Becky, Even though it has not been since 1968 since I went to DL, I can still remember a lot of things from then.

You should put posts on the disabilities site for those that do not know the different entrances for the rides. I would sure appreciate knowing this before I went to DL

Sue from the disabilities board. Put a link for my trip report in the FAQ section under Disneyland. As there is hardly any information under that section.

So, Hal and I are going with the kids and grandkids to a local Polo match tomorrow.

Lets just say it will be a bit nostalgic. I am giving away one of my secrets. :lmao:

Way, way back in 1971 we went to one in Hawaii. It started out really nice, good eats, good drink, good times. Then a thing called Boone's Farm Apple Wine happened and right about the time that half-time started, I do not remember what else happened. Yes, since I was only 21 years old and not a drinker at that time, I got a little plastered and do not remember helping to replace the divots or anything after that. I asked Hal if I got stupid or something like that, and he replied, -----Not sure cause I really do not remember much either. :lmao:
Ah yes, youth,,,,,,,

Have a good time & enjoy the Boones Farm :rotfl:

Thanks for all the info. I need to get a new copy of my birth certificate. I only have the original and it isn't formatted like the new ones. I wonder if they would accept the wallet size version or if I need the full sized one? I apparently also need my marriage certificate.

I would love to take the kids to the Atlantis waterpark, but it is over $150 pp through the cruise. I wonder if it is cheaper just going :confused3

Not sure about the sizes of the bc. The room we rented for the day on our Wonder cruise was around 225 plus taxes. That's why we did it --much cheaper than the Disney excursion. It was a total blast! We are thinking of going back either there in Dec. 2009 or to DL.

I'm sorry that the planning has been so stressful. Hope you have a terrific time!

Jen -- sorry about Elise. I'm glad it seems to be a one-time thing.

Elizabeth -- sorry about your Mom's neighbors. I hope that gets worked out ASAP so your Mom can get her rest.

Terry -- Boones Farm was what we drank in high school... Strawberry Farm and Tickled Pink were my favorites. I think they were $3 or $4. I was a cheap date back then! ;)

Kristine -- glad you're back on WDW property safe and sound!

Becky -- nice pics.

I had to pick Jake up from baseball lessons and get him to his soccer game. Their move to the older division is not going well. I then went in to Dallas for a pedicure and the rest of the day running errands for work and for myself. I made it home just before dark so I could take flowers to the cemetery since it's Mom's birthday. And it's been a good day. :goodvibes

I'm off to a jacuzzi bath my husband just drew me and more margarita!

I have spent 3 hours looking at car rentals and airfare. Of course I ended up booking different airfare than I had planned so now I can look at car rentals all over again. :sad2:

I ended up booking a flight from Manchester, NH to Tampa on Saturday Oct 18. It will put us in Tampa at 11:30am. Then we'll drive to Disney. I'm hoping to stay that Beach club, but haven't even looked yet :rolleyes1 Monday morning we will leave from WDW and drive 3 1/2 hours to Miami for the cruise. On Friday the 24th we will arrive back in Miami and have to depart the ship by 10 AM. We will rent a car and drive to Fort Lauderdale and hang out there for the day, catching at 7:45PM flight.

At least some things are ironed out.
Why are you flying into Tampa vs Orlando, Miami or Ft. Lauderdale? Price?

My friend Chris just texted me. (Both him and his wife are in our wedding.)

Jennifer - I'm glad Elise is doing much better now. How scary for you and Kyle. I had a similar situation when Nicholas was a baby. He was gumming on a biter biscuit and a hunk of it broke off and lodged in his throat. Thank goodness I was right there and saw him panicking. I yanked him out of his high chair, flipped him upside down and gave him back blows. It came out immediately. I was so surprised at myself that I didn't even hesitate in knowing what to do. I just went right into first responder mode. Afterward is when I started freaking out, knowing what could have happened.

Elizabeth - lots of pd for your mom. I hope the new neighbors settle down.

Becky - love the report!

Marci - enjoy your jacuzzi and margaritas!

What a day! I was up and out of here at 9AM. Went to Nicholas' game, which they won, and then came home for lunch. I was back out around 2 to go shopping. First stop, Old Navy, where I got a pair of jeans, after over an hour of milling about. Then Dress Barn, again more wandering, but no purchasing. Over to Target to pick up a few essentials. Then I spent the rest of the night in the mall. I got 2 pair of dress slacks and a shirt for myself. Plus I got the kids a few things. My feet and my back ache.

Obama and Biden were at Mary Washington University tonight, which I pass on my way home from the mall. As I was heading east, their motorcade was leaving the University. There must have been 100 various police and Secret Service vehichle, plus there were about 4 big tour buses. It was their first joint appearance since the convention. Kinda cool, I guess.

checking in....back on land! I updated the trip report....we are exhausted but having fun

Hi, Kristine! :)

Have a fun evening!

