DDA Chapter 14

I saw a glimpse of a pink and brown one this morning - and I'm glad I waited to comment on it. I was having a really hard time reading the white words on the pink background. I like this red/black one much better.

I'm glad! That's always my concern. (Although, to be honest, I hadn't touched the text yet on the pink and brown one... I'm not sure what I would have used, but it wouldn't have been white! :rotfl:)

Whew! Just got the kids off to school, and Alan out the door for work. Now for my fun filled morning. I get to go to the grocery store, Costco, and do some more shopping for the ornament exchange. I'm hoping to get them off in the mail by the end of this week. That's the plan. It may change, but keep your fingers crossed for me!

I also need to pick up a couple more Christmas presents for the kids, and then I'll be mostly done! Alan has given me no clue what he wants/needs so he may have to be in charge of his own presents.

I'm feeling a bit more in control of the Christmas holiday this year. I've got most of the big stuff, and I just need to wrap them, and divide stocking stuffers. Now to work on deep cleaning the house before people start dropping in after the baby is born.

Fun fun! (Although don't overdo yourself!)

I finished my shopping online the other day, and am just waiting for a few things to arrive so I can start wrapping everything! :yay:

I must admit though, I was quite disappointed to surf channels on the radio today and find no holiday music.... usually at least 1 station starts by now! :sad2:

Elin -- are you feeling any better today?

Theresa -- Hang in there!

Glynis -- good to see you posting.

I love the pics of the kids we've seen -- very cute! Tammi -- I agree with Alyssa -- we did need to see all the different faces!

Beautiful weather here this week, but a little warm. It will be warming up to the mid 80s for at least part of the week.

Randy and I had a great time for our anniversay. We checked in to a hip boutique hotel, (probably looking like geeks) and while we were checking in LeAnn Rimes walked by with her husband, then Cheech and Chong came in. There may have been others, but those were the only ones I recognized. We had hoped to sleep in, but there was nearby construction WORKING EARLY ON SUNDAY MORNING. We still had a great time.

Have a great day everyone. :)

Wow, that sounds like a very upscale hotel. It must have been so much fun :thumbsup2

I'm doing ok. It's just really odd not to be able to pick up the phone and call my mom anytime I want to. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I'm not sure I want to. Does that make any sense at all? She went downhill so quickly, though, that I can honestly say that I wouldn't want her back like that! It was so difficult to watch!

I still find myself wanting to call my Grandma and she's been gone for over 6 years  Every time my kids get helium balloons they always release them and tell me they are sending them to
Grammy Tootie, Tuffy and Tiffany (their doggies)

Fun fun! (Although don't overdo yourself!)

Walmart is already playing Christmas Music if you need a fix.

I did the van run this morning. It looks very easy, only 3 kids to deal with. I was surprised that 2 of them are delivered to a town 30 miles away :confused3 I don't need to ride again this afternoon since it is the same route in reverse. That is good as I ended up subbing in for 4 study halls today when I was expecting free time. I have to be at work at the Restaurant at 4 PM so the break will be nice :thumbsup2

Amy - Work LOVES your rum cake. :teeth: We want to know if we might be able to substitute a flavored vodka now. Like orange, coconut, or even a pepperment with a chocolate cake...

We are all dreaming now.

Oh, yum! Those other ideas sound good too! I was also wondering about adding bourbon to a chocolate one... :rolleyes1

I forgot to comment on this earlier... Cheech & Chong were in Dallas for the new tour. Not my cup of tea, but Bob and Kristin would love to go see them in concert!

Ok... I'm watching DH while working after all the talk this morning. I just have to say that Catherine's sob scene in the kitchen with Bree is HANDS DOWN the worst acting I've ever seen! :rotfl:

Deb -- Not really upscale, but very TRENDY. Like the staff wearing all black, mostly all young and pretty, tons of votive candles lit at turn down at night. It's the "I spent a fortune on my outfit but don't want to be obvious about it" crowd. That's why I said Randy and I probably looked a little nerdy, but it was still fun. There are four other hotels within a mile of this one that I would have considered as being much nicer.

I could see why Leann was there, but not really C & C. It was kind of funny. They walked in with their manager, who was a real jerk, and they both kind of sat/laid down on a bed that is in the lobby. Chong kind of sang to himself and Cheech was on the phone then singing too. Randy came over and said something to me because I couldn't see them from where I was. He said he thought they were being like that to get noticed, but no one said anything to them. My BIL was very jealous -- he loves them and also knew they had a new tour. Me, not so much. I was more excited about Leann, and I would have loved to have seen Carrie Underwood. They told me she was there earlier in the week.

Was there anything special going on there that would attract the celebrities? Or were they just there to celebrate with you? ;)

Good morning,

We had another open house this weekend...no offers yet though. We have some more people coming back today.

I have a date today!!!!:yay: :lmao:

Dana & I are going for lunch to celebrate our anniversary.

I am so behind on the thread...sending

to everyone!

Miss chatting everyday but life has gotten in the way of my fun!
I hope you have a very romantic date. Well, as romantic as a lunch date can be. ;) Happy Anniversary!

Yes, it makes complete sense. :hug:s for you as you go through this very difficult time.

I hope everyone is having a great day. I overslept by a half hour this morning. Stupid time change. When I 'fell back' I set the clock to AM instead of PM, so this morning my alarm was set for 5:20 PM. If only I could have slept that late! Off to get the kids for their shots.

:rotfl: Leann is from Garland, a suburb of Dallas so she was probably visiting family.

Elin -- I just looked at the tour dates for Cheech and Chong, and don't see anything close for your family. They are doing a show at Radio City Music Hall in NY in January. Of course, they are in Dallas gain January 9th if y'all want to fly down. :rolleyes1

Anne Marie -- have fun on your lunch date and Happy Anniversary! I hope something pans out from the people that attended your open house.

Okay -- dumb cooking question -- is there a way that I can cook noodles ahead of time so that all I have to do is add sauce and heat it all up? Jake loves pasta, but Randy and Andrew won't touch it. I'm trying to find a pasta dish that is fast and easy to put together. Any ideas?

Oh, darn! :rolleyes1

Yes! Just cook them as you usually do and put them in a zip lock bag to chill (or freeze). I take out what I need, put it in a microwaveable container with my sauce and reheat!

Continued :wizard: for a buyer of your home!

Our station started in mid-Oct! I thought my sister was going to have a heart attack she was so excited.

Wow, that's really early! I was always (pleasantly) surprised when it started November 1st -- most people weren't thrilled! :rotfl:

After my mom passed away I would catch myself picking up the phone to call her or when the phone rang thinking it was her.

I don't do this anymore, but boy I sure would love to talk with her.

 for you Glynis
