DDA Chapter 12

I managed to put all of DS's outgrown shoes into a shopping bag today. That's as far as I got with de-cluttering. I did stand in his closet for a bit and survey the clutter. We have SO MUCH STUFF to get rid of! :headache: We still have cool mist and steam vaporizers that haven't been out of the boxes since DS was in preschool. We have toys, the aforementioned outgrown shoes, no telling what all else. I need a U Haul to get it all out of here.
Good luck with yours, Marci! :wizard:

Chanon, aren't moms FUN? ;) I planned and paid for my entire wedding by myself - Mom just had to show up. Which worked pretty well for her since Diva was born March 30 and I got married November 7 of the same year.

I called my mom to check on her before she has chemo tomorrow. She was at the grocery but nothing sounded good. Her neighbors are "still there". I told her I didn't think they would simply DISAPPEAR. The 8th grader smokes. OK, call CPS. The kids are outside making noise all the time. OK, call the police. But if it is broad daylight don't expect the police to come running! She says Diva is having nightmares about those kids breaking into the apartment. That is probably a legitimate concern since they don't have an intrusion alarm, but what can you do? Mom insists that they are moving when the lease is up. OK. Whatever. :rolleyes1 Mom said another neighbor was out there yelling at the kids the other night so she isn't the only one they are bothering. I told her she needs to stay on the leasing office about things that are actual lease violations, and keep quiet about the petty stuff. But she won't. :rolleyes1

At least he gets it naturally! :rotfl: ;)

:wizard: for your mom and Diva.

My work week is half over :cool1: This new kitchen staff is really making things chaotic. The leaf peepers have arrived and they are keeping a tight hold of their wallets. Tips are really sucking this year. This whole economic mess is certainly hurting our business. I hope things are resolved quickly or who knows where we will all be.

I'm off to play with car codes again

:wizard: that the transition is too chaotic for too long and for good tips.

If you find a crystal ball can I borrow it? I'm in budget meetings with the VP of Marketing this week (I'm the financial analyst for his group). Then we'll have a round with the VP of Finance maybe next week then with the President the last week of October. Projecting revenues should be real fun.:scared:

I was in meetings all afternoon today (and half the morning too) and when I got out at 5:30 I couldn't get my computer unlocked and all of IS would have been gone. I have a meeting at 11am tomorrow that I am NOT ready for but I'm afraid if I go in early I won't be able to find anyone to fix my computer.:headache:

:wizard: for your meeting. I hope you can get your computer fixed.

How do you like the Market Day stuff? What do you get? I've never gotten anything. It seems too expensive, IMO.

It is expensive:scared1: but the quality is there. There hasn't been one thing that we haven't liked. I usually only get the broccoli and stir fry veggies because we use a lot of it and theirs is the best. The broccoli isn't much more than what I've paid at BJ's and it 10x's bettter. I love their chicken steaks but they went up over $3 since last year.

It will be blissfully peaceful in my house until Oct 13th. The boys and their family left for WDW and will be not be back until that Monday. :yay: :yay: I hope and pray that the adults can get along so that the kids can enjoy it. From the bits and pieces I get from the boys' parents it has already been a bumpy road. I plan to enjoy these next few days as much as I possibly can!!

It's pouring here. This is day 2 of heavy rain. I think we may still have 2 more to go :sad2: That accompanied by the cooler weather is making for some dark and dreary days. We got the kids off to school for picture day. I don't know why I care as I don't buy the pictures anyway. They are always horrible. I need to return yet more pants for Hunter. We were closer this time so maybe today will be the charm :lmao: My Mother got a Kohl's 30% off coupon so I may grab that and check Kohl's out. I need WW muffins too. I need to drop a couple of lbs before our trip. More than a couple of lbs is just unrealistic.

Our school fundraiser is going on as we speak. Sally Foster.....wrapping paper and so forth, plus some other thing with candy, cookie dough and pizzas. This year I'm not buying anything. :( I just get tired of them ALWAYS having a hand out wanting something.

We do Sally every year. I don't try to sell it, as it's too big a hassle, but I do buy the wrapping paper (it's a great deal for the amount you get) and their gift bags. We also had Mrs. Fields cookie dough to sell, but I blew that off. I don't need to buy temptation...

