DDA Chapter 10

I got our travelers checks today. Now I have to remember to take those little receipts and put them somewhere other than with the checks.

ExMomboss called me today to confirm once more that I don't want to view the contents of my father's apartment before they liquidate them. Nope. She also asked me if I want to babysit next weekend. Odd, because she has only called me to babysit one other time since I stopped working there! I think I had Princess that night so I had to say no to that one as well. (The one family I sit for all the time is a family from the synagogue. I see those kids a minimum of once a month!) I told her we're just too close to the trip for me to work Saturday night. I haven't seen the kids in MONTHS. I bet they wouldn't listen to me if I babysat! It would have been great to see them but I don't want to work that night.

FYI for you all

Dear Insider,

In a few days The Cheesecake Factory will announce a very special offer in honor of our 30th anniversary. However, as is customary at the Insider's Table, we wanted to share the news with you first!
What's all the excitement about?
On Wednesday, July 30, Cheesecake Factory restaurants nationwide will offer every delicious slice of our more than 30 varieties of cheesecake for $1.50 per slice - just like we did when we opened our first restaurant back in 1978!
It's no coincidence that Wednesday, July 30, also happens to be National Cheesecake Day. After all, what better time to enjoy the cheesecake you absolutely love! As you know, sharing is part of the fun at The Cheesecake Factory so feel free to share the news about this special offer with your friends.
So, come celebrate with us on National Cheesecake Day! And, stay tuned for more news about our 30th Anniversary Celebration! Your friends at The Insider's Table

Hope you all can go get a bit of yummy cheesecake

Ooooo yummy! Guess what Alan will be picking up that day??? I will be getting home from my parents that afternoon, so that will really hit the spot! Thanks, Paula!!! Now to choose the flavor!

Somehow, I don't think their bladders are every empty!

Elizabeth, your poop story made me laugh. About a week after we got home, Kyle managed to allow Elise to poop on the wall. Yes, the wall. He wasn't paying attention I guess, and it was lovely breast milk, newborn poo that squirted (sorry for the image :rotfl: ) straight off the end of the table and onto our wall.

He's much faster now :)

Been there, done that, with a twin who was squirting from both ends at the same time! Poor Alan! I don't think he's looked at Leslie quite the same since that happened!

:scared1: You horrible, mean mother!

I think it will be a wonderful balance to have your little one home 'alone' with you for a while during the day! :goodvibes

Yup! I'm so mean....until I'm handing out the allowance she earns from those chores! Then, I'm wonderful!

I'm looking forward to having an "only" child for a few hours every day!

Well, it is another very hot day here today! I got the a/c going early, and I'm drinking so much water I'm going to start floating!

Anyway, the kids and I went to the school library this morning. The librarian there is wonderful and the kids like to visit her. Katie is working on the Newberry Challenge. Our principal and the librarian have issued the challenge for any 5th and 6th graders who read 50 Newberry Award books during those 2 years will get 50 dollars and their names engraved on a special plaque in the library. They've been doing this for about 6 years, and so far there are only 3 names on the plaque. Katie is determined to get her name on that plaque. She's read (and done reports) on 25 books, and has until May 29th to get another 25 done.

After the library, we drove to the mall for some lunch Chick-fil-A, Amy!!! So yummy!!! Then we browsed in the Build A Bear store. The kids all found several things they think their bears need, so now they have incentives for working and doing extra chores around the house. We also decided to go back to the store Friday after the ultrasound and make a bear for Peanut. That has got them so excited! Me too, truth be told! Will make it seem more real!

Now, we're home, and I'm relaxing at the computer! In about an hour I'll put together a chicken salad so it can chill in the fridge for a couple of hours before dinner. I got a couple of cantaloupes at the store which we'll have with dinner and some yummy avocados!

I'm giving notice that I'll be gone from Saturday morning until Wednesday night. I'm taking Katie and 2 of her best friends along with Jacob to see some plays at my dad's theater. It's kind of a tradition, and I wanted to do it before I get too much bigger. Besides, after the ultrasound, I have a feeling I'll want to see my mommy! Alan will stay here with the twins and do some fishing/bonding with them. So, I'll be out of touch during that time!

I do promise, though, to come here on Friday and let you all know about the results of the ultrasound, and the sex of the baby.

Way ahead?, you can never start a bookshelf too early, in my opinion.
I say go ahead and get the books now.

Jennifer - have you seen these? I'm thinking (way ahead) for the girls bookshelves!

Hi Theresa :)

Boy, little over a month old, catholic.

boy or girl,

baby, older child or adult??

which religion, catholic, protestant, etc??

(I'm full of questions aren't I??;) )

I agree! My book group threw a shower for one of our members having her first baby. We all brought a copy of our favorite childhood book for the baby. It was so neat! I was afraid there would be duplicates, but there weren't! It was fun to see what everyone had enjoyed as children. Quite a lot of diversity there!

Need gift ideas please, baptism.

I've always liked these figurines (and I can find them in our hospital gift shop):

And if you have a few days - we got this for Bob's nephew for his baptism:

I know! ;) I just don't want to enable Jennifer (any more than just by posting a link...) to get MORE books for the girls! :rotfl:

So (thanks to Kristine) I think I'm going to be booking a poolside Cabana for us to use one day during our Universal stay. I think it'll be fun and I'm gonna try to get it for Saturday when the football game is going on. That way we can still be outside enjoying the weather, and he can watch his Michigan game.

ETA: Now I checked the schedule and the time for that game is TBA. I thought TBA followed some of you guys around - why is it bother me!? :rotfl:

Oh please....I am still pondering "the robe package" because of you! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well, after much number crunching and checking availability at various resorts, I discovered that cash ressies are available for studios at OKW for the dates that I need. Soooo.....I called member services and got a studio for my parents for the 3 nights and one for myself for 2 nights. Those ressies are linked to our DVC nights, so we won't have to change resorts! Plus I got 25% member discount! So it's a little more than we would have paid for the suites, but worth it to not have to move! And I'm still on the waitlist!

Now the trip seems real and I can concentrate on airfare!

That is terrific news, Tammi. If your waitlist comes through can you cancel the cash ressies?
