DDA Chapter 12

Well, we had a wonderful time!!! I'll post more later, once I get the pics uploaded and the PhotoPass info from Jennifer.

Some of the highlights:
--Phil survivied. He actually enjoyed several things, but it was just too much for him. I did get an offer of "I'll go to Disneyland with you guys anytime we got to CA and that way I can do Disney things with you." He says that DL is not as overwhelming to him as WDW so he can handle doing that so that we get Disney family time as well. It was more than I expected, so I'm happy.
--Terra got to be a giraffe in The Festival of the Lion King, ride a Stick Pony in Woody's Cowboy Camp, fight Matt in Jack Sparrow's Pirate Tutorial, and dance in the Block Party Bash. Seems like there was something else so I'll have to see in the report/pictures.
--I made a spectacular fall off of the bus at DTD which Jennifer was only about 20 feet from getting to witness herself. I'll share more later, but it lead to two tickets to Friday's MNSSHP after the CMs helping me that night found out how upset Terra was when she fell asleep minutes before the parade at the Tues party.
--We got to meet tons of characters and several that we had never seen before at the party - namely Tarzan and Abu.
--Loved loved loved Toy Story Midway Mania. Monsters Laugh Floor was fun too.
--Tons of yummy food and a few new favorites, I think!
--And as always, over waaaayyyy too quickly. Terra cried on ME back to the airport about not wanting to go home. Okay, I cried too and at MK the night before as I was leaving a beautiful, empty Main Street at 1am.

I'll try to start a report today or tomorrow. Mom's dinner is tonight instead of last week so I've got some clean up to do for that first. Until then, though, can someone catch me up on some of the thing I missed?

I'm so glad Phil enjoyed some things and understands how important "Disney things" are to you and Terra! I'm thrilled she got to participate in so many things and that you saw new characters.... it sounds like a wonderful trip! I can't wait to hear more details, especially about your MNSSHP tickets!

I forgot to mention - Bob and I plan on taking our laptop, at first just to upload photos on a daily basis and not loose any of our photos. BUT! Hard Rock has free WIFI in their public areas! :thumbsup2 (another reason to visit Universal for the non-DVC'ers) ...so we might be checking between the 9th and the 12th...
YAY! And maybe will get to see a picture or 2? :rolleyes1

Someone sent me an email about this Free Night of Theater coming up. Looks like it's a national thing so here's the info in case anyone is interested. I think Terra and I are going to go see Hansel and Gretel here.

How cool! Everything is already sold out here (out of 9 shows!) but I'll definitely keep an eye out for it next year. Thanks for the link!

Tia - Your trip sounds wonderful. Terra really got to do a lot! I'm glad Phil was able to tolerate it. YAY for DL! Can't wait to see pictures.

:
Ok, why no school? Ours aren't closed....? Is yours actually closed Robyn, or is Emma just taking off for Rosh Hashanah? And Jen, is yours closed for the holiday?

Enjoy your day off/together! :goodvibes
!
Ours is officially off for "fall recess" but its today..and again we have "fall recess" on October 9

I'm new at it too. Nope your not a spaz, I just figured it out myself. My sister said the old facebook was much better, she hates the new version.
I am nto a fan of this versino of facebook either

Tia I will try a small recap for you:

Denise's grandmother passed away

Glynis just found out some not so good news about her mother

Theresa just returned from spending a wonderful weekend with Glynis & family.

Jennifer & Kyle spent a weekend in Chicago & Elise gave them a scare on the way home, she stopped breathing. Thankfully all is ok now :goodvibes

Elin is enjoying the F&W festival right now & Stephanie will be leaving soon :cool1:

Robyn's Aunt passed away  & Emma's sub teacher was way out of line with her. Eric talked to the principal & hopefully something will be done so there are no further incidents.

Jen has a new student with special needs.

Deb & family are going a a Norwegian cruise next month :cool1:

Karen found out that Watkins is a carrier of a disease & is doing ok. Her power has been restored, but there is still a lot of damage to be taken care of.

Kristine & Bill had a few bumpy nights on their cruise & are now back at Disney.

Marci has been having home repair woes, hopefully all will be taken care of soon.

Beth is struggling with the decision of whether or not to leave her job

I know I am missing a lot, but this is all I can think of at the moment.

Tia sounds like you all had a good time, except for the tumble. Look forward to reading more!

YAY! And maybe will get to see a picture or 2? :rolleyes1
I'm hoping to remember my camera when we are getting ready, limo and hopefully before everyone gets to see the hall so I can see the wedding cake and the centerpieces.
I am going to start a "general" photo account and hopefully my MOH and everyone else can upload some pics into that for you guys.

Jennifer - :wizard: for Kyle. LOVE the new pic in your sig.

Tom - another wonderful creation!

Theresa - I'm reading, and hope I get to the pictures soon!

Sorry, one of the downfalls of being a one computer family...Abi needed the computer for homework last night. The pictures have been downloaded to the computer though!!

That sounds like a good plan. Are you starting to feel stressed or nervous yet, or are you able to relax and enjoy everything?

We are waiting :teeth:

You would melt in jeans unless you are really cold-natured.... this cold front they are talking about seems to have not done much IMO...

