Very cute!! I have to tell you that I have convinced Eric to help me make dresses for the girls for Christmas. (We'll see if we can actually accomplish this task without killing one another, though) We are going to make the t-shirt dresses and Emma saw that booklet on it and said "Oh those are just like the the dresses Leighanna's dad made for us. I really love my Minnie dress mom!"
Oh, how sweet for her to remember that I made them. Good luck Robyn. They are somewhat easy to make. If you need any assistance let me know!

Guess what I found this morning as I was brushing Leighanna's hair for school this morning? The dreaded lice. Ugh!
Today is picture day at school.
Needless to say Leighanna will miss it.
We called the school. Apparently they are not allowed to inform parents if a child has been infected.:confused3 They only hinted that Leighanna should ALWAYS wear her hair up. Apparently there is a child in her class that has them and is continuing to go to school untreated.:sad2:
Off to spend the next 5 hours trying to get this out!
I have to bag all her stuffies for two weeks and wash all the bedding in hot water. I have a feeling this is going to be a long day!

I have less then a week to wear the boot. :cool1:  I have had a busy week. I think I am headed to bed.

Woohoo!!!! :yay:

Just in case anybody was wondering....I have 160 hrs, give or take a few minutes, before I get to meet Glynis:cool1: :cool1: :rotfl2:

I'm so happy for you! You guys are going to have so much fun. Enjoy your self to the fullest and relax, relax, relax. (Sounds like a perfect trip to me!)

:woohoo: Wow you sound so ready!!!! Have a very magical trip!!!!

I'm just proud of myself for being this ready so soon. Maybe it was hearing Elizabeth's packing mantras for awhile now. The last several trips, I was ironing shirts and packing with less than 12 hours (what should have been sleeping hours, no less) before our flight.

Ai Yi Yi Yi Yi! You guys have quite a day in front of you. Terra and I both had short, fine hair when she got them and even that was a pain to take care of. I can't believe they aren't allowed to inform parents! Doesn't that just increase the likelyhood of an outbreak and take it longer to come under control? :headache: Tell Leighanna that we are so sorry and know just how she feels. Good luck to you both.

This made me smile! When Kyle and I lived a few hours apart (the summer between when he graduated undergrad and before he started med school), we would see each other every weekend. I would start counting down by hours on about Tuesday :goodvibes

I'm so excited for you!

Thank you!!!! So far my day has been great. Went to lunch with Terry. Have spewnt the past two hours downloading Disney ringtones for my IPhone. Boy is this a really cool toy. I'm still millions of pages behind. I'm going to catch up before I go nite, nite.

Thanks again!!!!

I'm glad you had such a good day! Let me know when you get to downloading applications... there's lots of fun stuff available! :thumbsup2

 OMG! Is she in a public school? If I still have administrator skills ;) and I remember correctly, I can point you directly to Ohio law that says a) the child can't be there untreated and b) they HAVE to inform other parents (confidentially, but still!)!!!!!

I'm SO sorry! Leighanna's hair looks like mine and my sisters - thick, and lots of it! We got lice once from school and it was horrible to resolve. I hope it just takes one time through! (And don't forget to treat EVERYTHING -- clothes, bed stuff, stuffed animals, etc. ETA: I see you are, sorry. I didn't read well once I read the first part :rotfl

Throw out the hairbrush, it's not worth trying to fix since they're cheap!)

Thanks Jennifer and Tia.

Since Leighanna crawled into bed with us last night, we are all in for treatments today.:scared:
I don't know whether to cry or be mad!
The school secretary said that they are not allowed to inform us. I really wish they would!
And yes, she is in public school.

Tom sorry to hear how your day has started, I hope it is not to stressful for you or Leighanna

I am really surprised that the school says they cannot contact the parents. Whenever there has been a problem at the schools here, they always send home flyer's alerting us.

must be the time of year...we got a notice home stating that a kid in Chris's grade has lice....I checkED everyone...so far nothing

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO DEB & STEPHANIE

Happy-Birthday-Marie.gif

Chanon no box today :confused3
Nope, no boxes from the DDA...though Bob's parents did send us a box... :teeth: I'll post a picture of that later today for you guys.
Did I miss what was in the last boxes :confused3 I remember seeing the outside of 2 or 3 boxes, but I don't remember the contents. It could just be my fuzzy brain though
The last box was Tammi's. She sent a cute scarecrow soap hand pump and towels embrodered with pumpkins.
After watching the WDW shows tonight we are in the planning mode. Unfortunately our trip is too far away to plan much. At this point we are thinking we'll do 3 nights at Universal Studios upon arrival in Orlando. That way we can conquer the New Harry Potter World. If we stay onsite there we will have front of the line access to all attractions. The hotel will be out of pocket and a bit pricey, but probably well worth it. That will also make our points go further at WDW. :thumbsup2
Staying at Universal is the best way to go! Rooms are expensive, but so is FOTL access - and it's great to be able to walk to both parks. Try to go during the week and prices seem to be cheaper on the rooms.

Tom, All the stuffies need is to be bagged for 24 hours.

Really?!?:lovestruc
I read on one website to bag for two weeks, and on the other to bag for four weeks!
It would be nice to not have to wait as long!

I was so upset when our neighborhood kids kept getting it and had a person from the health dept come in to the elementary school and give a talk. Of course that was more than 20 years ago. But I don't think that part has changed. Maybe call the school and see what they recommend. You gotta figure that if the little bugger is off of the head for 24 hours, the same would apply for putting everything in bags and closing them tightly.

OMG! :scared1: All that long, beautiful hair is going to be a nightmare to get all of the nits out of. :sad2: You also need to vacuum the furniture and immediately throw out the vacuum bag. I am so sorry.
I tend to think the school is wrong. I am pretty sure whenever there is an outbreak of anything communicable they have to tell you. Maybe that is only for preschool, though. Hmm. I think when a child has lice they are not allowed back into the classroom until they are checked by the school nurse or an administrator and cleared. If your school is allowing an infected child back in the classroom then I would call the health dept. and report them.

Woohoo!!!! :yay:

Glad to see SOMEONE appreciates my packing strategies! :snooty:

Ick. You guys are making me itch.
The week I started with Princess I got a call from a camp director. She wanted me to come get Sister because she had lice. Um, NO.
I am paranoid about lice and I am always telling DS not to try on hats at WDW because you never know who had the hat on before you. When I buy baseball caps I look for the ones that are still folded with the cardboard inside so hopefully there is nothing in there. :scared:

Hmm... let me look at the regs. I know them forward and backward for preschools, but I'll have to look at others. I can't imagine they would be that different. Good luck with the treatments, that stinks! :wizard:
