DD8 with digestive issues...

I was "diagnosed" with IBS about a year ago, after suffering in silence for 9 years. So for 10 years I put up with it. Then I read more about celiac's disease and other stomach issues, and decided to try a wheat (gluten) free diet on my own. I mentioned it to my doctor and she didn't think it would hurt to try it. OMG! Within 2 days I was feeling so much better!! And within a week or so I was more normal. I had been having diarrhea issues 2-6 times per day for years. Now, if I truly stay away from wheat (and barley too) I have absolutely no problems. Some days I don't "go" at all, most days once, maybe twice, in the early morning and they are "normal" and not diarrhea and there is none of that urgency that I have to find a bathroom NOW. I can sometimes wait a half-hour before I "need" to go and I know most won't understand, but that is a wonderful feeling!! To know that I have time, and don't have to worry about an accident. So it definitely could be a wheat intolerance, or celiac's too, for your daughter. But I would want her to see a specialist, of course.

Sounds like you have Celiac and not IBS....two different conditions.
