's way down there, especially with kids in the house. It only takes a pair of needle nose pliers to take apart and a staple gun to put it back together. I wish I'd done it before as I would have probably avoided all insect issues.

EWW!! Deb!!:scared:

It is supposed to be beautiful here today....yeah, right!! It's blowing terribly hard (hurricane force gusts) and the sky matches my mood....gray and blah.

I am going to do some laundry and go to lunch with a dear friend (the average age of my real life friends is 60+ I think):goodvibes

I find it funny that I am applying for jobs and 2+ days later they show up at places like monster and snagajob....I've stopped myself at least twice today from submitting a second resume. :rotfl:

I think I've narrowed it down to either the red flour beetle or confused beetle. They did look pretty confused when I flushed them :rotfl2: Now to find out how to get rid of them. Mind you we haven't seen any in the kitchen at all :confused3

I hope you're having a great day, Tammi!

Off to an MD appointment that I'm dreading, then to run a few errands. I hope to catch up this evening while Kyle is on call.

Have a great afternoon, DDA!

One of the reasons it good to have pet allergies.

I don't think he was the culprit. I think we brought them home from the grocery store. :scared: From what I've read it is very common to have them in flour, cereal, crackers, dry pet food and many other things. I guess it is a very common problem, I just wish they would choose a different house than ours. What we went through this past summer was enough bug issues to last me a lifetime, now I've got to deal with it again. According to the local feed store I should be able to use a pesticide that you would use for pet fleas and ticks as they are all hard shelled. Of course the roads are horrible so I really can't just run out today. Maybe tonight.

I know this sounds awful....but I was so happy that the Holiday Sing was canceled due to the bad weather....as you guys have heard me complain that there is not 1 single Christmas song......well, they have rescheduled it for Friday! :sad2:

Guess what the theme of the Holiday Sing is this year????? Not Jesus, not peace on Earth....but Recycling!! I hope I make it through

:rotfl2:

I have taken to calling myself "fluffy."
I just have too much cushion!:rotfl:

I have done good so far, and this is day 3. The first week is the hardest for me.
Thankfully I have alot of stuff I need to do before our vacation. So that should keep my mind occupied. I tend to eat when I get bored, or snack in front of the TV.
I am working on a few outfits for Leighanna, and maybe a bag for DW to match. I also want to do an autograph book, or a memory book. I need to work on decorating a journal for Leighanna, so that she can write in it everyday. Her teacher wants lots of notes, and wants to see Leighanna write at least two sentences in her book for each day we are there.
