DDA Chapter 16

We are doing science fair, of course. :rolleyes1
The only thing left is bibliography. DS said his science teacher said they can have until Friday to turn the projects in, but I want him to take it in tomorrow. It's not like the project would be any better if he waited 2 more days to turn it in. The board is all done, the written stufff is done, the bibliography is the last hurdle. The thing is, he didn't use 5 sources so we need to get creative to come up with 5 sources to list.

Can he use you, or the DDA, as a source? ;)

I was going to suggest Kristine. She seems to have many answers for esoteric things these days. ;)

I had coffee for breakfast; a PB&J sandwich and some of those "veggie" potato chips for lunch; a Chex Mix granola bar (chocolate and carmel flavor) for snack; tortellini with red sauce, veggies, and bread & butter for dinner. No soda. We have candy and cookies on hand, but no cake or pie or ice cream.
You are not blubbery. I am, but I am going to work on boosting my self-esteem so being blubbery won't bother me.
Yeah, that's easier than dieting! :rotfl:

Hey, Tammi! I just realized it is almost "our anniversary!" Is it three years already? Or only two since our first Melting Pot dinner?

You August people are killing me! In December, I missed Elin by a day, I didn't realize Debbie planned a quick trip, and I'm missing most of you by between a day and a week. UGGGHHH!!!! For August, you guys really should be there to celebrate my birthday, and then stay over for Elizabeth's. :rotfl:

I keep telling you all... we need to find a neighborhood in the WDW area for us all to move to!

Goodnight ladies. I'm going to read until I start falling asleep.

It's time to uncork the wine :goodvibes

Kristin already opened a bottle of Menage a Trois for us, but I have not had my glass yet. Maybe I ought to send it over to Tammi's house!

Robyn - that is one for your wine rack. Menage a Trois red

My motivation is that I'm as heavy as I was when I started two years ago. I had lost 25 pounds and I've gained most of it back. My mother was 105 pounds when she got married at 18. I believe she is over 200 now. I was 115 at 18 and again at 20 (when I got married). I'm currently up to about 170 or so. My mother was probably 150-160 at my age.

If I don't start taking better care of myself, I'm going to be as heavy as my mother. She is very unhappy with herself and has additional health problems related to the weight. I don't want to take that route. I also want to eat anything I want to eat (just smaller portions). If I exercise and watch portions, then I'm hoping I can continue to do that.

I'm not quite sure! :confused3

I am thinking 3 years... Didn't I give you those fuzzy goofy socks the first year and a bottle of wine last year? Or am I confusing what you gave me? :rotfl2:

I need to get to sleep earlier tonight. I have been having trouble falling asleep and then I am tired and fall back to sleep in the mornings. But I cannot afford to lose that lesson planning time in the mornings, so earlier to bed/earlier to rise for me tonight! Good night everyone. Stay safe in the icy and snowy weather.

im the same way..i am even in bed but just tossing and turning and cant fall asleep..but in the mornings, its brutal to get up!

I made it past day 1! Day 2 is even going well. I wasn't thinking that was much, but I need to celebrate even the small successes right now.

When I was on the plan, the lowest weight range ate 18-23 points (plus any exercise points). I think I would have been better off working with the 23, but I can be a bit obsessive sometimes (you all may have already guessed that about me ;) ). I think that I have learned a few things since that go 'round, so I hope to keep things more moderate this time.

You are doing great Beth!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks for your input and suggestions. I think that's the type of lock that ABBF is offering, and for an extra $10, it will give me peace of mind.

Autograph books are almost done (thanks to my wonderful husband). I have lots of laundry and packing to do (trying to figure out what fits/doesn't fit, etc.). I'm still debating whether to buy snacks, diapers, etc. here at home or do a Target trip upon our arrival. I had hoped to be down another 10 pounds before our trip, but it's too late to do anything about that! :upsidedow

I'm trying to get the kids as well-rested as possible. All the holiday celebrating really threw Alyssa and Matty out-of-whack. Noah has his six-month appointment the day we leave. I don't want to say too much for fear of cursing things, but I've had three nights of great sleep. Of course, with Alyssa going back to school today, I had to wake him up. :headache:

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug: If you could spare some :wizard: for my grandpa...he's in the hospital for blood clot. Thanks so much! I hope 2009 is off to a great start for us all! :goodvibes
Enjoy your trip!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes :grouphug: :grouphug: grandpa:grouphug:

Looks like the boys & I will be making a trip to Ohio this summer :yay: Chanon is being a very wonderful tour guide & has planned out some nice things for us to do. We will take the train which is much cheaper than flying & we have a station right here in town.

The boys are looking forward to this trip & they know that Disney this summer is a very slim possibility.

But there is always next year!
Enjoy!!!!:goodvibes

I've never heard these terms. I think I'm doing a pretty good job of letting Matthew handle the college applications process on his own. He definitely needs parental input, though. He is the one that needs to make all the contacts with the schools and his guidance office. It's a little struggle sometimes, since his priorities are a little different than ours.

These are explained in the helicopter parent link that Elizabeth posted.

Hi guys! We're back. My kids downloaded a lovely antivirus pro parasite while we were at Disney, so I haven't been able to hit the internet. I was able to get on my home computer yesterday and get caught up. Why are you guys so chatty when I'm away, and quiet when I'm around? ;) :rotfl: Don't answer that!

Jake's birthday was yesterday, and since they were still out of school, I worked from home. It's been rainy and very cold here the past few days, but I can see the sun out of my window finally!

I'll give you guys a good update later -- I just wanted to say hello, that we had a great trip, and that crowds were just as heavy (or heavier) than last year.

Congrats to Kathrin on getting a job!

Prayers said for your Grandpa, Amy.

Janet -- I hope your infection goes away ASAP. Happy belated birthday to Garrett.

Glynis -- congrats on Timothy's Christening! It sounds like you and your family are trying to make the best of what you can for the first Christmas without your Mom. We followed our tradition during our Disney trips of sending two balloons up to Mom from Main Street U.S.A. :goodvibes

Have a good day everyone! I need to get back to work but will try to give you more of an update later. :)
:welcome: home Marci!
