Yay for Brandon! :cool1:

Kristine - Whatever you do, no goat cheese. :scared:

I'm in the middle of washing the cushions covers on my sofa and love seat, so far so good. I was pretty nervous about it, but we are the proud owners of a new pair of Kenmore HE2 Super Plus front loaders so I thought I would give it a try.

They were an unexpected purchase but Thanksgiving night I had a load in the washer and it started making a horrible noise, and then a smell of rubber burning and the washer would no longer aggitate. It was probably something that could have been repaired but due to the fact that it wash an older inexpensive washer we opted to purchase a new one. I went in to work Black Friday and mentioned to a co worker that my washer had dies and she told me I needed to get the pair that was on the 5 hour sale, with the sale price and my discount my final cost for the pair was $577, for a washer and dryer that normally sell for $799 each.

I've been in a washing frenzy playing with my new toy. :rotfl: :rotfl:

maybe I will assign this to my mother

Maybe a mandarin orange salad?

2 pkgs orange jello (or one large)
1 cup boiling water
1 cup cold water (or use liquid from oranges)
1 small can frozen orange juice
1-2 cans mandarin oranges, drained

Combine jello & hot water and stir until jello dissolves. Stir in cold water and orange juice. Stir until orange juice dissolves. Add mandarin oranges.

I use 2 large cans mandarin oranges because Chuck likes the oranges. Becky prefers it with less oranges but we tell her to remove them.

I finally thought of the perfect gift for my sister and BIL! I got them a $100 gift certificate from BedandBreakfast.com. I will have it delivered here and add information about our area, as well as Mount Vernon, etc. I will put brochures from a couple of B&Bs in Fredericksburg in the box as well. And we will issue an invitation to plan a trip to visit!

So who thinks they have the most up-to-date DDA contact list? :) I know I got a few returned Thank Yous, etc after the girls were born, so I'm sure mine is outdated. Anyone?

I think I could use it too.

I could use it too!

If you all would like, I can make a new one quickly w/google docs, then link everyone to it.

If you fill out this form it will enter into a spreadsheet that will be super easy to share.

YAY! Thanks, Jennifer. :goodvibes

sounds great

Aack! I didn't even think about that, which was stupid :) I will see, I've never done this before. Otherwise when it turns into a spreadsheet it will be easy to edit and add them in.

Isn't that cool, though!?

Very cool! And I see you added the email address field! :thumbsup2

Anyone care to give me menu suggestions for Christmas??

This is what I am doing do far:

London Broil
Honey/Mustard Glazed Ham
Potatoes Dauphinoise
Broccoli-cauliflower au gratin
Rolls

I feel like I need something else....

dessert will be brought by other people....it's a side dish suggestion I think I need

I have two possibilities:

CHRISTMAS BROTH from "Favorite Meals from Williamsburg"

3 c. vegetable tomato soup (V-8)
2 c. chicken stock
2 T. light brown sugar
2 T. sherry
2 T. butter
2 T. parsley

Combine juice, stock, sugar and sherry in top of double boiler. Heat almost to the boiling point. (I bet this could be done in the microwave!) Add the butter. Serve in cups with parsley wreath sprinkled on for garnish. (OR make croutons out of bread cut into shapes like turkeys, stars, etc. and baked at 300-degrees) Serves 6

CHERRY TOMATOES WITH BASIL from "John Clancy's Christmas"

3 pints cherry tomatoes
6 T. butter
1/4 c. fresh basil, coarsely chopped
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. freshly ground pepper

In large saucepan bring 4 qts. water to boil over high heat. Drop tomatoes into the water and blanch for about 10 seconds. With a paring knife peel each tomato. Set them aside. Minutes before serving heat the butter in a large skillet. Add tomatoes and toss them with a slotted spoon. Season with basil, salt and pepper. Serves 8-10

I've started my trip report. It can be found here . I can't figure out how to put it in my sig and rename it. I'll work on that later.

If this link doesn't work, let me know.

Kristine, I vote for the mixed green salad with walnuts.
