I just have to post some pictures of our kitchen, Gary got so much done in the short time I was away. I am so pleased with how the kitchen is looking & I am so proud of all the hard work he is putting into this.

Here is how the kitchen looked not to long after I returned from our trip in Aug.

here's a picture of our tree...

for the first time in my ENTIRE life...I have a fake tree. (My father, RIP, is probably in shock) I am still feeling a little twitchy about it. The kids were quite unhappy about it. I am hoping the lack of mess makes up for it!!

Jennifer here is my tree. Please excuse the sneakers and boots in the bottom right. I didn't get a shot of the tree topper, its a gold star burst with a Mickey head in the center.

Love it, your Muppet babies look very familiar, I think my oldest DD had those when she was little.

With gas down to $1.49 a gallon here getting there should be pretty inexpensive, we have the passes already and we are spending two nights at Pop for under $200. This might not be the last short getaway if things go well . . . . .

Anne Marie - I am glad you got the game dilemma sorted out!

Janet and Anne Marie - Please tell me your August dates again. I am trying to plot my ADRs and I need to see which days we all overlap.

Debbie - I will add you and Richie to my head count for the DDA dinner (or breakfast, or whatever).

Anyone other than Robyn thinking about coming in August but not 100% sure? Feel free to chime in with your estimated travel dates!

I got a thing in the mail from AAA about Buy 4, Get 3. I tossed it and immediately had an e-mail from American Airlines Vacations promoting hte same deal. They must be really hurting for bookings because I am being inundated from all sides. How thoughtful of them to bombard me with an offer I can't use.

Still lots of work to be done, but he is getting there!

Here is my new sink area, Gary made the piece between the the two cabinets above the sink(still need to put the scroll work on it). The sink is still raised till he finishes the tile work on the counters.

Gary custom made the hood vent that will be over the stove, I just love this! The picture really does not do it justice. He stuccoed the top part, it looks really nice.

Dishwasher, cabinets, & floor:

I love the way the lights in the ceiling look at night when dimmed.

Custom wine rack he is working on(we do not really drink wine, he just wants it for the look). Need to buy a lot of wine lol

Great! We will actually overlap your entire trip! Which will probably please DS and Riley because it will give them time to hang out together. What resort are you staying at?

Just for the record, I have 3 cats that pay absolutely no attention to our tree, other than to lay under it. I must have angel cats.

I would love to do another trip. It would probably be either the 9th-15th or I could go for longer anytime after the 21st up until Labor Day. It all depends on my travel dates for work.

Actually the yellow is the new color he is painting it

I thought it was to bright at 1st, but it is a good contrast to the stained cabinets.
