So MomBoss pulled a wonderful stunt yesterday and only paid me half of my salary. I'm sure she has some wonderful excuse such as the fact that the girls went back to school this week, but that was NOT our agreement so she has no standing. Of course, I didn't actually look at the check until later because I wouldn't have even imagined she'd do that. I've got to call her this morning and will also be drafting a letter to be sent regarding that, miles and one other monetary issue, as I know she won't actually answer the phone. I also will most likely not be going to work on Tuesday morning. I was so angry when I saw that check last night that I was practically screaming in the mall parking lot.

Wow, Tia. It sounds like MomBoss has a lot of issues. Those poor kids. I hope you can get your full salary without too much hassle.

Theresa - Sounds like you had a nice evening too. Hope the lockin went well. Best of luck finding a bed today. Do you guys have Ashley Furniture there? I don't know if they are local or national, but I know people that have found really good prices there. I don't know if they are close to you at all, but apparently there are locations in Durango, Montrose and Grand Junction.

Employers have fascinating rationale when it comes to kids being at school and paying the nanny. My friend worked for a family who told her since she was "off" while the little girl was at preschool that she had to work late every night to make up the hours. It is very common for families to try to get away with not paying you for the time the kids are in school. That isn't usually what you have agreed to, but they like to try it. The thing is, if I am the one the school will call to pick up an ill or injured child then I am NOT off. "Off" means I can go get another job during those hours.

Not really. I felt better yesterday, but my body was just tricking me. I feel like crap this morning. Didin't get ANY sleep at all until maybe 3am? I'm still achy and my throat still hurts terribly.

Would you believe that Adventures in Babysitting is on right now? I haven't seen that in ages!!! It's on Oxygen of anyone is interested.

...so is anyone here "bothered" by the HHN's banner that the DU made? Apparently it caused quite a stir on the Budget and Family Board. They've toned it down since so many people have complained.

I hated it from the second it appeared, but I hadn't noticed that they changed it until you pointed it out! I just thought it was icky, and I was getting tired of having to look at it every time the page changed. I am glad they modified it.

Hmm. I just went through a gigantic pile of WDW receipts and of course I can't find the receipt for the rubber duck that the bag faded on. Crud.

I also just now noticed that the receipts from our dining plan meals show all 0's, whihc means going back and figuring how much we really paid for all of that will be a huge pain. I already know we lost hundreds of dollars, maybe I should just leave it alone. (I knew the receipts showed all zeros last year so I always wrote the total for each meal, but for some reason I thought we were getting a copy with the prices this time. Strange.)

I just spoke with Anne Marie. They are traveling through Rocky Mount, NC. It sounds like they had a wonderful time. We are planning on meeting at IHOP tomorrow for breakfast. I'm really excited to visit with her, and Elin too!

What a lame excuse! I have a hair appointment at noon and I plan to be there!

Im definitely nervous, but I had 22 kids in my prek class, even though there was another teacher iwth me, i feel pretty confident. Everything is pretty much done, but i have a bit more to do this weekend. On tuesday, ill figure out lesson plans for the first week, which are normally nothing major i was told..im so scared but so excited!

I hope it's a thrilling kind of scared, like when you ride ToT for the first time, or RnRC.

It is--its petrifying, but im so excited to do it! The other kindergarten teacher and the teacher across the hall from me are great, so that helps. Im sure ill get the hang of it--i still cant believe im a kindergarten teacher!

I had a nice quiet morning at IHOP with a cup of coffee, some pancakes and my trip binder. Between yesterday and this morning, I think my basic daily plans are laid out. I need to solidfy the "Phil" days and make sure I made not of the other mustdos for the non-Phil days. AK is my hardest park this time. It was supposed to be Phil's last day until about 1pm so he could leave and we could rest for MNSSHP. Then we'd finish it on our last morning. However, not our flight is early morning so that's out. I did notice that 3 days later AirTran reopened up $99 fares on one of the later flight I had orignally wanted.

We're headed to a local farm for their Watermelon Festival today. Not quite sure what all they have, but I think it's still peach picking time as well so we may pick a few to make cobbler or something for Monday's BBQ. Whatever they have, Terra's just thrilled to go to the farm. I swear I was given a reborn hippie nature child. It's just so cute!

I spent the morning at IHOP too! But it was NOT quiet. Tammi and herBob and their 3 kids, Anne Marie and Dana and their three kids and myBob and I and no kids had a GREAT time. I wish we all lived closer!
