I'm gonna ask for a little PD here too.

After having her knee redone my MIL was making good progress, Monday night she thought she was having a heart attack, and they rushed her to the hospital. Turns out she has a couple of blood clots, one in her back and one in her lung. She has been released from the hospital and is on Coumidin for three to six months.

While she was in one hospital, they took her brother to another. He has PAD and has had to have three toes aputated on one foot and had surgery to try and improve the circulation in his legs. He live alone and has been having a lot of trouble and didn't let anyone know, when it got to the point that he couldn't take it anymore he called and his sister took him to the hospital. He will definitely have one leg amputated below the knee and they are hopeful that the other can be saved.

It's always something.

Debbie, I am so, so sorry. Lots of PD and prayers headed your way!!

Robyn-:wizard: Hope your sister and her baby are OK.

Beth-:wizard: Good luck with your test results!

Jen-:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Marci-good luck with house repairs!:wizard:

Debbie-:wizard: for your MIL & her brother.

Janet-hope your back continues to improve.:wizard:

Kristen-hope the seas calm down.:wizard:

All this twin talk reminds me of when I was in college and my sister who is 6 years older worked on campus. People I didn't know would start talking to me and I'ld try to tell them they were looking for my sister but they wouldn't believe me. I'm about 5" taller than her too. I do have to admit I've mistaken her for me in photos.

It has been a bsuy week here. We only have the kids enrolled in scouting (all 3 but no troops for Emma or Joe yet) and Joe & Lizzy have piano lessons and Lizzy can start band this year. So Monday was Boy Scout sign up, Tuesday was piano and sign up for band instrument rental-Lizzy wants to play the trumpet, tonight was girl scout bridging-Lizzy is now a Junior and tomorrow night is open house for Joe & Emma.

For anyone who has taken their children to see Kung Fu Panda...

Will I totally regret taking my little ones? I know it's rated PG...does that mean they use words like "stupid" a lot?

Thanks in advance! :)
I hope you've gotten some answers. We haven't seen it.

Is it wrong that I giggle at my cat??:confused3 She has 2 enlarged mammary "pouches", hopefully just a reaction from anesthesia and treatments. But Cassidy last night said..."Pearl has big "girls" like the rest of us" :lmao: I swear to heaven it was all I could do not to bust out laughing!!
Just be happy Pearl is a SHE and not a HE. That would be even funnier. :rotfl:

So, I'm back from the hospital and my two tests. My doctor would be thrilled to know that I left the cardiac center and went straight to McDonald's. ;) I guess now I just need to wait for results. I consider it good news that they didn't immediately slap a wrist band on me and put me in a bed.
My kind of girl! Seriously, I hope all is well. How long until you get the results?

Bernadette - I have seen a photo of you and your sister and you do look strikingly similar! So has DH rallied any? Is he going to pitch in and do some of these activities with the kids?

I just talked to my mom. She has her second Taxol infusion tomorrow. The first one was OK - no horrible side effects. She got the scarf I sent her. She said she likes it. :)
Marci, she said to thank you for the bracelet. I imagine Diva will be the one who wears it, but Mom appreciated you thinking of her! :goodvibes

I need to ask for some good thoughts too--I cant get too much into detail now, but theres something giong on at work tomorrowa nd i cuold use all the good thoughts possible--thanks guys
Good thoughts, good thoughts, good thoughts.....

Marci - :wizard: PD for you too, hopefully you will have a great repairman. Sorry about the dentists bill.
Oh how awful. I'm so sorry to hear this. Lots and lots of :wizard: for MIL and her brother.

:scared::scared:I hope I live through tonight....huge waves....can't walk straight....so much swaying. Can't wait to see what adding in the wine package does to me.
I see you posted in green. I hope that is not an indication of how you are feeling. :sad1:

I was on a snorkel excursion out in the Florida Keys when hurricane Opal was coming through. The seas were 10 ft. high. It was the only time I have ever been seasick, and boy was I seasick. I got in the water and tried to snorkel, figuring if I got off the boat that I would feel better. Didn't work. Had to get back on. I can remember laying on the bench on the boat, crying, tell my boyfriend to have them 'take me back in'. His reply...."what are we going to do with everyone else. Just leave them." I was so sick I didn't care. "Yes! He can come back for them. Just get me off of here!" Of course no one was "left". I had to wait until the cruise was over. I got off the boat, showered, got some food in me and felt 100% better. Oh, by the way, that was the day that OJ was found NOT GUILTY. I can remember sitting in the car listening to the radio for the announcement before going into a restaurant to get something to eat.

Jen- Good thoughts for you tomorrow.

Debbie- Lots of :wizard: headed your way for your family and you as well.

Elizabeth- :wizard: for your mom

Beth- :yay: for going to the tests today!

Janet- I hope your back continues to feel better.:wizard:

Kristine- :wizard: for calmer seas.