Thanks! We had dinner at PF Chang's. We putzed around the mall a bit, then we got some ice cream from Cold Stone for dessert. I am STUFFED.

Sorry your mom is having to deal with this as well. Hope it can be taken care of without her actually having to move :wizard:

Thanks! I called the leasing office again and talked to a person. I told her the problems keep escalating, my mother has stage III breast cancer, this is NOT working out. The lady was very apologetic and said they would absolutely approach the neighbors about their behavior. Of course the property manager wasn't there since it is Saturday, so we'll see if anything ACTUALLY gets done. She did tell me those people are waiting on a 3 bedroom unit so hopefully they can move them soon. Well, that's encouraging! I called Mom and told her. She then decided to fuss about people who live in her complex with big dogs. The weight limit is 35 lbs, but some people have bigger dogs. WHY does this matter? :confused3 I told her she better decide which things are really the most important to her to gripe about, because the leasing office is not going to be very sympathetic beyond the neighbor issue. Bad neighbors are truly an impediment to her healing because she isn't sleeping. She needs to get over the dogs.

Chanon, I am getting so excited for you. :cool1:

Yay, Chanon!!

Marci - Sounds like another busy day for you!
Hugs to you on your mom's birthday.

Becky - There was a robot on TV last night that is at our State Fair - it looks a lot like the one you saw but this one is made by Toyota (I think). Sounds like you had a nice time at DL! :)

Pedicure and a jacuzzi bath vs fighting with rental car codes  Can I be you? ;)

Thank you.
I was thinking that maybe it was a way to psych out the other team.

In some instances, that would work, but Penn State has the colors of Blue and White, Illinois has the colors of Red and White or Red and Blue according to the cheerleaders . But a whole stadium of white is pretty intimidating no matter how you look at it.

Why are you flying into Tampa vs Orlando, Miami or Ft. Lauderdale? Price?

Yes, we couldn't get a good rate at any of the other airports for Saturday. Tampa was $89 so we took it, thinking that we would be staying at WDW. That drive isn't bad at all. The drive to Vero Beach is a bit longer though

So we went to seek out a spot for the Dreams Come true fireworks. We found a spot and Stephen, went to go do something. I can not remember what. Turns out what we thought was a spot as well as lots of other people was a walkway. So I told them I would move as soon as he came back for me.

We ended up in front of the partners statue concrete on the pavement, looking at the castle slightly to the left. I'm not sure how early we got there. All I know if that everyone was trying to walk through all the people sitting on the ground. They kept trying to squeeze around the wheelchair. At times I thought I was going to tip over as people kept running into the handholds. They were also stepping on my feet. Can I say it was not a pleasant experience. The people next to me started yelling at people for walking through.

There was a nice walkway behind us. Where I was previously sitting that was hardly being used. Hence the reason we thought it was a place to stand. I have never experienced this at WDW. I am normally in the same area in front of the castle at WDW. I think it is how they route people is different. Not sure but myself and the others around me were not happy with everyone walking through. I thought about using my crutches to whack people.;)

Right before the fireworks were about to start they made everyone stand up. So even though the fireworks were way in the air, I could only see the backs of people's heads. So I stood up. Well there were still people walking through. They almost knocked me over more then once as they walked right into me. Stephen kept telling me to fall on them.

We could have went in a wheelchair area but chose not to. People were not just running into me. They were running into everyone.

We should have been further to the right as trees were in the way.

I loved this fireworks show. It is the best fireworks show I ever saw. My pictures do not do it justice. It is a lot better then Wishes.

After Remember Dreams Come True, we joined the Exodus of people heading to Rivers of America for Fantasmic. It is quite chaotic as they lead everyone that direction, those who are leaving have to u-turn out of the park. We made it to the wheelchair viewing area. It is right at the water's edge across from Pirate's Lair. We went as far left in this area as we could. We had about 15-20 minutes to wait before Fantasmic started.

For those of you who have never been to Disneyland there is not theater with seating for Fantasmic. It is held around Rivers of America, and you just stand there to watch the show. Most people sit until before the show starts.

I loved this version of Fantasmic. It is some much better being on the actual river then at WDW.

We talked about whether we were leaving or not, as it was approaching 11pm. We decided to go see if Buzz Lightyear was open.

It was open. Since this is a relatively new attraction, you enter through the regular entrance and they pull you aside to board.

This has a moving walkway to the cars. They can slow it down if you want them to. In this version you can remove the guns from the car.

By the time we got back to the room it was basically midnight. We contemplated calling our parents as they should have been up getting ready to go to the airport. Since we had done everything we wanted to at Disneyland, we were not getting up super early to go there. We planned on sleeping in as we were going to go to California Adventure and it only opened at 10am. By the time we got to bed it was probably 1am.

What a slow night! I was almost the last and first?! That never happens!

Good morning, Janet!
