DDA Chapter 11

Marci - the boys are really growing up!!

Chanon thanks for posting Anne Marie's updates!

Jen - Just think, if you never get a teaching job you can apply for a job WAITING for something! You can offer to wait for things for people! Phone calls, test results, repairmen, if you have to wait for it, Jen is your girl!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Loved all the first day of school pictures, and the football ones too. All the kids looked great!

We are officially in panic mode her on the coast, the latest projected path of Gustav has it pretty much following the same path as Katrina and making landfall Monday evening or Tuesday morning. They predict it will strenghten to a cat. 3 by the time it makes landfall.

People are out stocking up on supplies and gasing up their cars, I'm just sick to my stomach. I know it's the chance you take when you live where I do, but this one has all the heartache from Katrina flooding back.

I also get angry when I watch the news and they talk about what a tragedy Katrina was to New Orleans. Not that what happened in New Orleans wasn't horrible, but the storm actually hit Mississippi and destroyed the coast. Hundreds of people were killed and thousands of homes were completely destroyed. New Orleans flooded because the levies broke after the storm.

As soon as we could get away after the storm we spent the weekend in Panama City Beach, the girl at the desk asked me if the storm affected Mississippi much. :confused3

Sorry about the rant . . . .

Debbie - I have been thinking about you nonstop for the past couple of days. I can only begin to imagine the fear you all must be feeling. I am hoping that the forecasters are wrong and that this thing turns or weakens.

My neighborhood normally fairs pretty well in the storms, DH has the theory that with so much "gone" south of us that we may not do as well in the future. My freezer is stocked full, so if we lose power for any length of time we will be hosting a huge BBQ.

If it looks really ominous will you all leave?

Ok, here are our first day of school pictures.

Garrett stayed at a friends & the mother was being nice & washed his clothes along with his cell phone, not good  She offered to pay for another one, but it was just a tracfone, so no biggie.

Oh, I am sorry. Waiting for the band director to e-mail is an internship where you gain valuable experience to put on your resume. No salary. ;)
well that wont pay the bills ;)
Oh, Debbie! My heart is breaking for you! You are in my prayers, and if the power of the DDA can do anything, maybe Gustav will weaken or move pathways very quickly! Please let me know if there's anything I can do!
I agree--Debbie, im thinking about you guys!

Jen - Just think, if you never get a teaching job you can apply for a job WAITING for something! You can offer to wait for things for people! Phone calls, test results, repairmen, if you have to wait for it, Jen is your girl!
:rotfl2: She's PERFECT!

Debbie I hope you and your family stay safe. prayers said

I have family that live in Port Aransas TX. which for those of you not from TX, its below Houston and above Corpus Christi. So prayers that they stay safe as well please. Thanks

School starting back up & football is wearing Riley out. They have practice everyday after school unless they have a game(which is only once a week). But the games that are out of town are really out of town! The farthest one is over 2 hours away  I think I am going to see about carpooling with one of the other mothers as Gary does not get home from work in time to go.

Riley is sleeping right now, hope he sleeps tonight.
Tonight I told Nicholas that Riley is playing football for the first time too. He was quite pleased to know that he and Riley have something else in common, besided pin trading. :rotfl:

Our games are a good distance away too, the first one being on the 6th.
