DDA Chapter 11

I have a hair appointment in 10 minutes. I will talk to you all later on this afternoon!

Jen, good luck on getting your classroom together. I am sure you will be a great teacher! Leighanna loved being around you while we were in Baltimore last year! She said she wishes you could be her teacher now.:goodvibes

Enjoy Elin!

I am relaxing this morning..im just reading while sitting out on the swing overlooking the beach. My brother, his friend, and I are going to go play mini golf in a bit. Then ill do some stuff for work while they are at the beach. Im also going to go shopping and get stuff for work. Then if im done, im going to the boardwalk tonight!

It was wonderful seeing Anne Marie and family. Her DH is just a nice as she is. Elin is right. I wish you all lived closer too. And I mean everyone!

Tia - good luck getting the pay straightened out. I anxious to hear her rationale.

Debbie- You and everyone in Gustav's path will remain in my prayers. :wizard:

Tom and Chanon- :wizard: that the sickies leave you both.

Bernadette- Welcome back!! I couldn't see your pics. :guilty:

Theresa- I hope that the band gets the funding for the Japan trip, what an awesome opportunity.

Tia- I definitely think that you shouldn't be going back on Tuesday. :wizard: that the perfect new job falls into place quickly for you.

Jen- Enjoy your weekend. I am so happy and excited for you. Those kids will be the luckiest kids to have you as their teacher.

Elin & Tammi- Breakfast sounded like a lot of fun!!

Deb- I love the curtains. I like the long length to them. I wish I could do that in my living room but my couch is in front of both windows.

To those I missed,'s and :wizard:

I had a fabulous time last night with the scout moms. The one whose house we are at is the one who just split from her husband after he returned from Iraq. The other mom who was Mo's preschool assistant last year, has had a rough summer with 3 deaths that have hit her very hard. It was very cathartic to all 3 of us to just be there and enjoy a night together and sort of just support each other with the crap that each of us have to deal with. There was a lot of alcohol and chocolate involved so a perfect evening!

I've spent the morning tackling laundry and making dessert for tonight while Lucy is napping and Eric is out running errands and picking up the other 2 from my sisters'. Later this afternoon we are dropping off Lucy at my parents and the 4 of us are headed to my girlfriend's house for dinner and cards. We will also be stopping at the music store to pick out Emma's instrument.

Off to fold more :laundy: Have a great Saturday!!!!

I meant everyone too... we need to buy a mansion in the WDW and move in!

Good Morning DDA!

Welcome back Bernadette! Wow what a recap! Thanks! I have been feeling really crappy the last couple of days with a killer sinus infection and haven't been on much. Hopefully these antibiotics I have will kick it and I'll be feeling better soon!

Deb, the room looks good! Brave of you to use a floral pattern with all boys in the house!

I think the boys all liked it more than I did :rotfl:

I love the floor length curtain too, unfortunately I had to shorten them 8 inches to keep the above the radiators. The curtains are thermal lined so we can close them on those really cold days to help with heating costs. If they covered the radiators I wouldn't be able to close them

I let myself sleep in this morning even though I kept waking up. Once I got up Chris informed me that his aunt and uncle would be returning the chairs that the borrowed at 1 PM. This was not what I wanted to hear as I still needed to shorten 5 pair of curtains before I could conquer the messes that developed while I worked on the living room. Needless to say I was in a very foul mood. I ended up riding Chris like a drill sargent as he never knows what needs to be done to clean the house. Somehow we managed to finish the curtains and tidy up just at 1 PM. His relatives did not show up and ended up calling at 1:45 PM to tell us that they lost track of time and wouldn't be able to make it today after all  They will now be coming by on Monday. Monday is when I wanted them to come in the first place as I had planned to have my projects done and the house recleaned by then. I guess the good news is that our house looks fabulous. Now if we can keep it tidy we'll be all set. :rotfl:

Debbie everytime I hear a hurricane update I become more worried about you. Where are you located in relation to where they think it will hit?  Please take all necessary measures to keep yourself and your family safe

I agree. But I am also concerned about our Texas friends. Who knows where this thing is headed??? :grouphug:

That's a very good point. I suppose that it could take an eastern turn and hit Florida. The reports have it growing in size and strength. It would be nice if it slowed and petered out.

I spent the morning at IHOP too! But it was NOT quiet. :rotfl: Tammi and herBob and their 3 kids, Anne Marie and Dana and their three kids and myBob and me and no kids had a GREAT time. I wish we all lived closer!

I'm glad you had a great time!

We were having a great time at our football kickoff "party", but now are all having psychosomatic symptoms watching Beanie Wells on the sidelines. :scared1: :crazy2:

Are any of my other NCAA football junkies enjoying games today? It's football season!!!!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay::cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We did have a wonderful time, although much too short. I do thank you for quoting me so that I could see that I needed to go back and correct my grammar!!

No football here today. Hair appointments and some Resident Evil (BLECHH!) playing have been happening. However.....

WARNING, ANNE MARIE.... don't be mad

Kristin are going to a wine tasting downtown and then will grab a bite to eat.

I am FURIOUS! Did you all know the post office is closed today? They were closed today (the ENTIRE day!), AND they will be closed Monday! Exactly where do they get off being closed for 3 solid days? Even the little mail center that does US mail and UPS & FedEx is closed! WTH?!! Now I will have to hold all of my packages until Tuesday and drag Princess to the post office with me. I am so angry I can't even think straight. I tried to do the automated machine, but it wanted to give me a label bigger than the envelope. I went to the UPS Store and they wanted to charge me DOUBLE what the post office was going to cost (if the post office label would have been small enough).

After 3 different locations I gave up. Packages will have to wait.

We went to the music store. We bought a drum pad, a stand (against my better judgement) and a pair of bell mallets. We get home and the stand and the pad are incompatible - the pad doesn't fit on the stand. :headache:  :headache: Now we get to drive BACK to the music store and try to figure out if another stand will work. I don't think he really NEEDS a stand, but he wants one.

I'm glad you went and had some 'me' time. I hope Leslie and Mary got a tongue lashing.

A tongue lashing and a grounding. No playing with friends until Tuesday! Mary was so sorry. She is the queen of letting me know where she's going. Leslie and Archer (the friend they were playing with) talked her into just going without calling. Not good. Leslie is not happy with the way she was talked to, but oh, well!

We need that! But with the population here, they would probably always be empty.

I was amazed at how many there are in our area. In the next town closest to us there are red boxes at every McDonald's, one at each entrance to Walmart, at our Kroger's, and Albertson's. We can literally find one wherever we are. You can also go online and search to see the nearest box that has the movie you want, hold it, and then go pick it up. Very nice!!!!!
