Deb, do you make hot chocolate from scratch? and if so please post the recipe.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! to your dh.

Elizabeth, Happy Birthday to your DH.

Elizabeth- Happy Birthday to your husband!! What was the accessory kit he wanted??

Elizabeth,
Happy Birthday to your DH:cake:

Thanks, everyone! :goodvibes

Theresa - It is some camera pack with a monopod, a tripod, a case to hold memory cards, a little bottle of lens cleaner, a little bag (which he probably doesn't need because we already have LOTS of camera bags), some scratch resistant stuff you can put on the screen of your camera (like Saran wrap, only different), a couple other things I can't remember. Oh, a card reader. I *think* if I understand correctly we can use it to load pics to the computer (which we don't need) but MAYBE load pics from the computer BACK to a memory card which would be cool if we bought a digital photo frame for my Mom. I don't really know much about card readers. The people on the photo forum talk about them but I don't usually read those threads. :confused3

If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Delta Airlines one year ago, you will have $49.00 today.

If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in AIG one year ago, you will have $33.00 today.

If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Lehman Brothers one year ago, you will have $0.00 today.

But, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the aluminum cans for a recycling refund, you will have received $214.00.

Based on the above, the best current investment plan is to drink heavily & recycle. It is called the 401- Keg.

A recent study found that the average American walks about 900 miles a year.

Another study found that Americans drink, on average, 22 gallons of alcohol a year.

That means that, on average, Americans get about 41 miles to the gallon.

Makes you proud to be an American. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm thinking I might drink a gallon of alcohol over the course of the year and with my job I probably walk more than most :confused3 What does that mean?

Thanks! I honestly don't think there could ever be enough time, but I would definitely recommend as much time as you can possibly put into it.

My mind is working on a 7-10 day trip through New England for next summer. It most likely won't happen between our stock market losses, getting Matthew ready for college (and paying our portion), and the need to do some pretty major work around the house. It's a nice thought, though.

Also, if Laura's synchronized swimming team makes Nationals again, I'm going to need to go to Gainesville, FL in late June. That's kind of the opposite direction from New England.

New England is nice. And you if your daughter gets over her stranger anxiety you could meet a DDAer or 2.

They read the beer can thing on the radio this morning.
Do you know how many years it would take for me to drink a GALLON of alcohol? :scared:

Never mind. ;)

I just went to Sam's. I remembered an accessory kit DH wanted for his cameras, so I got that for his birthday. I also got a cake. Mmmmm. Cake! ;)

I'm not sure what time to expect DH today. I am hoping he will be headed home when I pick up DS, because Princess REALLY wants to have cake with him. She is all about birthdays - mine, hers, anybody else's - it's all good as far as she's concerned. :rotfl:

Maybe Princess likes cake too :goodvibes

I think I should have been a carpenter too!! YIKES!!

Those prices are exactly why I do all of my own carpentry projects:thumbsup2

Nope. I bought a hot chocolate maker at Walmart last year. We use Swiss Miss mix that we buy in a big can, add water and turn on the pot. It makes great hot chocolate in a very short time :thumbsup2

Colby and I had a little nap. Now I'm off to conquer another room.

Here is the accessory pack. I know he wants it because we talked about it one day while we were shopping for something else. I can't remember why we didn't buy it that day, but I am glad we didn't! :rotfl2: I don't know enough about his cameras to choose stuff out of the blue.

Deb - Princess is a huge cake hound. She LOVES cake. :)

Sam's sells Land-O-Lakes hot chocolate packets in all different flavors. I mix them with milk and they are SOOOO good. But they have a ton of fat, sugar and calories in them, so of course they taste good! :rotfl2:

Speaking of hot drinks, somebody drank all of the chai tea I had in the pantry at work. It MIGHT have been me, but I don't remember finishing it. I need to get some more.

Elizabeth-that is a cool present.:goodvibes
Of course Princess loves cake....I can't imagine one of your charges not liking it.

Hey! My hot chocolate packets are gone, too! My bosses paid for the tea since it was part of the groceries. The hot chocolate packets were ones I brought over out of my huge stash from Sam's. It is just so ODD that it is all missing. I wonder if Momboss moved it when she cleaned the pantry? But I don't see it in the pantry at all. Weird.

She likes cake on her own - I didn't teach her that trick! :rotfl: Her parents love desserts. Momboss goes to the fancy-shmancy cupcake shop with some frequency. They have also discovered a fancy-shmancy donut shop. I need to go check that out. I am still swooning over the Dunkin' Donuts that opened awhile back, but luckily it is completely out of the way for me so I don't go very often.

Did I tell you that Matthew and dh's Volvo had a close encounter with a deer a couple of weeks ago?

The day is shaping up nicely in Princess's favor. DH just called and said I should bring DS home after school instead of taking him back to work with me. That should put us in position for CAKE!

Nope. Don't think you mentioned that. Who won?

Well, the deer definitely lost, since it died immediately. We won in the sense that Matthew is perfectly fine (though shaken at the time) and the car is still mostly driveable. We lost in that we do have to replace a headlight before we can drive at night and there will be some dents and other cosmetic issues that we won't bother to fix.
