Something is thumping outside and it is annoying the bejeezus out of me! It is kind of like hammering, but not quite. Kind of like a basketball bouncing, but not quite. Kind of like someone chopping wood, but not quite. Maybe someone pounding fence posts into the ground? Whatever it is I wish they would STOP THUMPING!

Guess what I found this morning as I was brushing Leighanna's hair for school this morning? The dreaded lice. Ugh!
Today is picture day at school.
Needless to say Leighanna will miss it.
We called the school. Apparently they are not allowed to inform parents if a child has been infected. They only hinted that Leighanna should ALWAYS wear her hair up. Apparently there is a child in her class that has them and is continuing to go to school untreated.
Off to spend the next 5 hours trying to get this out!
I have to bag all her stuffies for two weeks and wash all the bedding in hot water. I have a feeling this is going to be a long day!

Princess had her haircut this morning, then we stopped by the mall. The Dillard's in there has been going out of business for weeks. I figured it would be gone by now! But it isn't! Of course Princess wasn't in the mood to browse, but I did find a scarf for my mom. A very nice, 100% silk, Lauren scarf. 75% off the original price!
I bought the new Kingdom Keepers book for DS but I am going to wait until he finishes his books from the library before I give it to him. He did finally finish Wrinkle In Time, and now he is reading Island of the Blue Dolphins. It's another one that is below his reading level, but it's a good book. I also got him Julie of the Wolves and Witch of Blackbird Pond. I know those are books he wouldn't choose for himself, but I bet he will enjoy them.

okay Olivia went with my mom for the afternoon. I went to print the auotgraph cards and all I have is colored card stock. ugh. Wish I would have checked it before today. Now I have to wait till Jeff gets home to help me decide which color to use with which character.

so as a spur of the moment thing...tonight is pizza and movie girls night at my house. The perfect antedote to a crappy week is bad for you food, movies and two girls to cuddle with.

I made the crockpot beef tips today & it is pretty good. I only used 1 pound of meat, so next time I will cut back on the wine. I can really taste it.

Yep! It's our wedding present. It's a natural gas grill that we will probably put together sometime this winter in the garage and hook it up to the gas line in the spring. As much as I'd LOVE to get it up this year, I really doubt it will happen. (I'm not fond of gas and connections of any kind that involve gas. I freaked out when they installed our gas dryer. I can't handle that now.) But it's awesome!!!

Bernadette- Thanks for the vote of confidence. I am probably taking on way more than I should as I have never, ever attempted to use a sewing machine. I'd be lucky if I could turn it on.

We spent the evening at the Oktoberfest at the local Army base. My mom and Eric's father went along with us. Eric's mom went to work tonight and my dad's bedtime is 7pm! The girls had a lot of fun dancing to the band. Lucy loved toddling all over the dance floor trying to get all the balloons. There was a cooking demo by this chef He was hilarious and shared a shot of the liquor he was cooking with with all in attendance! He told me that I should give Lucy a shot as she was getting rather restless and pretty vocal!! A good night out.
