DDA Chapter 10

Brian Piasecki (from Le Cellier) replaced Anette Grecchi at Jiko about a year ago. He had started at there about the time Bob and I had our spectacular dinner last October. His move is one of the reasons there was/is such an uproar on the Dining Board about the menu at Le Cellier.

Chef Tjetjep Sudiswa (TJ) has been at Boma for a few years, I think. He replaced Chef Jay Smith, I think?? Not sure about that one.

I knew Annette Grecchi Gray left Jiko, and that the Le Cellier guy moved over there. The new menu at Le Cellier caused me to cancel our ADR. Chef TJ is the only one I have ever heard of at Boma, but I have never seen him in person.

I am still wondering...don't most police stations have local numbers? Like I said...I programmed our local number into our cells in case of emergency...and it works just fine

In all of our phone books it says the police/fire number is 911.
I know there are plenty of things Dallas does NOT send officers for. Like car burglaries, non-injury accidents, etc. When DH's parents house was burglarized we called for an officer to walk through the house to make sure there wasn't anybody still inside, and they said they had to go to "shootings, stabbings, and major vehicle accidents first" so we could be waiting awhile. Hello? We are trying to AVOID becoming a shooting or stabbing! :scared1: So we sat outside and observed the business of the drug dealers across the street until the police came. We told them "Those guys are selling drugs over there." Officer said "We know." See why we never moved into that house?

John just walked in the door.

He's sick, and the fact that he came home means HE'S SICK.

Hope he feels better soon! :wizard:

Jen - Glad to hear Joe is home! :goodvibes

I am progressing through my list of last minute odds & ends. I still need to print boarding passes and gather up the important documents, money, APs, etc. to go in my bag. I am going to WDW TOMORROW, you know! ;)

Hi guys-
I need some prayers...As I was online earlier, myb rother called and asked for mom--i knew something was wrong so i got mom and we found out Joe had been in a motorcycle accident. He was driving to the firehouse and a car swerved in his lane and was headed right towards him. He had to choose to get hit by the car or go towards to grass and dump his bike. So he went for the grass and there was a big ditch. Joe was knocked unconcious for a bit and we headed to the hospital around 1130..he is still there, my dad and I just came home for ab it and we are headed back. As of now, they think his shoulder and jaw may be broken. Im pretty much freaking out and i know how strong DDA prayer is...thanks

Jen glad to hear it was clean breaks. :wizard: that he is not in to much pain. prayers said

Jennifer- :wizard: I hope you all can manage without the A/C. :wizard: for Virginia. Molly had those Rocephin shots all the time with her ears, they are not fun at all.
so do I very little driving till monday

I am so not cut out to handle change well. This week has just been wonky. Last night Eric didn't get home until 7:30. He was done at 4 but the metro was delayed so he waited and waited. Lucy did not appreciate that at all!! She cried and cried and cried til he walked in the door. I was trying to fix dinner and screwed it up(I was adding a tad of spicy red pepper oil and ended up adding about 1/3 of the bottle, Eric and I were able to eat it but there was no way the girls were touching it) that I ended up ordering pizza. That did not get here until 8pm. Tonight I think I'm headed to anywhere but my kitchen for dinner.

On top of that Emma and Allyson are being drama queens and Mo refuses to sleep past 5:30am. I am beat. And I know Eric is too but I am still beyond annoyed that he comes home, talks to the girls for about 2 minutes, eats dinner and then heads downstairs til he is ready for bed. He's too tired from the commute. 2+ hours are on the train. What I wouldn't do for 2 hours to myself. More than 12 hours with the girls and the other kiddos for 8 hours is slowly pushing me over the edge. But on the bright side it's Thursday and the week is almost over.

I am off to shower before the troops arrive in 20 minutes.

Have a great day. :goodvibes
 Hang in their Robyn

Elizabeth :wizard: and prayers for your Mom

He is adorable. He reminds me of our first dog. I can see that he already loves you.

DH and I would like to cruise on The Pride of America for our 25th Anniversary.
DH actually helped build the ship, it was started here and then the company building it went bankrupt, it ended up being sold and finished in Germany. But the cost of the cruise and flights would be $8000.00, and that doesn't include any shore excursions, I don't think it's going to happen.

Welcome home, your new baby is beautiful!

That price tag certainly takes that temptation out of booking. There are 5 of us

:wizard:  Oh how scary. I'm glad that he only has a few broken bones it could have been so much worse  It seems that it is most always the other driver at fault in motorcycle accidents.

Oh no! Lots of prayers for Joe and that they news is good this morning. I hope he's not in too much pain and back on his feet soon. :wizard: :grouphug:

Elizabeth - have a wonderful vacation! I'll see you soon! Like....in 2 weeks!

Robyn- My mouth is very sore...without giving TMI...I now have stitches in part of my mouth and percocet is once again my friend. I am missing my pepsi to kickstart my day but other than that (and work woes) I am okay. Because my insurance has a $1500 yearly limit we are going to see how well I tolerate the work being spread over the next 5 months. That way I have to pay less than if we did it all this year. Plus it gives my mouth a little more time to heal.

Well we bit the bullet and switched cell phone companies. We are now with Verizon. We are also giving up the house phone. I can't see a real need to keep it. My brother is next door and has a land line if a need arises. Now we are trying to figure out the phones. We opted for voice only at this point. I'm sure the texting etc will become important to the kids in the future, but they aren't necessary now so why pay extra for them? I was able to port my old cell number to the new phone and our house number will be ported to one of the others. We still have Chris' Trac Fone for another year as that was prepaid. So that gives us 4 phones for 5 people which is more than enough.

I have a major headache going on today. The entire right half of my head hurts, down into my shoulder and back. I haven't felt "right" for a week. I have no idea what's going on, just tired and achy and I feel like I can't think clearly. I told Chris that I must have some sort of infection or something that is throwing me off. Unfortunately there is nothing specific enough or bad enough to warrant a trip to the doctors. Hopefully it is just a wonky virus that will clear up soon. Hopefully I'll feel a bit better before tonight as carrying trays of food while feeling dizzy could be a challenge not to mention lifting them with this pain in the neck.

Colby finished his speech therapy for this summer today. She said that he is progressing nicely and she'll start working with him the first week of school. Yesterday we signed all 3 up for swimming lessons for the next 2 weeks. Of course they are all scheduled for different times :headache: I'll get to hang out by the pool from 9:45 - noon for 2 weeks straight. Since knowing how to swim well is such an important life skill I don't mind the time commitment. The boys can't see why I can't just teach them, but we don't have access to a large enough pool for them to gain strength and endurance so lessons it is. I want each of them to progress to the point where they could take a life guarding course. At that point it will be up to them as to whether they proceed or not.
