DDA Chapter 11

I hope that she is ok with it. I wish that the girls could come with you. Maybe on the next trip. Maybe we can get Cassidy interested in college at the U of U (great music program), and then we'd see each other more!

is it possible to take a peek at the campus while I am in UT??

I do wish I could take the girls...but I NEED this to be about me, so that I can come home and be as strong as I can for my girls.

So, when it rains it pours,
I got home this afternnon to find my AC frozen solid. So now I have a dishwasher and an AC that need to be fixed. The dishwasher will be replaced, they don't cost enough to warrant paying to have an old one repaired, and the AC man will be here tomorrow afternoon. :headache:

Let's not even talk about losing the money that I had paid at the gym that closed and paying a new fee last night to sign up at the new one.

Can someone please pass the Calgon?

I wonder if that is just an ADHD thing? It's like Jim just doesn't "see" anything in the world that could hurt him or that he could hurt somebody. I've said sorry to more people for him then I ever have for the girls.:headache: Though Abi does come close (but I do also think she is slightly ADD....I've just been trying to teach her to be hyper aware since she was little)

I do think it is an ADD thing, but I don't know how to help him overcome it if he gets all snarky when I point it out! :headache:

Robyn-that is absolutely wonderful news about your mom!!:thumbsup2

Yay for a clean bill of health! :yay:

I think he just needs brothers ;) The boys have learned to be ultra aware or a brother will get the best of them. :rolleyes1

You know what? I wonder if being an only child has made it worse because he DOESN'T have to watch out at home? That's a really good point. But we will NOT be getting any brothers! ;)

Gotta run and get the kids ready for Jacob's pack meeting. It's being held up the canyon, and I need to get everyone in long pants and jackets. It's a bit chilly up there in the evening.

Pack meeting should be fun tonight. They are roasting hot dogs and s'mores, and retiring a couple of flags. Jacob's never seen that done, so it should be interesting. He's also earning a couple of beads and some belt loops. He's worked so hard this summer. I'm very proud of him!

I'll talk to you all after pack meeting.

Sounds like an exciting evening for Jacob! :goodvibes

Well, that sucks!
Once upon a time I belonged to a gym that shut down, but I had the monthly auro-draft and when they closed the drafts stopped so I really wasn't out too much money.

It appears that I missed the window of opportunity for strawberry Oreos. I looked for them at the grocery and at Target and they didn't have strawberry. They had mint, plain, peanut butter (yuck), chocolate creme, and golden.

Robyn, glad to hear its nothing serious for your mom.

Good Night Jennifer, I saw on another thread that you were interested in collecting pressed pennies with Olvia, Brandon loved doing this, putting quarters and pennies in an M & M tube worked great, we bought him a book to keep them in at the resort.
yes we are thinking of it

And you live in the land of Mexican food and Tex Mex...:rotfl: I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Will you be going to San Antonio for the service?

yeah I know. Yes we are going. The service is at 8am in San antonio so I will be leaving my house around 5am

Hi Guys,

Well I flew this past my Devils Advocate-- Stephanie and she liked it so I sent my reply to the "Nice & Bright" guy :lmao:

Mr L,

I would like to thank you for your apology.

I must however, disagree with the wording of your letter.

1. The most important matter is the fact that the young lady DID run over my husband's foot. She could have hit his leg since she was close enough to run over his foot.
She sure was 'nice and bright' while she was shaking her head saying "Nuh huh" when we told her she did in fact run over his foot. That was not the time to be 'nice and bright'

2. Her first action should have been to immediately apologize, offer to get help, ice or whatever was needed to rectify her neglect.

3. She should not be allowed to drive the golf cart anymore. I cannot even begin to wonder what would have happened if a child had been with us and decided at that moment to jump around or if she had actually hit my husband's leg or hit someone much older with more force. This must be addressed to everyone who drives the golf carts.

Regards,

Mrs H

No matter how old your children get,,,,they can drive you to drink. :lmao:

My youngest son Steve (age 29) left yesterday at about 1pm to drive back down to Florida. All he had to do like he did the first time was call to say "Mom I am here"

I have been waiting since last night as long as I could, and then this morning to hear from him. I think I called him about 5 times. I had my phone on all day at work. I even called his girlfriend and finally the other roommate and practically yelled into the phone---"he better call me. I am just about ready to start driving down to look for his vehicle". sooo--- he called about 20 minutes ago finally to tell me the usual lines of S**t. I got there at 6:30 this morning, I was tired, I didn't want to talk to anyone,,,,,blah blah.
I could have ripped his head off if I could have reached thru the phone to do so!!! AAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH :headache:

Give him our congratulations. That is a lot of work. We've been down that road a time or two :thumbsup2

I'm so sorry. That is 3 big financial hits in a couple of days. Hopefully that ends the saga, as they say that bad things come in three's.

That is well thought out and appropriately articulated :thumbsup2

The orange loaf is delicious. We had to cut into a loaf as it just smelled so goooood :goodvibes Chris described it as an orange flavored corn bread as the consistancy is much like cornbread. It is not as good as Disney's, but good none the less

Orange Bread

If anyone finds the recipe for the bread at Tusker House, I would love to have it.

I was browsing the threads on the DVC rent/trade in case there were points for transfer I could grab. The people who are looking for ressies are like the seagulls from Nemo! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! :scared:
One poor guy SPECIFICALLY said how many points he has for transfer, how much per point, and that he wants them done IN ONE TRANSACTION, not a bunch of little piddly ones for different people. 2 people have offered to take the lot off his hands (but severely undercut his price) and everyone else wants little short ressies! Are people illiterate? The funny thing is the low post count on most of the replies. I don't think I would be jumping at the chance to make ressies for people who blatantly IGNORE the guidelines in the first post, especially if they have fewer than 10 posts.

Maybe it's just me, though. :confused3

No, they are just arrogant. They think that the poster doesn't really mean them. I have many parents who are like this. They are not stupid, just plain arrogant.
