DDA Chapter 11

The winds are blowing in the same direction that Katrina did, my tree in the front yard already has limbs that are permanently bowed to the east, I think they will bow even more after today.

Here's a little video of the wind this morning, it's quite a bit harder already. You can see small branches on the roof.

(yes, I'm a little crazy myself)

I'll try and get more as the day wears on.

This is cute so I am going to scraplift & say ditto!

Yay for Lucy! Robyn, watch out!

Yay for Lucy!

This Labor Day weekend has been busy for me. Yesterday we were at a picnic at a coworkers house, until late in the evening. It was so hot and humid. Today we were at a picnic at Bob's coworker's house. Tomorrow we will close out the summer with an afternoon at the pool. I'm sending summer out with a bang!

Sounds like fun!

The son of Bob's coworker who had the party today was on the College Program at MGM a year ago. He worked behind the scenes at Fantasmic, so it was very interesting talking to him today.

How cool is that?

Mike Seidel from the Weather Channel is here in town, Jim Cantore is in Houma, LA. You don't want to be the town that Jim goes to, he always goes to the "hot spot".

Now why is it that in HOURS of hurricane coverage I haven't been able to find Jim Cantore? :confused3 Not fair!

Crazy yes, but he is kind of a hottie!

He is totally hot. That's why I have been looking for him! :rotfl2:

Debbie, I hope you guys stay safe!! :wizard:

Thanks, I think we are going to dodge the bullet on this one, the water is definitely rising. Hwy 90 is under water right now.

So you would be one of those people hanging out down at the beach when Jim is in town, possibly waving at the camera?

Stay safe, Debbie!

No big plans here. Seems we got all of our plans out of our system on Sat and Sun. I think Kristi's family might come over for what is probably the last swim of the year. Dad was going to close the pool today, but I guess that's on hold since he needs a minimum of 19 hours to get to St Paul and back plus sleep. Guess we're closing it in two weeks on the next free weekend.

We may run a few errands. I got an email that I've earned $5 in Borders Bucks so I'm going to go buy Kingdom Keepers II. Between Phil's discount and the BB it will be a really good price. Plus, I have a coupon for any size or type of drink at the Cafe. I also want to get the trick or treat bag fabric. We may got to Chick Fil A for the free chicken strip thing as well. Of course, I've got to find some football stuff to wear, but I know someone has something I can use.

Speaking of clothes, yesterday I went to Target for some shirts as mine are all way to baggy. Plus, Target has the most comfortable t-shirts. So I ended up with almost enough clothes that fit really nicely for our trip. I may not be wearing Disney stuff this time around, but at least the pictures will reflect how hard I worked earlier this year to get off a bunch of weight. I'm also hoping that now that I'm home more and hopefully, even with a new job, will be able to control my food more that I can get back on track to lose more.

Good morning.

Just wanted to share some pictures with you.

Our building at POR (#17). It was 3 buildings from the foodcourt & close to the parking lot which worked out great since we had our car.

This is the day that Fay was coming thru so MK was nice & empty. Daniel was given a magic fastpass to any ride from a CM at Alladins carpet ride. He was so excited..he used it for Space Mountain.

I need to get to work. Anne Marie I see you are posting pictures, I will look when I get back home!

Debbie I will be thinking of you today!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Anne Marie - Nicholas and I are enjoying looking at your photos. More!

Janet - I can't wait to see the finished pictures. I'm sure you will be much happier with a bigger kitchen.

Thanks, I think we are going to dodge the bullet on this one, the water is definitely rising. Hwy 90 is under water right now.

So you would be one of those people hanging out down at the beach when Jim is in town, possibly waving at the camera?

I hope the flooding doesn't get too bad! :wizard:
I suppose if I still lived in FL I might go to the beach in a hurricane to see Jim Cantore. :rolleyes1 If there is ever a weather event significant enough to bring him to Dallas I am not sticking around! :scared:

Anne Marie - What great pics! :goodvibes

Janet - Yikes! Your pics give me stress! But it will be wonderful when it is all finished! I can't believe the cats will just come out in the middle of the construction. :rotfl2: Our cats would be hiding somewhere.

I came home from work to day to having no wall between the kitchen & dining room. I think I am really going to like it like this, it makes the kitchen look much bigger! Of course the house is now coated with dust  For the past 2 years our ceiling fan & light in the dining room has not worked, guess what is working now lol Gary said after he torn the wall down he seen the wire was kinked or something :confused3 Anyway one thing less he has to fix!

I will post pictures of our newest mess soon.

I wish that we had the skills and confidence to do something like that. You are all giving me motivation to try a few things, though. First I need to CLEAN and DISCARD around here. Yay for the light working!

He was telling me that all of the platforms had to be tested each night before the show and that they got to volunteer to do the testing. He got to 'test' the platform at the very top that Mickey pops out of at the end, and pop out of it just like Mickey does. How cool would that be!?

That is definitely cool!

We are going for a Pooh bear theme. I've found some classic Pooh sheets for the crib, and some modern Pooh wall stickers. It's going to look a bit odd with all of Jacob's Star Wars stuff on one side of the room, but until the boys are able to communicate a little better, that's just the way it's going to be!

We love Pooh here! That is going to be so cute! My two boys are 8 years apart and need to share a room. We've had a few juxtapositions like that over the years.

I hadn't heard that! Oh, man!!! That one is definitely on my must have list! Please let me know how Miles likes it!

Alan will kill me if I buy another hard back book. I just bought a copy of Stephenie Meyers book "The Host." Our book club is reading it for October's meeting, and there's no way I can get it from the library. I was 984th in line as of Friday, so I broke down and bought it.

I will! He hasn't been reading quite as much the last couple of days. I think he wants a few days of complete mindlessness before school starts even though he actually loves to read. Please let me know what you think of The Host. I've been debating on whether to buy it or not. My dh feels the same way yours does about hard cover books.

Well I think I can officially say Gustav has arrived. The winds have picked up and I keep hearing things hitting the roof, most of which are pine cones but they are pretty loud when they hit.

We've had at least one tornado in the area, and power outages are being reported.

pixiedust: that you stay safe!

I like your costume ideas, Deb.
Those are great!

Anne Marie, I love your pictures! Keep posting! We have always loved Spaceship Earth and also rode it many times this year. Laura was a little miffed by the lines, though. It used to pretty much be a walk-on many times during the day, and she thought it was her own private ride. :rotfl: We went back to Innovations later that day we saw you and were able to watch "Storm Struck" (was that the name?) with hardly any wait.

It's cool that you had MK pretty much to yourselves the day that Fay rolled into town. We went to AK and DHS that day. We were able to ride Expedition Everest 10 times in a row (7 times in a row was plenty by the way). It was a complete walk-on. The Safari was also a walk-on, and we rode that about 6 times throughout the day. At DHS, ToT and RnR were pretty much walk-ons, and the stand-by line at TSM was only about 10-15 minutes. We had a lot of fun that day despite the rain. By Friday (our last day :sad2: ), people were at all the parks, and we were so tired of being wet.

Welcome to our mess lol
