DDA Chapter 11

Does anyone have any advice?

Mondays for the next 9 months are going to be horrific for me. Without going into the whys, other than it just works out for the best this way believe it or not, Alyssa has ballet on Monday at 5:20-6:05 and then they have Religious Ed. at 6:30-7:45. Luckily they are only about a 10 minute drive apart. So I will pick the kids up after school and may or may not have time to run home and change real fast. It depends on traffic. Here's my question....does anyone have any idea how I can get dinner into them without making it a routine McDs drive thru night???? I can leave ballet and run down to McD, go back and pick Alyssa up, and they can eat on the way to RE. We RARELY eat fast food and I don't want to start. Especially making it a weekly thing. Would I be a bad Mommy if I just packed PBJ, chips, juice box, etc and gave them that for dinner? I guess it can't be worse than McD. Maybe even better. UGH.

There are all kinds of options. PB&J is a fine option. You can buy salami, cheese & crackers, fruit, etc. It is much better than McD's.

It is only once a week & there is nothing wrong with PBJ sandwiches, sounds good to me :thumbsup2

I would pack a picnic lunch for them. Subs are always easy and you could make them in advance. A thermos of soup with a sandwich. Cold homemade pizza. Anything that you would send for school for a lunch would be fine.

How about baggies with fruit and some with cheese. Also some good, rustic bread. There could be some meat if they really want it too. We used to pack that kind of thing in an ice chest on our trips to WDW when the kids were little.

Ummmm.... Chanon.... that isn't at WDW....

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

:teeth: Given that rooms onsite at UO are probably going to be OUTRAGOUSLY priced and full - we'll have to get a few days in at Disney too! :teeth: I really doubt Bob and I are going to go back to Disney prior 2010. Next year we are going to Arizona and NV, probably early April if we can afford it. If we don't think we can afford it, Bob might go alone and meet Mom there (The White Sox and Indians spring training are now both in AZ). Then at Thanksgiving I can convince Bob's family that it's time for the family reunion to go to Disney for 2010!!!

You could also do tacos, by having a thermos of meat. Then assembly the tacos or do Taco salads. Or tacos in a bag with the bags of Fritos, you put everything in the Frito bag.

Carrot sticks, grapes, yogurt or pudding. Crackers and cheese.

My kids won't eat lunchmeat so I'm limited when it comes to sandwiches. Plus whatever I decide to take will have to go with me in the morning in case I don't have time to swing by the house in the evening.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I'll muddle through somehow.

My nephew would only eat pepperoni but he loves that. That works with the crackers as well. Lots of options for you as you'll see from all the other DDA posts.

There is nothing wrong with the kids eating PB&J once a week if it comes to that. That was what my kids preferred half the time anyway.

All the picnics on tv have people bringing cold fried chicken

I wonder if with names like sorbet and mango the colors may be more orangey?

I was thinking the same thing. I'm kind of liking Becky's thoughts. Wear a blue one and get a apron. I think it might be more obvious it was a costume anyway. Plus, there are a lot more blue options.

That would work. If you go with yellow then you would need to wear dangle earrings and a tiara :goodvibes
