Beth - I hope your BIL is doing better than the news sounded when I read it last night.

Elizabeth - That colonoscopy bill was a major blow. I know that you expected as much, but still... I am also glad to hear your Mom's treatments are going well.

Vicki - I am glad everything went fairly well at the ceremony yesterday. Now we know one of the reasons why Chuck is the man he is!

Stephanie - your poor GrandPug! I am glad things came out fine in the end... ;)

Mom was much more interested in him when he was little, but I never knew when the Ogre would be around. Even after the Ogre moved out he would show up unannounced ALL the time. Diva was MEAN to DS because she was so jealous of him so it wasn't safe to drop him off at Mom's house. So now DS is older and Mom isn't interested in him, only in the little girls.

That is so sad, Elizabeth. Like Theresa's in-laws, your Mom is missing out on getting to know a terrific kid.

I hope you have fun at the play tonight.

Good thing we are made of money or this might really put us in a pinch!

i am glad this is just a financial walk in the park for you all too, Elizabeth.

Now, someone remind me.. which candidate is going to overhaul our health care and insurance rackets... er... I mean businesses??

Good morning, DDA! :confused3

I know it is afternoon, but it took me this long to get on here. I think the wireless card on my laptop has gone bad. I had to ferret out an ethernet cable and hook up that way. Anyone ever replace the wireless card? Any idea if it is difficult? Or do you think I need to take this thing into the shop and wait forever for it to be returned???

it doesn't look terrible...but I'd be too chicken

DS calls my mom at least once a week so he does get to speak to her. She doesn't call him. She did make him a T-shirt in her art class, so I guess that's something. She stopped going to the class though, because she was too tired from the first chemo treatments. Since she feels fine now she could probably go back, but I don't think she has looked into it.
I think the play will be a lot of fun!

Neither. It's not just up to the president, and the House and Senate will never agree on anything. ;)
Now I kind of see DH's point about waiting until January to have it done. Oh, well! Too late!:sad2: It just seems WRONG to me that our portion of a single procedure (approved, in-network) is going to be almost $700. I know our payroll deductions for insurance are NOTHING compared to what we paid for our HMO, but that HMO was awesome. This PPO is crap. We pay 100% of the first $500, then 20% of everything after that. Great. I think our annual out-of-pocket max is something like $4000.

Elin - if for some reason she hears negatively about the insurance, have her contact a dental school nearby. My brother (no insurance) was able to get his teeth repaired at a massive discount from graduating students. And he was able to repair his whole mouth...no job he was able to cover it ok with his unemployment checks.

If she wants to go this route, Elin, let me know. Phil used to go to the dental school at Harvard or BU and was happy with it. I can find out from him where it was, etc.

Hi, DDA! Sorry to be MIA. Work is busy, and we had 3 babies die this week on my shift. It was so sad. And both of John's grandmothers are in the hospital and not expected to live long. He just left this afternoon to go see them both. He took his suit with him just in case. The kids are very upset at the thought of losing all 3 of their great-grandmothers in a one month time frame. But they are very excited about Halloween next week. Rees is Sorcerer Mickey, Davis is Cody the Storm Trooper from the Clone Wars, and Brantley-Kate is a green and black witch.

Hope everyone is well and sending out hugs!

I'm so sorry to hear about John's grandmothers. You are all in my prayers.

Mom's chemo went OK today. She is on track to finish chemo by Christmas - just 7 more infusions to go!
She still insists that she is coming for Thanksgiving. She has decided to wait until Wednesday to drive down, so that's better than driving down Tuesday night after she works all day. I guess we might get to see her for a bit on Saturday. DS is already uspet that she isn't coming with the intent to see him. If she sees him that's great, but it's not really her main goal. That's not fair to him, and I hate that he feels slighted. DH's mom would have loved him SOOOOO much. It isn't fair that the only grandparent DS has is one who isn't that interested in him. :sad2:

I'm so glad she's going well with the chemo and, better yet, that it's almost over!

Good afternoon, DDA! Wish I could stay and chat, but I've got to go get Kaylin out of bed and go pick up Phil from work. After that, I'm taking Terra, Kassie, Connor and Chase to Cici's while Kristi studies for her exit exam. Then, the older 2 are spending the night. So, with any luck, I'll be able to be able to get back on later while they watch a movie or something.

Thanks for keeping the chatting down:goodvibes

The good news is I had a grand time with the kids....if you ever worry about teens just ask me as I know about 80 of the best kids out there (we won't count the 2 who were suspended this week for keying somebody's car in a school lot:rolleyes1 )

The somewhat good news....the kids scored 7 pts better than their regional score and moved up 4 spots in the rankings....

the bad news they had to move up 5:sad2: to move on.

SO....band season is over and I am more sad about that than I thought I would be...I feel really bad for the seniors as this was their last performance.

THE WORST NEWS???? I had to come in and work:lmao:

you had Dude, or one of his relatives, in your house:confused3 :rotfl:

Sorry that gave me the giggles because Dude is the ultimate ferreting ferret.

Theresa - Sorry about the band. Even more sorry you had to go to work afterwards! ;)

me too...I asked Cassidy if she wanted to go in for me....she said UM!! NO!!:lmao:

I said "Why not?? A trained monkey could do the job"

Jim piped in "You mean I could do it?

"I said trained not untrained":rotfl2:

That had Cassidy's friend rolling...she's not used to me yet.

Hi everyone~
I got home from conferences (all over :)) and now im getting ready to head out but wanted to stop and say hello.

I got a package today!!! Thank you SO much Jennifer and Amy! I got a ton of stickers, which are great--i give stickers out every day so the kids will love these! I also got a thank you card set--thanks SO much!!

Beth -
Stephanie - your poor GrandPug! I am glad things came out fine in the end... ;)

Thanks goodness it didn't come out the other end!!!! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Elin,,,,,you left yourself wide open !!!!!:lmao:

Steffy and Terry, one of the guys I work with in the NICU is going on the Mousefest cruise with you. His name is Ray Sharpton, and he is one of our Respiratory Therapists.

Are you doing any of the land meets? We aren't, but our park days are the same as Mousefest's schedule. We'll be in Epcot on Sat, Dec 13, MK on Sun Dec 14. Hope we get to meet (again for Terry!)!

Sorry you've had so much hit you all at once.

Good, hectic...we have lots of people coming to see the house. It's hard to keep it spit-spot with 3 kids. I am also not this organized either so keeping the house completely neat is getting old.
I hope you can sell it soon so you won't have to keep showing it.:wizard:

Thanks for listening to me. It is nice to be able to share my feelings with my DDA friends. There are so many things floating around in my mind that I can't really share with Chuck right now. Thanks for ALWAYS being there.
