Vicki - the rainbow and Nicky pictures are terrific!

I feel so lucky to have been with her that last week. It was mostly mom and i all day long. She didn't feel up to going anywhere (except dialysis), so we just sat and talked most of the day. We were able to say things that each really needed the other to hear. I also learned her wishes regarding her funeral, and helped her fill out her DNR form. I was so glad that I had that time, as no one else had any idea what she wanted for her funeral. She even told me which casket she wanted, etc.

As we were talking one day, she told me that her biggest regret was that she wouldn't be able to hold the new baby (she had lost the use of her arms for the most part). I told her that no matter what, I'd make sure she got to hold the baby. The night that she died, I had a dream of her holding the baby, smiling, laughing and getting him all ready to come to our family. I'm sure that she's doing all of that right now.

Lovely sentiment... it made me cry for you and your Mom and Peanut. :grouphug:

Back to the Redskins-Steelers "game"...

It sure is quiet here tonight. You guys aren't making it easy for me to avoid packing!! :lmao:

I really should be preparing for my trip to Lansing tomorrow but I'm having trouble getting motivated. I'm not sure if I'm going to be down there until Friday or whether I'm going to stay over the week-end. If I come home, I'll be home only one day and then have to return on Sunday. I just don't think I want to do that but I hate to be away from Chuck for 1-1/2 weeks.

Wow, there have been some very touching stories tonight. I think we have all had those experiences

I had a dream shortly after my dad died. I was at some event and my dad was there. I was shocked and told him that he wasn't supposed to be there because he had died. He told me that he would always be here for me. When I woke up, I realized that he had come to me so that I could find peace with his loss since it was so abrupt.

I waited on 14 people tonight :goodvibes Normally I would not be happy, but given the recent totals I'll take it. Apparently it was a horror show around there over the weekend. They ran out of a lot of entrees and there were lots of complaints. I wonder if these new chefs will work out :confused3 The new chefs plus the poor economy are not making the restaurant the best choice for employment, but given the hours that I'm available there isn't much available.

The kids' doctor appts went very well today. This was their first real appt. with their new pediatrician. They both had blood work done, to include cholesterol. She listened to my concerns with Nicholas' asthma diagnosis from the clinic doctor. Based on the history that I gave her she wants him to go to the asthma & allergy doctor, which happens to be the same one I see. She wants him to have a pulmonary function test, as well as be tested for allergies. So tomorrow I will call for that and see when I can get him in.

Glynis I am so glad you had this time with your mother

After my mother passed away I had a dream about her. I was upset that she had gone & she touched my arm & said "you told me it was ok to go". You know in her last moments I did tell her it was ok for her to go, that she would be with dad now. Not sure why I am telling you this, I know you are dealing with a lot on your own now. Guess I just needed to share

 It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who still thinks of calling Mom, it was seven years October 5th. One night not long after Mom passed I had what I think was a dream but I'm not sure if I was awake or asleep.
I felt a presence in the room, and saw a kind of glow, I asked if it was mom and it "touched" me letting me know it was. I asked if she was ok and was she with her sister and again it touched me as if to say yes, I really felt that she came to let me know she was ok. I don't tell many people about this as I'm afraid they would think I had "lost" it, guess it's out there now.

I'm loving hearing these stories of visits from those who have gone. It gives me hope!

Thanks for the compliments on the photos!

Congrats!

The barn next door isn't actually on the market yet but lots of other house are.

Went to the doctor on Friday. Got an antibiotic, but it sure isn't doing a thing. In fact, I feel worse than I did on Friday....

Boo hoo!!!!
:wizard: Hope the meds kick in soon!!!!!

What have you got? I spent the better part of yesterday and today in bed napping off and on. I have been ache-y and have run a low-grade fever and had a nasty headache. I am assuming either I had a bad reaction to my flu shot or I caught some little bug from one of my munchkins. I am feeling somewhat better tonight.
Glad you're feeling better today-hope you continue to improve!:wizard:

Randy and I had a great time for our anniversay. We checked in to a hip boutique hotel, (probably looking like geeks) and while we were checking in LeAnn Rimes walked by with her husband, then Cheech and Chong came in. There may have been others, but those were the only ones I recognized. We had hoped to sleep in, but there was nearby construction WORKING EARLY ON SUNDAY MORNING. We still had a great time.

Have a great day everyone. :)
How cool!!!!

Good morning,

We had another open house this weekend...no offers yet though. We have some more people coming back today.

I have a date today!!!!:yay: :lmao:

Dana & I are going for lunch to celebrate our anniversary.

I am so behind on the thread...sending

to everyone!

Miss chatting everyday but life has gotten in the way of my fun!
Continued :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for your house!

Hope you had a nice lunch!

I'm doing ok. It's just really odd not to be able to pick up the phone and call my mom anytime I want to. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I'm not sure I want to. Does that make any sense at all? She went downhill so quickly, though, that I can honestly say that I wouldn't want her back like that! It was so difficult to watch!

I did the van run this morning. It looks very easy, only 3 kids to deal with. I was surprised that 2 of them are delivered to a town 30 miles away :confused3 I don't need to ride again this afternoon since it is the same route in reverse. That is good as I ended up subbing in for 4 study halls today when I was expecting free time. I have to be at work at the Restaurant at 4 PM so the break will be nice :thumbsup2
:wizard: Hope you continue to get lots of hours at school!

I finally got some pictures off my camera. We had a double rainbow at our house a couple of weeks ago. Here is a picture from the backyard and one from the front yard (I almost missed it when I ran around front to get it).

Beautiful!!!!! I saw a double rainbow at Epcot in August but couldn't get a very vibrant photo of it.

This is my mantra this morning:

I love my dog, she can't tell time... I love my dog, she can't tell time... I love my dog, she can't tell time... I love my dog, she can't tell time... I love my dog, she can't tell time... :rolleyes2

Am I right that if AirTran's fares go down I have to pay the $75 change fee to get the lower fare?

Hey, I say the same thing about my daughter sometimes! :rotfl::hug:

According to policy, yes. According to lots of anecdotes on the DIS (including my own, and I believe Jen (blueeyes) recently as well), no. Just call or even use the 'contact us' link on the website (that's where I usually start, that way I have written indication that they said they'd change it). Now, when I've done it it's been because my times changed so it was their "fault". I distinctly remember though, at least I think I do (:rotfl: ) that Jen got it changed without that being true, because I was very impressed. Good luck!

In the past I have done this & was given a credit with no fee, now I am hearing they charge $15 :confused3
