Eric and I visited Luray Caverns & Skyline Drive shortly after we were married, so about the same time of year. We picked the absolute worse day to drive the mountain. It was so foggy you could not see an inch in front of your face. I almost passed from fear of driving over the side of the mountain.

We are home. I have been reading off and on all day, in hopes of catching up. Of course you guys are posting much faster than I am reading I still have 70 pages to go. Vicki gave me a quick recap, but with all that has happened I really want to read it all. I've got my last load of trip laundry in the dryer, but that is all that I've managed. I slept late and took a nap. I guess I was tired

Our trip was nice. We really enjoyed the cruiseship and our time at OKW and Vero Beach. The weather was cool and windy and we never actually got to a beach in the Bahamas , but otherwise all was well. I'll post a quick trip report when/if I ever catch up.

Holy cow! I got to Vicki's warning about senseless dribble and skipped all the way to here. If there is something that I need to know, please let me. We had a fun day, went to Luray Caverns, where we had a terrible guide, then drove along Skyline Drive. We stopped at a few overlooks and took some pictures, hike on a mile and a half trail, had dinner at Skyland, and I FINALLY saw a black bear in the wild! I have been looking for them for years up there. Now I can cross that off of my Bucket List.

Sounds like a great day. Kristin booked her airfare for December and I booked a town car to take her to Dulles to catch your favorite SW flight.

Neat! I would like to see a bear!

I saw a black bear up close and personal once in my parents' backyard. If our dog at the time had not growled and raised her hackles who knows when I would have seen it!!?!?