I am fine in shorts. I am cold natured, but not THAT cold natured! :rotfl2: I didn't even wear a jacket this morning and I was fine, so that is a clear indication that it is NOT chilly!

This is so neat! I will have to remember to try to snag some tickets tomorrow at noon! Robyn, the Mummy show we talked about going to is included! I think I might try to get tickets for the 24th since we have to be up EARLY for Race for the Cure on the 18th.

How cool! Everything is already sold out here (out of 9 shows!) but I'll definitely keep an eye out for it next year. Thanks for the link!

How can you tell if they are sold out?

Welcome home, Tia! I am glad you guys had fun! :goodvibes

Welcome home, Jennifer! I am sorry the girls were not feeling well on your trip! :guilty: Can't wait to hear more about it!

Tom the dress and Leighanna are divine.

Jen, love your new siggie.

Channon, very close now....:goodvibes

I need my bed. This financial crisis is really horrible for me at work. I just can't crystal ball this. And I am supposed to turn in a budget!!!:confused3 :confused3

Elizabeth.... cover your eyes!!!!

On a good note, I have my suitcase out. I'm taking my old one as my red Disney one, the wheels came off. This is an economy trip, so no new luggage for me. I do not think I'm going to take any pins to trade. :scared1: We are doing the DeluxeDDP, so my food budget is set. No matching t shirts. No postcards. No commando touring plans. Probably very few late nights. Definetly no park opening to fireworks days.  (will someone give Elizabeth mouth-to-mouth as you all know she's reading!) I figure I'll take my ears and then leave them in my owners locker.

Okay Elizabeth, it's safe to read again.

I don't want to take my laptop. I'm hoping all I'll need is my IPhone. We really need to RELAX. We need to return refreshed. This is my friend's first vacation in 4 years. I don't want her to even be tempted by a computer where she could log in to work... I just need to remember my little AC adapter so I can plug my phone into the wall outlet. The only shoes I'm taking are Crocs.

I can do this. I can do this. Okay DDA, tell me I'll be okay!!!!!:thumbsup2

You can do it!! Relaxation will happen!!

Are you kidding me. You're going to see your main main. Your favorite squeeze, the mouse himself...the big cheese. There is no way that you won't be ready :teeth:

 That's good to hear!

I really like this. Good luck, Beth! :flower3:

Theresa, thank you for posting! Glynis, your family will be in my prayers!

It can, just not as cute! If you go to..... I don't know, the top tab that says "boxes" or something...? To the upper right of your "Flair" section, you can select something about moving to "Wall Tab". It's not NEARLY as cute as it is on the 'bulletin board', but it's still on the front. See mine for an example if you'd like... basically you select one to "display", and then people can scroll through the rest. Again, not at all the same.... but something...?

I think pretty much everyone hates "New Facebook" , but then again everyone has hated it every time it's changed! :rotfl:

We haven't watched it, but this made me smile. Kyle is so irritated by The Mentalist's existence. He thinks (probably accurately) that people will start raving about what a great concept it is, even though it's been around in Psych for years and nobody's noticed. Why this is his problem, I have no idea, but it's hilarious watching him whine about it! :rotfl:

Ok, why no school? Ours aren't closed....? Is yours actually closed Robyn, or is Emma just taking off for Rosh Hashanah? And Jen, is yours closed for the holiday?

Enjoy your day off/together! :goodvibes

Welcome back, Jen! :goodvibes

You CAN! It will be wonderful! I agree with your not taking a laptop.... as much as I enjoy reading along with others' trips I'm too selfish! Using the internet while at WDW keeps me too "connected" with the outside world, which just isn't the same!

Good luck at work!

No laptop for us this trip. This is a short and hopefully relaxing trip. I'll post lots of photos when we get back though.

Glynis -- sending you and your entire family lots of prayers for strength. We're here for you 24/7 if you need us.

Beth -- good luck today!

Your plan sounds like a good one. Don't forget the adapter, relax and have a terrific time.

They say our cool front came through, but it's 71 now. I need some really COLD weather to kill some of the ragweed and fungus... Jake and I are both suffering right now.

Denise -- sending lots of prayers to you and your family.

Theresa -- I'm glad you had a great time with Glynis and her family.

Elizabeth -- how is your Mom?

Jen -- I'm glad you guys had a great trip. Sorry that the girls were sick.

Jennifer -- cute pics in your sig.

Deb -- we had no problems with bugs in Nassau or on Castaway Cay. I don't take beach towels. I'd rather use the towels from the boat and give them back to them instead of them laying in a wet/sandy pile in my room or me having to wash them. I know some people do take them, though.

I'm bringing in a nurse to give flu shots to my employees today, we have my nephew's football game tonight, and I need to rent the instrument for Andrew's next specials rotation after I pick the boys up from school.

I may have found some breakfast room chairs on Craig's list, so keep your fingers crossed!

Sounds like I can leave the bug spray and beach towels home. Less to carry:cool1:

It sounds like you had a wonderful trip, minus the fall. I remember Nick crying at the MK on the last night of his very first trip. We had planned to leave the park by 6 PM to go back to our room to pack, but we ended up closing the park as he just didn't want to leave:goodvibes

You MUST remember your camera and tell you wedding party that we MUST have photos. We can't be left hanging for 2 weeks ;) Could you just have a live feed set up :confused3 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