My girlfriend called me tonight and asked me if Emma mentioned the incident in school today. I told her she hadn't and she was surprised so she filled me in on it. Emma's class had a substitute and my girlfriend was in the class volunteering and said the most of the kids in the class were being rather unruly and doing all those things kids do when there is a sub. The sub was annoyed that the kids kept digging through their desks and chatting. So she told them all they needed to stay out of their desks and continue on with their work. By this time my girlfriend was in the hallway and as she was making her way back in she heard the sub snap at one of the kids. She then walked back over to where she was sitting and Emma had her head on her desk sobbing hysterically. Emma was the one she snapped at. Emma's pencil broke and she went into her desk to get a new one and "got caught". Now Emma didn't mention any of this but I asked her about it and she got upset, she was afraid we'd be mad at her. I am willing to give the sub a bit of leeway that it is beyond frustrating that the kids act all crazy when there is a sub but I think snapping at the kids like that is uncalled for.:sad2: Most of the kids in Em's class were in her class last year and we all know how well they functioned with a sub.

That sounds like an awful experience.

Robyn, poor Emma! I am sorry that happened. That would be something that would happen to DS. And it would fluster him so much that he wouldn't be able to defend/explain himself.

You already have your Tut tickets, correct? I got a 20% off code today if you need it.

:wizard: Hope your Mom does OK!

DH did bring a cori form (sp?-the form you fill out so they can do a background check on you) to Lizzy's school today so he can do some activities. They told him it was good for 3 years but I don't know if he thought to ask if he had to do one for each school. He also told me that the field trip I wanted him to go on with Lizzy has been postponed.

I am going to go to open house tomorrow because they will have a girl scout sign up for Emma and he will get all flustered with that.

I've been reading dSLR reviews.......I'm thinking Christmas but it would be nice to have for Christmas card photos if I don't use one of our photopass photos. I've been spending hours and hours adding borders and I still have almost 100 photos still to go and we only had about 264 to start. My photos expire Sunday so I'll have to be done by then.

Poor Emma! Did the sub try to console her?

We "almost" overslept this morning.
I don't think that we have ever moved so fast. Leighanna made it to school on time with a few seconds to spare! Whew! I guess I should have made sure the alarm was set.

Leighanna did get full credit for her work. She now has an A in Written Composition. So all A's and S's for now!

No more scratching or itching either! Only me when I think about it!

Have a great day DDA!

I'm glad that your week has improved. It's great that she has straight A's now and the no itchy is certainly an improvement.

I know I can count on you guys so can you all spare some good thoughts and pixie dust for my sister. She went to the dr.s yesterday and her amniotic fluid is high and her white blood count is low. They are concerned because it can be a sign of infection mainly the CMV virus or a sign of diabetes, she passed her glucose screening so I imagine it's not that. She is going for blood work today but I imagine it may be a few days before she finds out anything. When she was pregnant with her first DD, who was stillborn) she had the CMV virus but it went undetected until they did the autopsy on my niece. I appreciate it.

:wizard: How scary :wizard:

Robyn, prayers and pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: for your sister!

I have the mammogram and echocardiogram today, so I'm looking for a little DDA pixiedust that it's all a waste of time and money again.

I hope all went well

Hello Friends,

Sorry if I forget someone, (I'm sure I will)

Deb - Hope Hunter is feeling much better

Robyn - Lot's of PD for your sister, and could Lucy be any cuter?

Elizabeth - I would contact the woman organizing the lunch and ask her what to bring. People always think Brandon is ours when we have him, but don't worry he sets them straight. :lmao:

Jennifer - Have a great time in Chicago

Channon - Love the hair and your dress is so beautiful, we'll all be thinking of you, and waiting patiently (not) for pictures.

Janet - Are you feeling better?

Elin - If I go MIA before you leave, have a great trip!

Jen - hope all goes well at work

Beth - :wizard: PD for wasted money and job appreciation. I do have to say though, that if Girl doesn't get some ice cream soon I'm going to boycott your trip report! :rotfl:

Theresa - have a wonderful trip, and we will be waiting for pictures, no excuses!

Glynis - Take care of yourself and peanut

Tammi, Terry, Heidi, Becky, Steffy, Tom, Bernadette :wave2:

Very nice so I'll quote and say ditto.

Well after checking out the latest changes to our November flight I gave Air Tran a call and cancelled, we would now be landing at 6:59 pm leaving time for nothing on our arrival day.

We will be driving the truck, with no luggage worries which means I can do as much shooping as I want and not worry about transporting it.

And since the cancellation was due to their changes I will be receiving a full refund, so even with a stopover there and back and gas we will be spending less.

Driving isn't all bad. You can bring everything you want and you have your own transportation. We would always drive if it weren't 27 hours :scared:

I'm gonna ask for a little PD here too.
