Hmmmm. Although Kathrin's company has sent her and a co-worker to Las Vegas for the week... she texted me three times last night at 1:23 AM our time:

1. We are here. It is almost like Disney!
2. My room is HUGE. I am a PRINCESS.
3. Been here an hour and I am drunk already.
.
I know ive sent text number 3 to my mom before--she thought it was hysterical that i sent her that!

Kristine - my whole family is on pins and needles for you.

THinking about all our DDA'ers with bad weather

Checking in...thanks for thinking of us...

thanks for the call Stephanie.....

a couple of quick observations/facts...

I have never seen so much water move so quickly down a street before. I truly feel horrible for people who have to deal with this stuff in a higher magnitude..I can't even imagine

I am grateful I do not have a ranch style home...the 6 ranches here took a tidal wave of water through their front doors

the houses on either side of me are taking in sewer water as we speak (as God is my witness I am knocking on wood as I type this, because we are not)

one of the ranch homes I mentioned has 8 inches of water and is rising...the owner is an 89 year old woman with no family. she was openly weeping on the sidewalk...which in turn caused the rest of us to cry. I am currently housing her because I am worried she will electrocute herself.

our damage is isolated in one side of the basement....we are dealing with it as best as we can.....if our sewer holds out I think we can stay.

we were planning on leaving to visit friends prior to our wdw trip...that will not happen now.

it could be worse...I just truly hope our sewer can hold out.....it continues to rain....with worse weather on the way.

I am wishing there was something I could do for you other than pray, Kristine.

Bless you for taking in your neighbor. I am sitting here thinking that in another lifetime it could be my Mom. :grouphug:

Can I just say that the new show imagination movers is worse then the doodlebops on the dumb scale

Princess has never watched that, but she is fond of the Doodlebops. One of those groups is playing at a casino in OK. I found that peculiar.

Kristine, that is terrible! I am glad you are helping your neighbor. I really hope you don't have sewage backing into the house.:sad2: Let us know if there is anything we can do.

Elin - I received your card today. (And I have to say, those envelopes are just too cute!)

Stationery from a student. I get some really cool gifts! ;)

I am glad that it arrived. Let me know how it goes!

Kristine,

Stay safe, I wish I could do more, but many prayers are headed your way.

Kristine - I am praying that the worst is over for you. :wizard:  Please, please keep us posted.

The football game was great! They won 20-0, and Nicholas played a lot. He's playing wide receive but the hardly ever throw, so he is doing a lot of blocking. He did get a holding penalty called against him. He really got in there and got aggressive, which I was pleasantly surprised about. I'm going to upload my pictures now.

Also, I just bought airline tix for my parents. They are going! :woohoo: Now I just have to get ours.

YAY! for Nicholas..

Double YAY for your parents going! And for their airline tickets being booked!!

I assume you guys decided not to drive?

Things are going from bad to worse.....the water has rushed down the street like an ocean......the house 5 down is flooded out...we have begun to take water in the basement.....thankfully we are somewhat higher than the house 5 down....what a nightmare

pixiedust: that you stay dry! :grouphug: for you and all your neighbors!

Glynis, one of the names you chose for your new son is Timothy Locke correct?

My maiden name is Adams. I grew up hearing the theme song all the time! Actually, though, I didn't mind, as I found them an intriguing family. Much more interesting than mine!

Yay!! Congrats to Nicholas!

I am glad your parents decided to go to WDW!

Our flight TO Orlando is up on the AA site to be booked with miles, but the return flight isn't available yet. I don't think I can just book that first leg without the return portion, so I am going to hope the front half is still open when the back half becomes available.

Kristine please stay safe! Bless you for taking in your neighbor

Elizabeth :yay: on getting the last 3 nights!

Tammi congratulations to Nicholas & happy to hear your parents will be joining you in Dec.

Terry hope you have a wonderful evening, Happy Birthday to Hal!

Elin sounds like your dd is having fun ::yes::

Everyone in Ike's path my thoughts are with you.

It has been raining non stop here since last night. I am thankful that we have no flooding. Our gas prices went from $3.65 a gallon to $3.99 last night. Today before I left work I was told to raise it to $4.29 :sad2:

I am glad you have no flooding to deal with, Janet. But :scared1: the gas prices!
