DDA Chapter 10

with that I think I am off to shower and dentist...trying a new one. I hope they are gentle with me or I may just cry(I still might...I am a big cry baby lately).

Good luck! TELL THEM you are very nervous. They can give you some of the goofy gas to help you feel calm, and you can still drive afterwards. (But since you typically don't drive that's not an issue! :rotfl2: ) My old dentist (the one who charged me $1200 for a crown that isn't there) would always tell me to raise my left and and he would stop. They used to laugh at how I had that left hand at the ready!

Wow you all were chatty yesterday. Bob and I went and did some back to school shopping, ate dinner out and went to see Mamma Mia. We both really enjoyed it.
Now I'm off to catch up. I have to find out if peanut is a pirate: or a princess: .

My kids come home today!!!! :yay: Although they won't get here until around 9 tonight. :guilty:

Sounds like a fun day.... and I'm thrilled that your kids are home! :goodvibes

Jennifer, I am sorry that the girls are struggling with feeding and reflux. I hope Elise feels better soon.

Thanks. She's doing ok... just has nasty, thick green drainage that is too far back to suction well. She can't eat or sleep well because she can't breathe, which makes for an even fussier girl than she has been  Knock on wood, she's had a pretty good morning. There's no fever or any other symptoms, so I'm sure it's just a cold. Hopefully it won't last long, for all of our sakes! ;)

Favorites for a boy of 5, huh?

Here ya go:

Buzz Lightyear (definitely. He should love it!)
The Tiki Room
The Jungle Cruise
Pirates (there are 2 drops, so he might want to be warned)
Pooh Bear
Dumbo
King Arthur's Carousel
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (can be a bit scary, but if you get him driving, he'll think it's neat)
Peter Pan
Snow White
Pinocchio
Matterhorn (depending on his size and bravery level)
Finding Nemo subs
Star Tours (depending on his size and bravery level)
Space Mountain (depending on his size and bravery level)
Anything in Toon Town

In DCA:

Soarin' (depending on size)
Jumpin' Jellyfish (if he's over 40 inches)
King Triton's Carousel
All of A Bug's Land with the exception of the movie
Monster's Inc.
Turtle Talk with Crush

I think that's about it. This is based on what my kids liked when they were that age. A lot of rides depend on their height. And there are some that I know that even though Leslie was the right height, she just couldn't emotionally handle.

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

Well it's time for me to make my weekly trip to the grocery store,
later today we'll be making a trip over to the Disney store to put some money on a gift card.

Is anyone gathering cell numbers for the August trips?

I'll provide you with my cell phone number for my August trip. Although I doubt you would get me on the phone.

If anyone is in Florida on September 1st, please let me know. That is the only day we are in Florida and only for a few hours. We are probably going to hit DTD after getting off the boat and before we head to the airport.

I gotta hop in the shower, then I want to head to AC Moore or Michaels to get the rest of the supplies for our shirts. I need soda ash and dark t-shirt transfers. I hope I get transfers that work without issue.

Then I have a wedding to help out at, I need to be there at 2:30pm. It is outdoors and supposed to be 90 degrees today.

Have a great Saturday.

Yes, that's a possibility, but I don't have to buy him a board, just markers. :confused3
Im not sure about his teacher, obviously..But in the past, I have been in classrooms in which each child had their own small dry erase board in their desk. I would say a questino (math question, spelling, etc) and the kids would all write the answer and hold up teh boards..I was able to then look arounda t them all. We probably used them 2-3 times a week...
Of course, i have no idea if this is what your teacher is planning on doing, but just wanted to throw it out there

it's one of those things the school district provides...that way all kids have the same one and it's actually cheaper to buy in bulk

my luck keeps running...to bad it's bad.

I have 3 choices:

a.) keep the tooth with a root canal, pull 3 other (that really need to come out) and do bridges
b.)do nothing
c) pull the tooth and the 3 others and partially denture my mouth.

a & c will cost me, even with insurance, $1200 to $5000. I've got until Wednesday to decide.

Oh and I've got a raging infection in my mouth that I had no clue I had!! So on antibiotics I go!!

If it were me....I'd do A...the more teeth of you own you can keep the better (IMO)

Glynis - What a scary day for you. I'm so glad you are doing okay, save a few bruises. Wonderful news from the ultrasound though!!! I'm so glad it's a boy. What a perfect addition for your family. Congratulations!!!! Sounds like you had a really nice day all around.

Lyndsey - Glad to see you!!! Hope things are slowing down for you soon.

Elizabeth - I'm with you that supplies in some school are getting crazy. Kind of like the request Tammy got for more supplies a short time before the end of the year. I've always agreed that you supply your own things for your own kid, not everyone. In Kindergarten the "table" of 4 kids pools their crayons into one basket, but that's still better than what your DS faces.

Robyn - That Rocket cake is great!!

Chris and Deb - Happy Anniversary!

Elin - Love the pictures from Mount Vernon! Totally remembered the trip when I was 5 when I saw them.

Tammi - Glad the kids are almost home! Hope they enjoyed it okay.

Jennifer - :wizard: for the girls to get through their eating difficulties quickly and that Elise feels better.

Tough call, but I'd probably go with A. I have several teeth that need to be dealt with, but I've been putting it off the same as you. The last dentist made me cry so I've refused to go back to any dentist. Brilliant, eh?

Jennifer or Elizabeth (or anyone else who knows) - Can you repost the thread with the resort photo shoots? Phil actually seems interested in doing it so I want to check out the options.

Okay, apparently I can't find anything today since I can't remember where the Boutique thread is. So....Bernadette or Tom, can you point me to some directions on how to make a twirl skirt? Thanks!!

I'm sorry to hear this!

I would suggest A. I had a bridge done and have another scheduled (at 24 years old... ridiculous :sad2: ). I agree with Kristine, that the more teeth you can keep the better. Also, the various teeth I've had pulled have caused more problems (with dry socket after, etc) than any root canal or bridgework!

speaking of teeth...I have had one tooth pulled out as an adult (and recently) so now I am trying to get my head wrapped around getting a dental implant...talk about a ridiculous amount of money....I was appalled at the consultation, just listening to the procedure made me ill
