DDA Chapter 11

Morning DDA! Have I ever mentioned that I love Tivo? Bob and I are watching the basketball finals. Never thought I'd say I'm watching basketball with my moring coffee, but hey, there is a first for everything. :teeth:

Jennifer - I think that your clothing shot in your blog is a taste of what those girls are gonna do to you in high school! That is alot of clothes! (But it is two children!) Are you saving the smaller clothes? I know you said you "retired" some of your favorites - save them for a quilt when they are older!

We are saving them, because we aren't sure whether we'll try for another ever or not. I certainly am not ready to totally get rid of anything yet! The quilt is a great idea! I think I was well-prepared for the mountains of clothes which, as you said, will be worse in high school .... because I've ALWAYS purchased too many clothes - my focus has just changed :rotfl: Of course, most of these I didn't purchase, but I'm sure that won't stop me in the future when there aren't showers, etc anymore :rolleyes1

Here's our label for our welcome boxes. Hopefully its the final draft!

I really like it. But what is a welcome box?

Sorry about the photopass. Can someone tell me how to post the link without it requiring a sign in? Or if you want just PM me and I'll send you the log-in info.

It's something for our out of town guests (or anyone staying at the hotel). We plan on putting some goodies in this box for the guests as well as some maps and things to do in the area.

Everyone must be out enjoying their Saturday :goodvibes

Before leaving for work this morning I put Glynis's pot roast in the crock pot, it smelled so good when I came home! I have done the dishes & have a 2cd load of laundry going, so now I will just kick back & watch the Olympics.

My manager's dgd's boyfriend was shot & killed last night here in town. Their family just can not seem to catch a break this year :sad2:

How sad! They just move from one tragedy to another! :sad2:

When we came home last night I leaned against one of the posts for our carport, and it fell over. Turns out the bottom had rotted, so that was added to our list for today.

So the AC man was here yesterday and put some leak stop and freon in the unit, if that doesn't do the trick we will have to replace it.

After spending almost $500 at Lowes this morning we have now installed the new dishwasher, replaced the post, and replaced the handle on one of the toilets. We still have to paint the post, and do some other touch up painting, since we had to buy a gallon of paint anyway, and replace the house numbers on the front of the house.

I hope the A/C won't require additional intervention! Hopefully you are finished with home repairs for awhile!:wizard:

Tia, :yay: for airline tickets.

Very exciting! :dance3:

She comes home with silver!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

How wonderful!!

I love this! Did you do it yourself? It will look fabulous on your kraft gable boxes with the fall-colored ribbon you were talking about.

Chanon, I think that will look terrific!!

Poor DS goes back to school tomorrow.

I have to go get groceries today and work on unpacking all those suitcases. I was at the Expo with my friends until almost 5 PM yesterday so I didn't get anything done. I did give blood.

I got 2 T-shirts and 3 baseball caps that different vendors were giving away so I think I recovered my $8 admission. :rolleyes1 I signed up for all sorts of drawings. DH hates that, because now all these people will be calling to tell me I didn't win, but don't I want to schedule carpet cleaning/a financial consult/a home demonstration/etc? The only thing I ever won (in like 15 years of going to this event) was a gift basket from a personal chef company. It had mugs, plates, a few other odds and ends. I also won ONE laser hair removal treatment. (It takes SIX before it is effective so I didn't bother.) Every year it seems like the expo is smaller and smaller, with fewer interesting vendors. They had fewer sponsors this year, too. Sign of the times, I suppose. And I can't say I have ever become a client of any of these places based on seeing them at the expo.

Tammi - PhotoPass has changed formats from the last time I posted a link, so I don't know how to do it anymore. :confused3

Speaking of PhotoPass, we got our mug in the mail yesterday. We haven't even been home for a week, so that was FAST! It is a nice mug. I don't think I would have paid $24 for it, but for free it is very nice! ;)

Good morning, DDA!

Chanon - Love the label. I think that it will look great.

Elizabeth - Wish DS a good first day from us. Your resort photos look really nice. I love last one of DS on the rock.

Jennifer - No wonder it took you so long to sort clothes. ;) The girls just look so big and just too cute.

Well, my plans of planning yesterday didn't go much farther than airline tickets. However, since that was the important part, I'm good. My dad, hopefully, brought me Erin's paper cutter yesterday so that I can cut autograph cards this week. I've also got a list of other thing to do. Luckily, most of them are quick things. It would really help if I had a speedy and reliable computer, but oh well. Slow and steady wins the race, I hope. ;)

Today we are headed to the Incredible Pizza Company. I'm told that it is "Chuck E Cheese on crack/steroids". Apparently it's a pizza/pasta/salad/baked potato/dessert buffet with ticket-type games like CEC plus go karts, bumper cars, glow in the dark mini golf and mini bowling. Hopefully it will be fun and not too crazy, but who am I kidding. :rotfl: After that, maybe I can commandeer Kristi's computer and printer and finally get some of our trip stuff printed out. My hand-written stuff is getting a little out of control. My color-coded matix of fun is quickly becoming the oft-revised, much-scribbled, we're-eating-where-when, what-color-was-that-coded matrix of chaos.

And with any luck, I've bought myself a late morning tomorrow. Since MomBoss is taking the girls to school and BabyGirl doesn't get back from Dad's until evening, I suggested we maybe come up an hour or so late tomorrow so as not to add to the hecticness of the first day of school. If we arrive on time, we'll get there about 15 min before they need to walk out the door and I'm thinking that things might go smoother if we arrive after they al leave. Luckily, MomBoss seems to think it's a good idea so we might get to sleep in a little. :cheer:

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!!

Apparently I've got DDA on the brain lately as I had a dream last night that I ran into Tammi, Bob and the kids at the bookstore at our mall (and it was the second time in a week that I'd had that dream). It was so real, that I woke up thinking that I needed to email Tammi and find out what we never realized that we lived an hour apart. Somewhere in my dream-state mind I had them moved to Western Ohio and had removed Illinois from the map so that they were a regular shopper at Phil's bookstore and we had just never realized it.

That's like the fourth DDA-related dream I've had this week.

Good Morning All!!

The final score of the football game was 47-0. Cassidy's first boyfriend is a starter so that makes it fun to watch. (He's a good kid whose parents made from 5th grade on a living nightmare....stupid parents who don't think what their fighting over the kids do to them  ...sorry he was an honors student, musician and football player before his mom decided to fight for custody and "home" school him...that year he quit football, music and started failing classes:sad2: )

We got home and into bed at 11 Friday to get up and be out of the house by 5:45 Saturday morning....Abi and I watched the parade. I was appalled at how many of the bands had NOBODY providing water for them in 90+ heat. :sad2: We had a coach and 2 students who started suffering from the heat at the end of the parade...imagine the kids who didn't have any hydration??

Then we had time for lunch...where Jim got us lost (2nd time that day...not even noon yet!!). We then helped the kids set up for practice and then performance. As a parent helper I was assigned a percussion kid. What a great kid!!

We then packed the truck and waited for Jim for over a half hour...let's just say I wasn't happy!! We then did some "shopping" and small livestock looking. This is where I had my blonde moment of the day....I had no clue chinchillas were related to rabbits!! :rotfl:

The kids got 2nd place in their division (the color guard needs a TON of work) and we headed home with a stop at Golden Corral where we haven't been since leaving Billings. Abi woke up craving their rolls this morning:rotfl:

Gosh, it ended up being a trip report:rotfl:

ive been quite lazy so far today. I had 3 picnics to go to yesterday so it was pretty busy.
If i dont hear about the job by noon time tomorrow, I will be calling. They said they would call either way so I still have hope! haha.
