so remember when I said I was glad that the muckety muck politicians were staying out of my city?? I should have kept my big mouth shut.

In the last 24 hours both parties have made our county a "contested" county. In other words....accusations are flying fast and furious already about how we need our own overseer at each voting place on the 4th. It also would explain the political phone calls I am getting from one side looking for me to volunteer to help get the ticket elected.

especially after I couldn't get my video recorder back together after I "worked" on it.

He does. He kind of looks like Santa and uses a scooter. He is such a nice guy, and it's fun working with him at night. Can't beat another Disney fanatic at work!

Theresa - I am still getting e-mails every day asking me to go to CO for some such election activity or other. I think it would be more fun to go to NM. If I could go to Santa Fe I could see Landon. He works part time at a B&B and they have wine and cheese hour every evening. He says it is fabulous. If I had $3 million maybe I would buy it. He said the owners just put it on the market. I know nothing about running a B&B, but it sounds nice.

I am moving slow this morning. It is cold! And it is Friday. I am ready for a day off. I am dropping Princess off to Momboss at 3 PM so I don't have a full day today. DS and I are going to a play tonight. It is the one Robyn saw last weekend. They all liked it, so I think we will have fun.

Partners card starts today and goes through next weekend. It's that card I've talked about before where you pay $60 and the proceeds to go the Family Place, then you get 20% off of all the retailers that participate, and there are a lot of them! I get most of my Christmas/birthday shopping finished and a lot of other things done as well.

Andrew has his first middle school party this afternoon. It's from 4 - 5:30 at a bowling alley, and it takes the place of a Halloween party. I think I'm helping chaperone, but they never really got back to me if they needed help. I'll run errands after that, tommorrow is soccer and errand running, and Sunday is Church and possibly more errands, but I might just stay home in the afternoon and crash.

Our church does a Christmas play that Emma really wanted to have a speaking part in. Well because practice falls at the exact same time as her Girl Scout meetings she can't have a speaking part. She does however get to sing in it and some of the kids have been picked to play the handbells. Since that practices on Tuesday nights she is going to do that and is very excited!!


While she was at the church I went up to her GS meeting to get all the stuff I needed for the Cookie Booth sale we are doing tonight. Please pray that I survive 3 hours in the cold with the girls, the first 1 1/2 of which I will be by myself with 4 or 5 girls! Oh and the most fun part~ I get to drive a full size, 9 passenger van that has all the cookies in it. The one mom has the cookies loaded up in it and since she lives on my street I get the fun job of driving it. She can't get there to later as she recently started a new job and can't ask for time off. I hate driving my mini van so I imagine driving this big of a van will not be fun at all.

I am off to work on Emma's costume a bit more. I am almost finished with it.

Congratulations to Emma for her part in the play!

Well, I know I could do it! Today I took apart my laptop.

Of course, I was being guided by the HP tech. Seems there is a hardware issue with some HP and Compaq laptops and my model was recently added to the list. I had checked into it before and forgotten about it. Imagine my surprise when my model number popped up on the list today. I called and we went through all the possible fixes, which included taking apart the back of the laptop and re-seating the memory and the wireless card. Man are those things tiny in there! That didn't fix my problem so the tech knew I was eligible for the Limited Warranty Service Enhancement "fix."

I just finished transferring all my files to a portable hard drive and when I get the box from them I will mail it in for repair. The guy kept saying, over and over, "You know your computer is waaaay out of warranty." I kept reminding him that I knew this, but the issue was a hardware defect not a warranty item. He said he knew that but they were required to make certain the customer was aware their computer was not under an extended warranty.

If she wants to go this route, Elin, let me know. Phil used to go to the dental school at Harvard or BU and was happy with it. I can find out from him where it was, etc.

I got the same phone calls today too, including the one to work for the party. Too bad I am not supporting the candidate they want to get elected! I hung up the phone because it was a canned call... idiots.

I haven't gotten the canned calls...they've been a real live english as a first language speaker. The last one is the one I nearly hung up on...she kept telling me to vote early. I told I was going in informed on the 4th
