That's good to hear. I found it online for $124 which is in my price range. How do the batteries hold up?

I never have problems with it..but if I am on vacation, i charge it up every night...

Thanks everyone for the comments.
If I can make a Wish families' trip even a little more special with something that I can make, I will do it!
These kids have been through so much, and the smiles on their faces are priceless. Worth any amount of money that I might have spent!:cloud9:

You're a good man, Tom Jordan! :goodvibes

Good morning...

So at 2:30ish I got a phone from a friend of Joe's that he is in the hospital with appendicitis. I had talked to him earlier in the evening and he had said he wasn't feeling so great. At least I wasn't asleep. I fell asleep around 9:30 and was wide awake by 12:30am and that was with some sleep meds. I hate this :headache:

Heidi I hope you get your laptop running :wizard:

Robyn sorry sleep is not coming to you easily

TWELVE MORE DAYS HERE :dance3:

Jennifer now that you are entering double digits, your trip will be here before you know it. :thumbsup2

Not for a boy. I read a couple of good ones but they were really geared towards girls.

ETA: I looked on Amazon to see if I recognized any of the titles. Our school district bought the following book for all the parents of our kids when they went to middle school. How to Hug a Porcupine: Negotiating the Prickly Points of the Tween Years by Julie A. Ross (Paperback - Jul 2, 2008)
Oh I LOVE that title..really fits!!! Thanks Vicki!

TWELVE MORE DAYS HERE :dance3:
Oh yeah baby!!!!:dance3:

Well, apparently you can now apply by phone too. Kathrin was finally able to get through the line in person this afternoon. It will take 2-4 weeks for her first check to arrive, but they will be retroactive. They also think she is due some assistance for her health insurance. That is new to me.

I'm glad she was able to get through. Randy could do everything on-line here in Texas.

I was at an hour+ interview...then hightailed it to Abi's band concert. She was a minute late.

Sending more prayers for the job!

Tammi- :yay: :yay: :yay: for single digits!!!

Robyn -- I'm so sorry. I know he has lots of friends here, but I'd be happy to help with anything. Is there anything you can think of he needs?

My carpets are being cleaned today. Yahoo! If the carpet is dry enough to walk on tonight, I might start decorating a little. My shoulder bothers me so much that I don't think I'll get much done this year. Jake loves helping, so I may give him some incentive to do more with me.

Have a great day everyone!

I haven't read either of these, but...

Two that I have heard recommended are The Rollercoaster Years by Charlene C. Giannetti and Queen Bees and Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman.

I don't know if either is any good, but the principal at the middle school used to mention them often.

I hope you hear back on the interview soon! :wizard:

Good morning. :) TGIF!

YAY! The longest week ever might be coming to an end!

Tammi - I got your check, etc. yesterday! THANKS! :)

I bought and downloaded McAfee yesterday and now my computer won't work :confused3 so I left early. I am on John's computer this morning.

Grrr! How frustrating! :headache: I hope you get it figured out! :wizard:

Anne Marie - I feel for you! We are having the EXACT SAME fight over wearing a long sleeved shirt this morning. It is 34 degrees and Mr. Genius says he has to wear short sleeves because they are taking a group band photo today. :headache: He can't wear long sleeves because he will be hot after PE. He can't wear long sleeves because he will wear a jacket. He can't wear long sleeves blah blah blah.

Wowee, DDA! What happened to Chapter 14?! Aren't you all supposed to be doing other things and keeping the conversation down a little so that some of us can pretend to keep up. ;)

I need to get Miles out the door, but I'll try to come back for a few minutes. Then I need to get myself together, make a few lists, and actually get something done today.

I hate coats. I almost never wear a coat. As others have said, "You know it's really cold when Beth has a coat on." Today I let Laura go to school in several layers, but she wasn't wearing an actual coat. But she goes straight from someone's car into school. She rides the bus home but doesn't have too long a walk from the bus stop. Matthew also did not wear a coat. He had a couple of layers, too, but the outer layer was a heavy sweatshirt. Guess i'm not winning "Mother of the Year" again, huh? Miles will have a coat, gloves, and a hat, though.

Do any of the grocery stores have those change counter machines that don't charge a fee? Andrew and Jake both have a lot of change, but I don't want to take the time to roll it. If I can't find a free machine, then I guess I'll just have them roll it.

Also, has anyone played the Wii game Animal Crossing: City Folk or know anything about it? My 7-year-old niece is asking for it, and my SIL isn't too sure if it's worth the money and appropriate for her daughter. Any advice/thoughts?

My kids have Animal Crossing for Wii & they love it.