No jitters but the crap hit the fan tonight. I told Bob's parents the wrong amount on the liquor cost. Given that Mom is helping out (alot) with the wedding cost, that didn't go over well. It ended up being something along the lines of I thought we talked about it and I said "you must have forgot". That put her over the edge - wrong words to say...should have been "let's fix it"...but that escalated into "why doesn't your father help out with money" and "i don't feel wanted" and "I'm leaving, you don't need me here" and of course the ever famous "what will they think". I hate the "what will they think" because "they" don't even know about this converation. :headache:

Things are fine now. We are watching Bones together. Well, on opposite sides of the couch. But that's better than yelling at each other trying to find out why she's really mad. (She doesn't feel wanted. I've suggested everything you guys have mentioned and more.) I'm really trying and I know I'm her "baby". I'm trying. Three days.

I'm so sorry! Hang in there. :grouphug:

morning all!!!

Morning. How's the classroom with the new kid?

It will be blissfully peaceful in my house until Oct 13th. The boys and their family left for WDW and will be not be back until that Monday. :yay: :yay: I hope and pray that the adults can get along so that the kids can enjoy it. Hooray -- enjoy that time!

I need to drop a couple of lbs before our trip. More than a couple of lbs is just unrealistic.

Good luck with the shopping. I just got on the elliptical for the first time in a long time last night. I didn't last but 9 minutes before my shoulder started really bothering me. That could have been due to the extremely heavy bags of expired condiments/food out of my fridge/pantry that I took to the trash can last night. I'll get back on it tonight. I also bought some WW cheese to snack on at work. I've been constantly hungry the past month or so and I've gained 4 or 5 pounds which need to come back off so I can get to the 10 I still need to lose.

Elizabeth -- sending PD for your Mom's treatment. Are you enjoying your days off?

Denise -- Have a safe trip. Please know we're sending prayers to your family.

Kristine -- how are you feeling?

We have soccer tonight and since Randy has been working so late, I might not get to more de-cluttering but I am making progress. It's amazing how much crap I've accumulated in 10 years in the house. The local Christian help center is having a garage sale in a week or two, so that's been good motivation as well.

Have a good day everyone!

Yay for quiet! I hope the boys have a good time at WDW. The grown ups probably won't get along because they did a horrible job of planning. I hope they learn their lesson! :snooty:

Dawn is that you? ;) My sister bags everything. Me... I love to wrap. ::yes::

Wrapping requires tape and scissors, which DS has usually snatched up and hidden somewhere. Bags are the way to go! :rotfl:

Marci - Well, I enjoyed yesterday. :rotfl2: Starting today DH is only allowed clear liquids so he will be grouchy. DS will still have to eat so I'll have to figure that out. Tomorrow we'll all be up at the same time trying to get out the door, and by tomorrow DH will be SUPER grouchy. We have to get DS to school and then be at the Dr's office by 8:45 AM. The office is way off in Irving somewhere. I imagine there will be lots of shouting because I HATE to drive with DH in the car. Of course there will be tons of traffic, in an area I am completely unfamiliar with, and he will be all snarly. And he is usually worse after the procedure than he is before.
I wish there was some sort of garage sale or something coming up! It would be great to just drop off all this stuff somewhere close! I guess it will go to Goodwill.
I hope your shoulder feel better soon! :wizard:

the leaves are drooping and falling off fast.

Tammi

Marci yea for getting rid of stuff!

Bernadette I hope things calm down at work for you :wizard:

Robyn enjoy your quiet days with the boys away!

Heidi the pictures you posted are beautiful. I do love fall & all the colors, it is what follows that I do not care for.

Deep breaths Chanon!!! Moms can be lots of fun. :rolleyes1

I need a vacation. Can I stow away with either Stephanie or Deb? Pretty please? I have 2 men in my life giving me grief, plus day to day crap. This weekend is not going to be relaxing at all. Three bday parties! One Sat and Sun. for Alyssa, one Sun. for Nicholas. Plus a football game in there on Saturday. Friday night we will go shopping for gifts. I have to bring drinks for the game on Saturday so I'll also have to pick up bunches of Gatorade. I wanted to get the kids' hair cut and go to the pumpkin patch, but that might not happen.
   for you Tammi. Hope things calm down for you.

For Daniels school we have "manditory" fund raising as part of our contract with his school. I do not fund raise for the girls school.

Heidi,
Beautiful pictures. Our leaves haven't really started turning yet.

Thanks for the taste of fall, Heidi. We don't have that here, yet, but I'm looking forward to it!

:worship: :worship: :worship:
Our house appraisel is tomorrow...Please send all the pixie dust you can for a good appraisel! We have been working like dogs to get things "perfect".

Thanks!!

Have a great day all!!!!!!!!!!:flower3:
